This is sad and funny at the same time. Coming from people that wants to break away from Nigeria with 5 states, now they want a country of four states where they can't stand each other. That's why nobody will take igbos seriously again. They are just like children that needs ice cream to pacify them when they are agitated. Which other state isn't pure blood igbos? So Atiku that came second in the election isn't presidential material enough abi to be invited abi what about kwankwaso, Sowore and the others? Have you even seen Atiku lobbying any country in his many years of vying for the presidency? Igbo people no dey gree sell land to non-indigenes. They never give appointments to non-indigenes. They sure never protect non- indigenes. I was working in Owerri as a non-indigene when Rocha's was governor. Someone beat me up and almost mobbed me because I do pass his compound regularly without greeting him. No one fought for my behalf. In fact the worst day of my life was when I was travelling to Owerri. The driver stopped on the road and made me almost strip naked because his memory card was missing and I was the one sitting close to him. I cannot remember a day more embarrassing in my life. Civil servants are lazy, fat and overpampered in Nigeria. Here in Abuja, many of them get free vehicles to work, live in fee houses (Or paying next to nothing), gets wardrobe, and other allowances, some of them even have official cars, yet contributes almost nothing to the economy. They go to work Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays arriving 10pm and leaving 3pm those days.
It is the private workers that bears the brunt of labour productivity in this country and no one is advocating their cause. I'll rather demand the government enforce increased minimum wage for private workers, albeit almost impossible. The issue of casualization of staff should be abolished. Moreso, for state governments that are bare paying salaries, where exactly will they get funds to pay an increase in civil servant's salaries? Dey play, just dey play!

If you're not part of the team "how can me a graduate be earning 30,000?" If you gather enough experience with those less paying jobs, you're doing a good work on your CV. You must know what's worth your time and what's not. My advise, since you've done beyond 6 months, you can up the duration of working dates on your CV. Up it to like 2 years. No one bothers to check these things. Improve the quality of your CV with power words. You will sure get a better offer elsewhere. Relocate if you can. Don't let anyone sell you cheap. Best wishes

This is a very damaging parting gift from Buhari to Nigerians. It should have been a less juicy ministry like culture and tourism that that silly outburst should come from. The educational mantle of millions of Nigerians for years, rested in the hands of an inexperienced man. Some words are better left unsaid.

Osibanjo is really entitled and selfish to have thought he would be president after Buhari. Such a tall dream for a short man. After spending 8 good years in the decision making table of a failed administration, he feels that the baton ought to be handed down to him. In a country of 200 million plus people for that matter. Truth is this refinery issue is a big dent to the PR of Peter Obi, no matter how anyone sees it. Tinubu and Obi were both governors at the same time. They both had access to roughly the same resources but one chose to invest in a free trade zone while the other "saved money" and opened a brewery. Reno has finally revealed to us that interests from the state Commonwealth Obi saved is what he used to settle himself to a palatial life after service. No wonder he opted out of retirement benefits. Dude was trying to be a moralistic saint afterwards.
He could have chosen to build a FTZ near Onitsha river port to attract industries around that economic zone, borrowing wisdom from Tinubu. The more we look, the less we see!

So here's a past Nairaland post to buttress my Point. Peter Obi actually planned to build a free trade zone in Onitsha 1 year to the end of his tenure, but he decided to focus on the brewery alone, perhaps for vested interests. He could have opened up the state to viable investments, but alas, he's here talking of consumption to production in 2023 with only investment in brewery.
