Mostly an item to display status symbol, the "I better pass my neighbour" mentality. Though just a few Nigerians do maximise the phone's functional shaa. Paper Beads+Ankara Craft +Wireworks training in Alakuko, Lagos. September 15th-21st 2015 |
Uemployed "housewives" wives are really unfashionable cases in these days of falling oil prices. There are many ways even housewives can make money and be more responsible around homes. Paper Beads+Ankara Craft +Wireworks training in Alakuko, Lagos. September 15th-21st 2015 |
Just 300 naira? Why not add an extra zero bros? Paper Beads+Ankara Craft +Wireworks training in Alakuko, Lagos. September 15th-21st 2015 |

The lucky survivors have the brave people of Makoko to thank. The previous administration thought it wise to demolish their floating structures sometimes back because they were "polluting the lagoon". They should add saving lives to their records |
jpphilips:From your personal message below, it shows you are a mere Northern elite apologist. I must tell you that you have not made yourself quite convincing enough with your cosmetic explanation. Rather than build Agro-allied and food processing industries to maximize your strong points and create the much needed local employment where it is much needed, you had to get your zone involved in the miry business. Let us see how much intelligent the planners are in these days of shale oil, falling oil prices and green energy. |
Eehyah, that is most unfortunate. My sincere commiseration goes to her at this moment. Doing business in Nigeria comes with a lot of risks. Sorry she had to experience it first hand. I pray she bounces back soon enough. |
How exactly is it that we produce crude oil from the coast and pass pipelines millions of kilometres underground to the north and claim that as a success? In the days of Boko haram, what does the north have to do with refining petroleum products when the pipes can easily be hijacked by the evil does? I wont be surprised if we have to deal with cases of oil spillage in the North someday. Economic planners in Nigeria are truly brainless |
If many of you grew from privileged homes where more of your siblings are educated, You will violently defend NYSC and its positive ideals. Imagine a celebrity that ought to know better, spewing out trash on the internet. Now by tomorrow, we will all be throwing tribalistic bombs at each other when we did not experience first hand, that all of us are in the same ship and our challenges are not quite different from each other. At least for one thing, corp members are the core of grassroots education in Nigeria. I served in a village and I know schools with less than 10 teachers, popular community school's for that matter. Now tell me... |
No thanks to the colonialists, the idea of Nairaland would have manifested as one big cocoa farm or worst then I and you might have had this interaction through wrestling at the village square. Buhahahahaha |
janus05:It would have been wiser if you chose not to disclose your unintelligence on the internet |
As a Nigerian currently residing in Benin Republic, I think this statement is not quite bad. In fact, knowing what is obtainable here as comparable with home, I think the president is really right to conclude that we are better off. Nigerians don't just like to hear the truth said back to them in an unambiguous form. |
What is there to waste, learning a language spoken by about 60 million people? Do you know that we are surrounded by francophone countries? In a world of diverse opportunities, and scarce ones at home for that matter, learning a new language like french can be your greatest asset. |
So vaccinating his grand child and drinking #35 milo is a sign of victory to many Nigerians who keeps praising these 'heroic' efforts. Its nearing a hundred days for this tenure and the rest of us knows how things have changed in Nigeria. Let us all keep deceiving ourselves |
Nonsense! We shaa defeated the highly dreaded ebola virus to the envy of other African countries and others. I've never heard that any citizen would die for not meeting the switch anyway. Who really cares to subscribe for the crappy Startimes NOVA bouquet (600 naira) when there is no light to watch it? Not to talk of the most expensive GOTV bouquet |
Brief summary : on the Internet, no one knows you're a dog! |
I guess we are just counting days to align Ondo State to the cult of progressives. It's time the whole of South West take from their age-old wisdom and build a modernist region that all the others can copy from. |
Demdem:Gentleman, there's no point in arguing with Akwa ibomites in the quest for celebrating the hotels and stadiums in their state. As far as they understand, it's the best thing to happen to them. Living in their state, I can't imagine how unequal and polarised the state of their society is. I'm just counting days to go back to civilization. Apart from Uyo, Ikot Epene and perhaps Eket and Oron, there is nothing else worth celebrating about people oriented development. May I remind you guys that we have a northerner no-nonsense president now. |
You people should just stop comparing your state just coming to limelight with any South Western state. Lagos is building The Eko Atlantic city, aimed to be one of the biggest things in Africa shortly. Ogun is supplying the Labour force and getting connected by metro soon, Oyo Is silently copying from Lagos, Ondo will snatch the Ibaka deep seaport project (There's an comparable health center in Ondo town too) , Osun and Ekiti also have their own innovations. It's cos most of you are quite unenlightened and less travelled that you think Akwa ibom state is now suddenly the best in Nigeria. South Western States are far advanced in REAL things, not entertainment and pleasure. |
Impressive project there! Living in Akwa ibom state currently, I will advise the citizens not to forget that their mother state, Cross River at a point in time too, was rapidly transformed into a massive pleasure centre. Today, all we hear of Calabar are it's dirty streets and unoccupied Tinapa shopping malls. Let's face it, Nigeria is not going to be popular for tourism and entertainment till the next couple of years. This is not East Africa with its lions and cool weather, so foreigners are not expected to start trooping in to shop in Nigeria and watch movies in Uyo. Hence, the fate of projects like this rests on Nigerians to support them. Sadly however, we are not known for exploring the outdoors much, no matter our tribe. I only hope the incoming Government will put more citizen development projects in place like power, education, health and industrial development which are at an all time low down here. |

Ehyah. I wonder what would happen if Buhari decides to retain him for the best interests of the country. Anyway, it's sad to see him leave and quite comforting that Okonjo Iweala is leaving too... That woman really used lots of big words to collapse our economy. |
ifyan:Let's put sentiments aside. A political office holder using taxpayers funds to marry a citizen from another country does not sound very wonderful. It's just here in Nigeria that anything goes. We can understand if it a private individual, but if you declared an oath to serve the people, then you don't take such outlandish decision in a civilized setting. |
This Oshiomole of a guy is so out of touch with the Nigerian situation. He is the one that literally told a poor woman to go and die the other day. Now he had to go all the way to Ethiopia to go and marry a young wife. We understand 2Face dancing with South African girls in his videos, but he actually married one from Akwa ibom. These are issues the incoming administration have to deal with. Politicians without patriotic mindset, who are just after their wanton, selfish desire. Let's face it, life is not a fairy tale. |
Please leave Mr Ayiri (the Yoruba translation) to spend his money anyhow. It's his not yours. Get rich or die trying. |
