I thought the thread was about Oil exploitation facts in Nigeria, not an Igbo domineering contest thread. The sooner this Biafran nation comes up, the better for everyone. SMH! I have never seen so much bitterness spewed with much enthusiasm. You people always magnify this vain ego like a god. I look forward to the mass exodus to your Biafra to see what we will by ourselves do. Quite funny to think we can't survive without you, with the depth of our civilization. Do you think we are Ibibios? |
IF I had my way, I would grant the Igbos their Biafran wish. You people really think anyone is afraid of you setting up your country, meanwhile the actual truth is that we secretly welcome and prepare for it. After the mass exodus back to your country, we would thank you for your efforts and move on with our lives. The ideal truth is that Yorubas have now gotten business consciousness (their core strenght) and setting in other regions from Igbos, just as Igbos have absorbed the education spirit from Yorubas (albeit in lesser intensity). Some words are better left unsaid, so bring on your Biafra. |
ephemm:Lol, no wonder they will have to wait till 2016 to test fly it. Funny |
We are a country of fake people. No wonder makeup business is a multi million naira industry as of today. Rather than let the world know how hopelessly malnourished PDP administration has made the country for a long time, you prefer Baba telling white lies to make up for the inconsistences. There are two people one must never lie to in this world, Doctors and Lawyers. In this case, Doctors are the Indians who could help us, (and they actually did) and the foreign investors who may plead our cause positively. It is good to attract the ones with integrity anyway, not like that PDP has often magnetized to help corner our wealth to their country. We all should stand with Buhari on the state of the nation, because it is a stand for truth. |
This one na misadventure oo, bad bekubeku after you chop bellefuu. When the China ones come out, by the time it falls on your skull, you will know the address of the nearest eyes and brain surgeon, lol |
Even if you succeed in bringing all the igbo states an inch to the sea, with all its economic advantages, What would form the bulk of your export? Since your commercial cities are known more for imports than export. Do you really have the population advantage as a tribe to sustain yourself economically? Even China with its massive population size has recently abandoned one child policy for obvious reasons. Forming a country sounds good, abstractly, but it is tough work in reality. |
I hope Oba Akiolu and the 20,999,999 approximate inhabitants of Lagos are really dancing shoki now. You had a better chance of letting rival politics play the tune of Development well, but you lost it through partisan politics among others. I am sure this would not have been so if PDP was allowed in Lagos, as they would have buckled up to impress the opposition. Now who is to stop them now when they are themselves. All we keep hearing are town hall meetings, plans and worries, instead of sweaty hard labour. Apart from the noise and constant fight, a man that marries 2 wives will enjoy great meals often. I hope Rivers State will learn from this malady. |
Topmaike007:Mr Smartpants There are many younger sports guys out there that can represent the brand better. I dont expect you to understand anyway for obvious reasons |
@OP, did you snap the pics with Tecno camera? I thought the other day, the governor brought investors from Brazil the other day, rather than invite Julius Berger. Anyway, the Igbos don't like people sharing their plight, these are your problems now once your Biafra is actualized, so best wishes. |
These people are so out of touch with trends just like their crappy tv platform. I am not saying Kanu is not a great guy oo but this is 2015 where they could have chosen a younger musical icon that people can better relate with! Who advises Startimes? |
Don't mind all these evil advisers. You have a big share of the concern as so much depends on you and your conscience. First of all, you have to leave the house for another place. You won't want to be in the shoes of the landlady someday. After that, call the woman and explain everything to her on phone, that you had to leave for obvious reasons. Tell her that you hope she handles the matter maturedly. Or if you know any of her friend, go and tell such in their house after you leave. Some really evil girls will not stay with their age range to indulge their pleasure. I wonder how she would feel if that happens to her when she marries one day. |
You people that are abusing those giving their critism are really mediocres. So you expect everyone to be worshipping the fact that a couple of students created a power bike which is expected to be aesthetically appealing as well as functional? I was reading just this morning, how Russia is planning to send Cosmonauts to the moon, which has been done by the Americans since the 1960`s. If you are still stuck in the mediocrity camp, you really should step up your game. The world has gone light years ahead. |
Let's not start an internet crusade over what someone made up from a blog. This news is not authentic. American politicians are not careless talkers like their Nigerian counterpart. Especially for someone highly placed like Donald trump. |
Buhari can appoint his elites from every northern state in all his remaining appointments for all I care, it still would not change the inherent value system in the North. I fear to say that even after his tenure, we may not see much improvement in that political zone. You can never apply make up on the human nature. |
These are really rare traits for a country of vain publicity. In a country where alot barely have enough to eat every night, you still get to see a female blogger flaunt high quality pics of her new house in Lekki among others, yet you never see them use the wealth they were fortunate enough to acquire, to change the lives of their fans positively. Politicians, Pastors and Celebrities are all the same in Nigeria. |
For those calling for the actualization of the Biafran nation, you have my sincere pity. Do you think the Biafran country would be an utopia? I hope you people do sit to think things through. Igbos are known to settle more in other regions for business, so even if you succeed in the creation of your country, will you still expect the same liberality from Yorubas particularly or say Hausa people? Have you reasoned why there are fewer foreigners domineering the Nigerian business sphere compared to other African country? Also, will Okonjo Iweala be your Finance Minister? Perhaps she may give in her best the exact opposite way she did to Nigeria? Who will man your armed force, since your tribe obviously have not had a particular liking for such, overtime. If you say you have more values than you are currently displaying, then I fear even your Biafra will not be a nation of patriotic citizens. Do you also think the Niger Deltans will open their eyes to be plundered again like mere property obtained through inheritance? In summary, you guys really need to wake up, this is 2015. Forming a nation requires more than hegemony and sheer will power. |
