Regie2bless: Osibanjo own that building, multiple sources confirmed it. Why all this noise, Osibanjo should come out and clearify himself not sending people to do it for him, yesterday was his friends and associates today is this man. This elderly man said he didn't sold the land to Osibanjo then who did he sell it to? Is. Osibanjo presidential ambition better than the lives lost under that rubble. The state government is keeping mute on the actual owner of the land, the seller of the land is also keeping mute. Osinbajo should come and confirm to you when your "multiple sources" already did? You're just like those "Free Readers Association" guys that gather around vendors table at bus stops yarning okpaks... |

First and foremost, It seems Nairaland is a cespit of many dumb and willfully unintelligent people. One would have expected that the initial accusation is assessed for veracity before jumping into conclusions, but that I guess is rocket science to many. I do not dignify Sahara Reporters as a veritable news source. They feed on people's sentiments, ignorance and willful dumbness. I do not also think Sowore is that intelligent, so a lot of stuffs coming out of SR are mostly noise and less substance. Check the initial report and I bring out few things 1. Supposed evidence are submissions by faceless people. “Osinbajo is linked to the property, that house that collapsed on Monday in Lagos State. I was aware when he got the landed property from Elizade. A woman was selling food at the place before, that was where all workers and labourers working around here do eat,” a facility manager told SaharaReporters. A no-name, unverifiable "Facility Manager" told you that a previous Mama Put joint belongs to Osinbajo... and that becomes evidence? 2. No record checks “The Vice President has a lot of properties in the area, he is using his brother to manage the properties. The developer, Femi Osibona is only fronting for him. Osinbajo even bought another property for his brother in the area, it’s at Mosley Street. The brother is the one managing it personally, he comes there almost every time. The Vice President has many properties in the area.... yet the VP declared his asset; your "Investigative Journalism" cannot to access his Asset Declaration form and corroborate or dispute? You cannot at least check with land registry and establish connections in an intelligent way rather than a faceless source. It's just like rushing to press with a "sent-as-received" WhatsApp nonsense 3. It gets even worse - the only evidence adduced is "That's where we do eat"? Speaking to SaharaReporters, another source said, “I know the land was bought by the Vice President from Elizade. I can’t really say maybe he sold it to Osibona. I know when the land was bought. That’s where we do eat.” |

You: because it's false
Me: how do you or the writer know it's false?
You: the Sahara reporters story is false.
Me: isn't it too early to debunk the story since you don't know whether it's true or not.
You: it's not true. We have proof.
Me: why didn't the writer include the proof in his write-up?
You: .......

TripleOh7: That all facts aren't in yet doesn't mean that the facts linking the building to Osinbajo haven't been released.
But that's not my point still. I don't know if you keep missing it on purpose.
If all the facts aren't in yet, then on what basis is the write-up written?
The news broke today and someone is already writing an epistle to justify the VP.
Does he have all the facts?
If he does, he would and should have included them in his write-up which he didn't and that's why I used the adjective wishy-washy in my first post.
Gerrit now? Well I cannot Gerrit....especially assumption that betrays logic from the very first point. You expect to take the "Osinbajo link" as valid while questioning a writer that questions validity of the news? Meanwhile it would do you a lot of good to go read the Sahara report on the Osinbajo link and if you care come back and tell me about evidence... |

If all the facts aren't in yet, then the writer shouldn't have even put pen to paper in the first place...unless he was paid to.
That's my point. Gerrit? It is the logic of your point I question. If all facts aren't in yet, on what basis was the building linked to Osinbajo? |
Politics › Re: Fake News Debacle: Who Is After VP Osinbajo Again? - By Oluwafemi Popoola by mapet: 4:42pm On Nov 04, 2021 |
TripleOh7: Interesting.
Definitely a paid hack.
Here's what the writer did, he began by first listing the various, probably false, allegations of corruption against the VP that never gained traction and spent time debunking the already debunked stories.
Then when he mentioned the collapsed building, he didn't debunk any of the points raised. He just did a wishy washy thing and ended abruptly.
Isn't it too early to be vouching for a Nigerian politician? Why not wait until all the facts are in, unless of course you've been paid to do this. 1. Why will he debunk news that was already debunked in time past? 2. When you advise "wait till all facts are in", did you consider your prior statement "Isn't it too early to be vouching for a Nigerian politician?" Did you avail yourself with any fact that suggests Osinbajo is linked to the collapsed building, and as such taken a "cannot vouch position"? Did you wait for all facts in? |

southniyikaye: so, explain what actions buhari has taken toward climate change, I want to hear it if not, the joke is on uou If your brain is working sub-optimal, I was hoping your fingers would have at least google searched. Well for your lazy ass see below 1. Buhari ratifies Paris agreement on climate change - With the ratification, Nigeria has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions unconditionally by 20 per cent and conditionally by 45 per cent. The Paris agreement is expected to deliver $100 billion per year by 2020 in support of developing countries, to take climate action. https://guardian.ng/news/buhari-ratifies-paris-agreement-on-climate-change/ The below already implemented in the new PIA Other measures being considered include stopping gas flaring, capture of gas, setting standard for appliances, generators, buildings and climate smart agriculture, all is expected to lead to $4.5 billion benefits to the country. 2. President Buhari approves Nigeria’s revised National Climate Change Policy - The Revised National Climate Change Policy is expected to implement mitigation procedures already put in place in the country and promote the low-carbon, high-growth economic development plan for a sustainable climate. 3. .. commits to cut 32% of emissions by 2030 "Beyond ending gas flaring by 2030, the oil and gas sector has undertaken steps for diversification, risk management systems, insurance (indistinct) research and development and energy crisis planning", Buhari said. https://www.africanews.com/2021/04/23/africa-commits-to-cut-32-of-emissions-by-2030// 4. Specifics He then announced Nigeria’s various plans to tackle climate change, promote afforestation, ensure the availability of potable water, and improve waste management..... by focusing on the administration’s policies (the ones already being implemented, like the Green Bonds, and the ones set for implementation, like the new tree-planting campaign, and the energy mix target) 5. Land Restoration Initiative restore 100 million hectares of degraded landscape for agriculture....
He added that Nigeria participated in the land restoration initiative, in drafting and harmonizing the Results Framework for the Accelerator with five cardinal pillars to address the 2021- 2030 Decennial Priority Investment Plan ambition of the Great Green Wall, citing five major roles including the restoration of 100 million hectares of degraded land; sequestration of 250 million tonnes of carbon; creation of 10 million green jobs; resilient economic development in the various Member States as well as capacity strengthening and development.
President Buhari also revealed that Nigeria’s approach to addressing the physical and socio-economic aspects and effects of desertification, drought and climate change would prioritise the education of local communities and the use of technology. As acknowledged by Jeff Bezoz ‘‘Nigeria plays a critical role in the restoration movement and has pledged to restore 4 million hectares of degraded lands. This kind of ambition coming from Africa’s largest economy underscores just how vital this issue is.’’ |
