Uk any day, any time. Transport system, security, social life, Education, Health care, etc are far better in the UK than in the US.

kimba:
@Mr FilchIts like you are the uneducated fellow in here, because you are looking at the issue with only one eye. Yes, both the victims and the criminals should be treated as criminals, because the victims definitely had something up their sleeve.

answer the question please:
Mr. Filch. If you get one of those letters with all the proposals etc., and if some amount was to be transferred into/through your account, and for which you get a percentage;, and if a miracle happens and the money really lands prime-time in your account, you verify it and everything is intact.
Give me the answers bro:
1) Would you still cry foul?
2) Tell me that you wont begin to talk of a good fortune?
3) tell me that you would go to the police saying "I want to report that the money in my account is not mine".

Yes, thats why i say both the perpetrators and those who fall victim are criminals, because if everything worked well, and they get the millions of pounds real-time, no body will hear about it. Am i not wrong/right?

Again, am I wrong to say that no loots has been transferred out of a country into another? out of a bank in an impoverished country into another? How many rich men of today have illegal money in swiss accounts? are they all Nigerians? and why is Switzerland not giving back all those moneys to their rightful owners? im talking ill gotten wealth here, are they not 419?, investing it on behalf of somewhere and in things no one knows about?

Can somebody please explain the meaning of "classified" in the U.S of A. Is everything labelled "classified" actually legal?
You cannot treat someone (victim) like a criminal when no crime has been commited by the victim. If the money the fraudsters were offering does indeed exist, then there might be merit in your argument.

You cannot prosecute someone legally for attempting to steal imaginary money. wink

Now if you're trying to say they somehow deserve being scamed in this way, then that's a different story.

Ka:
Libertarian.

It's all about freedom. Why should I poke my nose in other people's business? And why should they poke their nose in mine?
There is no such thing as absolute freedom. Instead there are levels of freedom. Some part of the way you live your life is controlled by Government and not by you.

Absolute freedom => Utopian Society = "Impossible" => Anarchy. This will happen every time simply because we are human.

There is not a good airport in Nigeria. There are no good airlines in Nigeria. Nigeria has one of the World's worst safety records. All airport staff are corrupt and the general condition is appalling!
Interesting how you came to that conclusion. Have you used all airports? have you used all airlines? Have you interacted with all airport staff in all the airports in Nigeria?
Am not hooting for female president per se. However am saying it about time Nigeria tried a female president. The men we had so far have failed us woefully. What with their latest sit-tight tendencies? There is nothing wrong in asking for women especially now that we have amply qualified and experienced ones, who knows their onus.
I disagree. The idea that a woman will do a better job there is an urban myth. Whoever goes in there should go in because that person is the best candidate for the job. Just as there have been clueless ruthless male leaders, there have also been clueless ruthless female leaders throughout world history. It's just that males have mostly been the ones in power.

This is nothing against women. I love women. grin

I just feel we should quit voting for people because they stir popular setiments or on a "trial" and "error" basis. They should be voted for on their ability to perform male or female.
Politics › Re: Who Should We Dream Of For 2007 Presidency? by Mariory(m): 2:27pm On May 23, 2006
I have just read that at the moment there are 9 groups working to contest the presidential post next year.
http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=48769

Another group that is also already positioning itself comprises members of the economic team in Obasanjo's government. Notable among these people are Finance Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Federal Capital Territory Minister, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, Central Bank Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo and Solid Minerals Minister, Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili.
The calculation within this group is that Obasanjo needs a candidate that is not only committed to the on-going reforms but someone who would and can sustain it. Although no candidate has yet emerged from this group, the possibilities of a North/South pairing are already emerging and the weeks ahead would tell the direction and whether Obasanjo will back the move.

This will probably the most efficient and trust worthy coliation in my opinion.

Ngozi, Okonjo Iweale will make a very good administrator while Dora Akunyili will make a good leader. Atiku and co are just bunches of "those same" politician. I think Nigeria need a leader; a feminine leader with a magic wand.
The president doesn't have to be female. That should not be a prerequisite for being president. There is no gaurantee that a female president will not be equally corrupt. After all, most of our most corrupt leaders have/had wives.

@Afeni: There you go again spouting rubbish.

I far as I'm concerned, the tribe/religion/ethnicity/privates-size/hair-colour/etc of any prospective president does not matter. The only thing that matters is their integrity/determination/ability to continue to grow and diversify the Nigerian economy, and improve internal security.

Only a few years ago oil was selling for $9 a barrell, what makes u think that it will fall back to that level?
It is highly inprobable that it will fall back to those levels because of China and India. But other economies are currently planning/implementing non-fossil initiatives. The price will surely go down in the near future.
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Foreign Reserves: Why Suffer In The Midst Of Plenty? by Mariory(m): 9:10pm On May 19, 2006
Plus what happens if we spend the money and then the price of Oil crashes? The result will be more borrowing and then back to square one.

Centrist.

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government
control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on
the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention
and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.
Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,
tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what
they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

Even the Irish (not the Northern Irish) who are part of the UK have a Prime Minister so these ideas are not far-fetched.
If you aren't refering to Northern Ireland then you are wrong. The Irish Republic (Republic of Ireland) is an indepent country and not part of the UK. The UK is comprised of the "Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland".

@Jagwar,
It will be difficult joining issues with you on this matter after so much has been said and assimilated by sane, reasonable, responsible and upright people. So, I think I should just ignore you. No point arguing with a short-sighted, shallow minded person like you.

Anyways, I'll advise you read through earlier entries on this matter before going to press. It will surely take off a lot of steam from your already burnt body!
Someone who called for the bombing of innocents is calling someone else short-sighted and shallow minded.

The problem is not with being debt free or not, it is with the use of the so-called loans.