9. Nollywood :Should we not be expecting the name Nollywood to refer to an actual place on map? Thank God for the good guys at the movie and music industry that have projected our entertainment globally through creativity , but yet where is the hub we project this brand to the world? Is it at Ebinpejo lane or Idumota where pirated CD's are marketed? The other day, that Female speaker from Terra Kulture in The Platform 2015 talked of how we lacked giant cinema/hall for a major entertainment event in Nigeria today. Shouldn't we have all these together in one place with studios, training schools, costumes etc and name such Nollywood? I mean how much more loss in revenue can we afford in the entertainment sector? |
7. Broadband internet project: We all know how much information is important in today's world. Infact, people at the United Nations are advocating for internet to be included as a universal human right. We all know that the telecoms company have sworn an oath not to keep the prices of unlimited data to affordable limits (not Data for Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp only, WhatTheFcuk bundle). This is because your internet experience is not complete if you cannot stream videos. Imagine this possiblity for million more Nigerians. 8. Government Universities Up grade: few days ago someone thought it wise to brag about which government University has the biggest land area. Upon all the overbloated comparism, many of these lands are lying fallow for giant Iroko trees to acquire Masters in height. Meanwhile, Cotonou for example, a Francophone City has been converted to a mecca for English speaking Universities for Nigerians to target those that cannot afford to travel out to the West. Continued.. N |
Here is a list of projects that has a big influence on the lives of millions of Nigerians if the government has the will power to follow it through. The list is through personal observation and you may add yours too. 1. Lagos Light rail Project : For a city with 21 million people and transport facilities like the 1920's, the elevated fast train project that is on-going has enormous benefits for Lagosians immediately. You needed to see the how the intra city trains launched by Jonathan are packed to brim for you to know that a better and faster one is long overdue. Likewise are safer ferry services for efficient transportation on Lagos water ways 2. Dredging of River Niger: particularly getting heavy water craft to unload at Onitsha will really lift a lot of trailers off the road and relieve stress for the hardworking Igbo entrepreneurs. I dont know the latest about the dredging project. Similar to this is the deep seaport project springing up in some coastal states like Akwa ibom, Cross River, Ondo to decongest the Lagos port. 3. Lagos to Kano by fast train: Not spending 2 days on the road like we currently have. In the immediate period this project is completed, Tomatoes and major food stuffs price at Mile 12 market should come crashing down as well as cheaper rams for the next ileya among others. I think there were plans to connect Lagos and Abuja by fast train sometimes back. 4. The local refinery project: we don't have to work in the oil company to know that refining oil overseas that was mined locally will raise the price considerably. 5. Agro-processing industries in the food hub: If you know people that live in Jos, Markudi and the northern food hubs of the country, have them buy edibles like Tomatoes or Oranges in somewhere like Akwa ibom if they won't scream at the quantity. The problem is actually inefficient transport systems and lack of preservation. I learn alot of perishables spoil on the way as they were not well preserved 6. Energy/power decentalization: I hear there is a ridiculous law that stop states from generating its own electricity for private consumption. What is to stop Ondo state from having massive solar farms as well as Northern states (with wind farms in suitable places) or Enugu using its coal to generate electricity. Even coastal states like Lagos could learn from Western European countries that are investing in tidal Energy. If they got to invest in all these technologies to the point of disconnecting from the National grid, what will stop us from having 24/7 light in Nigeria? ......continued shortly |
I hope Udom and the people of Akwa Ibom are watching this move carefully. You had your chance through Akpabio but he decided to invest in stadiums and entertainment centres. He could have followed through with the Ibaka deep seaport project instead. That could have been easier moving goods to Aba and Onitsha. Here is Cross Rivers rising again with wise economic moves. I think the potentials of a deep seaport and a road linking to the North sounds very serious, economic wise. Since we cant have two deep seaports at the same zone (or will FG commit to such?) We will watch the development from the South West. |
Why should we seek ways to end the massive problems of transportation in Lagos when it will cause a great loss in revenue to Gala, Lacasera and many other companies as well as huge unemployment? They say bad ideas flourish because it is in the interest of popular people. |
Now something is wrong. When one Eze ndigbo wore full regalia that depicts his office to address the king of Akure recently, he was humiliated. Here is a serving governor dressed like a golfcart driver to see royalty and we are all smiling... Yoruba ronu! |
I wanted to shed tears while reading this post, but when I think of where James Ibori is today, (and where Alison Madueke will soon end up), then I rejoice. Time, they say is a funny old business that delights in frustrating one's plan. |
Nice concept. Could have been better if it were named humans of Abeokuta or something. Similar projects are often named after a particular geographic place, say Lagos or New York. Ogun looks more generalised. Try also to continue with the project, Don't stop at few... You never can tell who may see it. |
See Nigerians living in France acting like morons in the last picture! Holding broom instead of the country's flag. They could as well raise used condoms. How unpatriotic! Are we still campaining? |
Ordinary Akara seller can rake in millions per month if serious and professional enough. We are about 21 million in Lagos, imagine targeting a fraction with well done Akara every morning.... Paper Beads+Ankara Craft +Wireworks training in Alakuko, Lagos. September 15th-21st 2015 |
Interesting list. But what of Saeon? Paper Beads+Ankara Craft +Wireworks training in Alakuko, Lagos. September 15th-21st 2015 |
You can ask your questions |
