Yes I do. If you look past the politics (whichever party you support) you will see that there are things to look foward to. Of course there is still a lot of work to do especially as regards to corruption. |
@asiwaju lol first you said it was jealousy and stupidity. And now it has some how become Obasanjo's fault because of his alleged third term agenda. Tell me one advanced country of which someone who is not a national is not required to state how he will financially sustain himself in that country and of the origins of such a financial source. I'll be waiting. |
nobledanie:LMAO ![]() |
Fimmy:God willing, you will meet your Mohammed in the after life as soon as possible so that you and him can ride into the sunset. That way, Earth and Nigeria will be left to decent human beings that value life. |
I found an article on the state of Aba which had some pictures. Scroll down to view pictures. http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/content/view/1602/55/ |
Old Glory:No offence, but do some of you guys ever stop to think about how ridiculous you sound sometimes? How can you hope to link this now with third term? HOW? Where is the connection? SHEESH! ![]() [SACARSIM] I'm sure it all goes back to the assylum offer in the first place right? Even the war in Liberia was part of third term as well. Yes this is all somehow Obasanjo's fault. Obasanjo is the cause of everything bad in the world. [/SACARSIM] |
demmy:Plus each form is barcoded and is serialised. |
toshmann:At least give the darn execise a chance is all I'm saying. Like I said here there are sveral problems with trying to reach all areas in Nigeria not to talk about the politics being played into it and people refusing to be counted. Previous governments (including the British) weather sincerly or not have failed to accurately count the number of Nigerians living in Nigeria. So for the love of God let us try to make this one a success before we start dimissing the Government. Or should we just continue as it was before? What is the alternative? |
Fair point. The British could no longer afford to keep Nigeria and other colonial territories after the second world war. Although they tried in vain to hold onto India. |
How do you know the EFCC doesn't know yet? |
Hero save your breath. There are people who just like to complian. |
otokx:Thanks for hearing my opinion. We have also heard yours which is also what people who like to complain about everything say. Photocopying forms you say? Yeah right. Those forms have computerised serial numbers and bar codes, so making a lot of copies of the same serial numbers won't work. But of course why bother? After all, according to some people everything is about "third term". After all, anything a nigerian government does is a waste of time. So lets just leave the system as it is and keep complaining. Because simply moaning about our situation is the best way to improve our lives. Well Done. Even when the British carried out the first count, they also ran into problems. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060325/ap_on_re_af/counting_nigerians;_ylt=AuvJxT352nu6c9VRrS1VFwm96Q8F;_ylu=X3oDMTBjMHVqMTQ4BHNlYwN5bnN1YmNhdA-- (Last paragraph) |
mamaput: If they had found oil before 1960 they would not have left. (just by the way)Actually, they found oil in 1956. ![]() http://www.nnpcgroup.com/history.htm |
onanugaola:First of all, points A, B, D, and F are all your choice and have absolutely nothing to do with Government. There have been problems in certain areas. There are 36 States in nigeria + FCT and the number of states that have had problems is not up to 10 from what I have heard. And in those States, the problems are only in certain areas not State wide. |
ability:You think Nigeria is a failed state? Go and live in places like Iraq, Somalia and then come back here and say that. LOL @ Biafra. Continue spouting noise about Biafra. Your fellow Nigerians (including easterners) are moving foward while you're living in the past killing yourself slowly with anger. |
Besides, they'll be faced with and engaging in penis pushing and carpet munching in prison so what exactly would locking them up accomplish? *Sighs*
Haha "penis pushing". Never heard it being called that before. Anyways it's a fair point. That is excatly what goes on in prison so locking them up defeats the purpose of locking them up in the first place. If we must go down this road then a fine would probably be more appropriate. |
As much as I disapprove of the third term, I don't see what this has to do with Obasanjo. This is an idea developed entirely in the heads of that particular group of senetors. Or is Obansanjo now responsible for what all senetors do and say? |
Update! Truck loads of Northeners seen leaving Lagos heading to the North to be counted. This will mean lagos will recieve less money. And these same people will come back after the census and put pressure on infastructure that Lagos cannot afford to upgrade to support their numbers. http://www.vanguardngr.com/articles/2002/headline/f120032006.html ![]() |
If the court had found in favour of Ngige (someone who opeanly admitted to rigging elections), everyone would say our justice system doesn't work. The court found in favour of the true winner and people still complain our Justice system doesn't work. You just can't win with some people. Sheesh! |
And what do you suggest? That we continue with the old system? |

Constitution Review: Govs Angry Over Proposed Immunity Clause Removal Barely 72 hours after the Senator Ibrahim Mantu committee proposed the removal of immunity clause as it affects governors from the constitution, governors appear to have taken up arms, threatening to sabotage the third term project. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2006/mar/13/national-13-03-2006-001.htm |
Da Saint:The pictures came from news sites such as reuters and news.yahoo.com. These youths think they are action heros in a movie. Foreign troops are not needed. The military is currently being restricted by the Federal Government to a defensive role only, that is why these boys are still there. |
Not if the immunity clause in the constitution is dropped altogether. And it's looking like that will happen. |
Governors in trouble •Mantu Committee drops immunity clause Trouble may be in the offing for governors of the 36 states as the Joint Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution headed by Deputy Senate President, Alhaji Ibrahim Mantu, recommended that the contentious immunity clause be expunged. http://www.punchng.com/main/article02 |
luridguy:The one that made 419 and the name Nigeria go hand in hand. God forbid! |
Just to say that the JCRC's recommendation still has to be passed by the national Assembly. There may still be hope that the ammended term for officials will be rejected. Does anyone know what the JCRC recommended on the immunuity clause? |

I think mass civil action across the country is required. If it was done, it can also be undone. Just hope this doesn't turn violent. By the way new dimension added. Judge denies halting constitution review JUSTICE Olasumbo Goodluck of an Abuja High Court yesterday denied ordering the National Assembly to halt its ongoing review of the 1999 Constitution, http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/news/article02 |
LoverBwoy:Both of these Governors jumped bail in a foreign country. Why do you think Governors no longer travel out of the country? |
