I still don't know why we can't have international coalition to dismiss this people, they have killed more humans than their counterparts in the middle east, yet the world leaders that have the technology and where withal continue to ignore them, it's obvious Nigerian government does not have the capability to defeat this animals, lets call a spade a spade, we need help, MURIC Akintola will be very quiet on this one.

Was it not Saraki that threw spanner to the works in making Magu a substantive chairman of EFCC?
the senate reject him twice, the president should av appointed someone else, that's why there is separation of powers, put him no acting capacity for that long was unnecessary, and btw it was the DSS that threw spanners not Saraki... The DSS wrote a letter to Saraki not to confirm him, Saraki only used that opportunity. Something is not just right with all the parties involved.
PoliticsRe: More Join Race To Replace Magu As EFCC Boss by masseratti: 8:53pm On Dec 27, 2019
The lawmakers should come up with a law stating how long anyone in any Govt agency can be in a acting capacity. This is pure illegality, and the executive can use it against the legislatures on other positions that is needed to confirm by the legislature, how i wish Gabi Fawehimi was still alive, we would have had a Supreme Court interpretation to this conundrum, falana is trying but he can't do everything.

it's a federal govt policy to ensure representation for everyone... my cousin applied for chem engineering got chemistry he is from edo State... cut off mark are not fix student performance determines it every year... d lady I learnt is from kogi and her score didn't meet merit neither catchment area since plenty kogites ll apply for Abu less educationally developed states uncore same between fewer spaces for mbbs which plenty folks are gunning for...
I don't understand what you are saying, seems you and the school does not understand what a cut off mark is, cut off mark is strictly based on merit, no other thing should come forth, most schools proud themselves for producing the best brains, that's what "cut off mark" is, another conditions, like state, catchments, sports abilities comes after that.

My point is simply that the school should have known what students who applied to attend scored and determine what their cut off mark will be, rather than announcing a cut of mark that a good number on a state scored, this is so simple, after that they can use other criteria to admit others... This is not rocket science, but this is what have been holding Nigeria back since.

Northern Nigeria thrives on mediocrity, see the kind of president they gave us, someone who never address Nigerians or Nigerian press directly what we are always hearing is this.
The president was ATTRIBUTED saying that no no haram has been defeated
As narrated by Garba shehu he said Mr president when he was about going to his private quarters made this statement
As was narrated by Lai Muhammad the president said that the boko haram sect has been technically defeated he was in London when he made the statement
As was narrated by Demi Adeshina the president was sitting down and was watching the super eagles match when he said that and I quote" insha Allah boko wil
l be defeated
As narrated by Lorita onochie, it was when members of ohaneze came to see him with some Palm wine in daura that he said boko harms was collaborating with IPOB to destabilize the country but they are on their way to be defeated, he was on his palour
And this statement was made same day, our president is a DEITY

A Little More Light
My attention was drawn, by a very good friend, to the story making the rounds, that a certain Goodness Thomas was denied admission by the ABU to read for the degree of MBBS despite scoring 302 in the last UTME.
I made some inquiries about the matter and wish to share my findings with you dear friends.
However, before I do so, let us understand a thing or two about University admission process.
The minimum requirements for University admissions is credit pass in at least 5 subjects including English and Mathematics. This being the minimum requirements does not suggest that a student with distinctions in 6 subjects including English and Mathematics must be admitted.
There are other requirements, and circumstances, that guide the admission process apart from meeting the minimum requirements eg the attainments and performances of other candidates.
Now let's take a look at the case of Goodness Thomas.
She scored 302 in the UTME exams, and 274 in the Post UTME. Thus having an average of 288 out of a maximum of 400 points.
The Ahmadu Bello University has as its catchment area the entire 19 States of Northern Nigeria, being an indigene of Kogi State she belongs to the fold.
However, in the last UTME, more than 20 Kogi State indigenes that applied to ABU for MBBS had scores of 320 or more.
So what do you suggest the University should do? Jump over all those other candidates that had higher scores from her State to give her admission? Admit her alongside all those that scored higher than her in the examination from the same state with her?
The University offered her admission for BSc Human Anatomy.
Remember there is a very low limit to the number of students that can be admitted for MBBS; it is the most competitive programme of study in Nigerian universities.
Which University can afford to give admission to all those that crossed the minimum requirements line?
The Ahmadu Bello University is, I stand to be corrected, the only truly national University in Nigeria today, going by the geographical spread of its staff and students. As our former Vice Chancellor, the late Professor Adamu Nayaya Muhammed of blessed memory was fond of saying "there is no local government area in Nigeria that is not represented in ABU”
This is just an attempt to throw a little more light on the issue. It is not in anyway 'speaking' for the University.

this does not make sense, you don't change the rule during the match, before you set a cutoff mark you ought to know what they scored, catchment area thing can not supercede someone that beats the cut off mark.. This school is a disgrace to education... Point blank.

Dear Asiwaju
We regarded it as rumour when we had you are planning to contest for president come 2023,well,to many like us,it a welcome development, simply because you have paid your dues and more importantly you are true Federalist. But on the other hand Asiwaju,it would have been best if you maintain your position as the Afobaje of this entity called naija.Alot of things are reasons why it best you remain as Afobaje.Baba,Kindly support our very own Fashola or prevail on Attahiru Jega(if must a northerner)to reposition this country. History will be kind to you Baba. But if you so decided you are contesting.we will be left with no option than to support you.

