The police lawyers are establishing the reliability and integrity of the accused. The trial is about who is lying between the police and the accused on the statement first given to the police. The police is trying to establish that the so called "foster father" is an accessory to the crime before or after the crime. That was why he was arrested and tried. Its left for the police to present their evidence and let the court decide.

Yes they should do all they can to establish the fact she is lying but am of the opinion that there are better ways than saying she had sex with the man, what if she says yes tomorrow that she had sex with the man, what has that got to do with a murder case, is that the question been asked in the court? If the man concealed or hid her or any of the items she stole, then He is an accomplice and charged accordingly to that fact, stating in court that they had sex with him is very mundane and irrelevant to this case and that won't discredit her statement at all where are the evidence that they had sex together to discredit her? Or you want to put it on hearsay? That's not admissible in a court of law, any irrelevant point from the prosecution might turn the case upside down and make her go scot free,they should focus on outcome of their investigation and stick to it not irrelevant statements that can backfire on them, am not holding brief for her but my point is our Police has to be properly funded to do forensic jobs that will prove beyond reasonable doubt she committed the offence, its murder we talking about not stealing or fraud, Murder.

What has that got to do with the case of murder at hand, our police need to be more professional, established your case, focus on it and prove it beyond reasonable doubts, that's all, she can have sex with anyone for all I care once she is not a minor, but detaining the man cos he had sex with her?