This was what Governor Ambode was talking about when he said that the project will be completed in 2019. When he was challenged he admitted that he was referring to the civil works. The civil works will be completed in 2019, but the signalling, etc. won't have been done.

The MD of LAMATA stated that 90% of the civil works from Mile 2 to Marina have been completed. There's also talk of beginning the rail service from Mile 2 to Marina, but I haven't seen any turntable that will enable the trains to turn around at Mile 2.

I don't think they intend to use a turn table since it's a passenger train and not a freight, they will just have engines at both end of the train, my opinion tho.

Except in a movie, it's been so long i saw Americans using military camouflage to perform on stage or even in their music videos.

One thing i know is that even if it's not against the law but the military should be given some form of respect.

Based on the order of the Peaky blinders.
am very sure those band men are military men, teni's late Father was a lover of music and he was an officer of Nigerian army, maybe they are just showing support for one of their own's daughters.

What happened in Kogi was not substitution. Bello, being the 2nd in the gubernatorial primaries, stepped into the shoes of the late candidate since there cannot be a vacuum.
Imagine a party substituting a candidate 2 days to an election, will inec now reprint ballot papers overnight? Inec has to draw a line somewhere, if not there will be utter chaos.
ok ooo I din hear.
PoliticsRe: Inec: Apc Can’t Replace Akpabio For Akwa Ibom Rerun by masseratti: 2:20pm On Dec 16, 2019
mushystuff:
Parties are free to submit names of candidates and substitute within a specified deadline and after that, no more. INEC specifies that deadline which all parties must comply with. That is why parties that submit names of candidates after that stand disqualified. It is also why when Oby Ezekwesili bowed out of the presidential race after that window closed, INEC replied that she cannot be removed and will remain on the ballot. No need for your opinionated grand standing, the courts will rule based on the law as it is.
ok got your point.
PoliticsRe: Inec: Apc Can’t Replace Akpabio For Akwa Ibom Rerun by masseratti: 2:19pm On Dec 16, 2019
freeze001:
The post above is exactly my point. INEC makes the rules as empowered by the Constitution and the Electoral Act. By the rules, candidates can withdraw or /be substituted within a time frame prescribed by INEC. Once the deadline passes, parties are foreclosed from submitting names or swapping. Read this: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/307585-ezekwesili-cant-withdraw-from-presidential-race-now-inec.html

Here, INEC rejected Ezekwesili's withdrawal from the presidential race because of the same rule. Note that elections have already been conducted and this is a re-run, no one will be allowed to come and inherit votes, they are not transferable. I believe INEC's response in addition to non-substitution, should have been that Akpabio is not allowed to withdraw at this time because deadlines for withdrawals and substitutions have passed. For Kogi, I mentioned somewhere on this thread that his emergence is an anomaly that no one has really bothered to challenge.
I don't know about ezekweli case, just like Bello case, this can be challenged too by the parties involved.
PoliticsRe: Inec: Apc Can’t Replace Akpabio For Akwa Ibom Rerun by masseratti: 12:20pm On Dec 16, 2019
wingmanIII:
No! No party has the right to substitute at any time they like.
You probably read the electoral act without understanding it.
I did.. And in it a candidate can withdraw due to circumstances, death, hill health,or "in capacity" you can't force someone to stand for an election, if that's the case the party can substitute, but to be fair, this issue needs to be tested in the courts to Supreme Court, until then this argument is unnecessary, my own take is that INEC has done something similar before, they av set a precedence and if they are now saying this, they need to tell the public why, or else if the other party should contest this, with a good lawyer, they will trounce INEC.
PoliticsRe: Inec: Apc Can’t Replace Akpabio For Akwa Ibom Rerun by masseratti: 12:04pm On Dec 16, 2019
freeze001:
First, Akpabio is not dead, he has made a conscious decision to step down from the race. Secondly, it is the law, they are not playing God. Whoever you think they would pick would not have fulfilled all the statutory requirements required to a valid candidate so if INEC foolishly admits a replacement and APC is declared winner, it will be successfully challenged at the tribunal. In fact, other contestants can even challenge the validity of such replacement and the court will grant it because there are laid down procedures clearly stipulated by law.
If it is allowed for anyone to drop out midway just because he has better options then political godfathers will cash in big time; they will present a 'popular candidate' to swing votes, mastermind some crap to truncate the process whilst preserving votes earned, then present themselves to 'continue' the race and people will have no choice than to accept such crass imposition. Is that what you want?
huh? Why are you excited with your epistle? Dead or alive ant candidate has the right to withdraw, and the party reserves the right of substitution, not inec, read the electoral acts, before you make comments in public fora, how did you think Bello got there in Kogi?

A dead candidate have no grace period for substitution, you can't be set for election/ reelection and you pull out in stoppage time complaining that you have stomach pain so party should present Mr Williams to INEC as replacement,
Election no be child play sir.
whatever oga, whatever rocks your boat it's a stupid call by inec, and your analogy does not suffice you actually can, read the electoral act, or what did u think brought Bello in Kogi to his seat ab initio, Inec is playing God on this, and if taken to court, inec will be defeated flawlessly. My 2 cents... Nd I don't care... Its just my opinion.

what if ruiz dies before the rematch, does that mean no one else can challenge the champion? Or does that means Ruiz av lost the rematch? Am not a fan but inec is wrong on this, they are playing God.
