No matter how much you blog this with beautiful choice of words, it's always going to be a miss. Olajumoke represents an identity whose time has come and nothing should ever try to stop her. We all remember the young boy from Edo state that hitched a ride on a plane, albeit dangerously, but now on full scholarship. These things should tell you that here in Nigeria, people's story can get a dramatic story suddenly. |
The way this young man's destiny is been challenged saddens me. A successful engineer with Ericsson that ought to have been making millions from diversified investments went ahead to fund and support a sessationist radio. If he had so much followership as claimed, why are his supporters not putting their lives on the edge and mobilizing all available resources for his freedom? His current look is someone forsaken but his very own. I fear this Biafra is an on-your-own country! |
I really pray that Innoson gets a better slice of the market than he already is. I was thinking recently that we don't have Nigerian brands that are playing global roles. SABMiller is a South African brand that bought breweries in Europe and in other markets around the world. TATA too was a small company from India or so, that is now a globally recognized brand. We have the population to support our local brands to promote their relevance. I also think we should stop this tribalism nonsense. It does no one any good. Innoson being an Igbo Enterpreneur should not make Igbo people a supreme race and Yorubas or hausas, unwise. |
I would recommend that you inform them plainly that they don't have the right to keep disturbing you since you didn't pull through with the course. Besides they should not expect that they run things their way if they are trying to woo students from other countries. I would even recommend that you send this Nairaland link to them that Nigerians have gotten aware of the scenario could blacklist or shun their future offers through 'caveat emptor'. I think this is what is stopping me from making progress with one online offer I got recently. Some of these things are bound to come with hidden charges |
One day one day, armed robbers like this will still pull one of the weapons they display in their front and wreck havoc right there at the police station. Only in Nigeria will weapons be placed in front of the criminals. Do we really need to see that? |
The igbos know next to nothing about aesthetics. See how they just parked their products carelessly on plastic tables and they said they are doing trade fair. Can't they do a more befitting arrangement, given the important nature of the products in display? |
So you actually mean to say the ambitious school meal program promised by the present administration is to be some designer biscuits? Well, let's hope it is just the appetizer, or at least biscuits with salad, akamu, akara, Egusi soup etc combo. |
My sincere advise, man up and do your wedding as usual. You could have people very unforgiving over issues like this. This is Africa and even God said to give what belongs to Caesar to Ceaser. At the end of the day, you could end up regretting a private wedding. |
emperorchedda:You obviously are not a person of science. By the end of a week or two, even the teeth of the goat would have been digested by the snake. The stomach has extra powerful digestive enzymes. For it to be swallowed whole should tell you that the animal is capable of handling it's digestion. |
I don't sympathize for you much. It's what you get for trying to woo a monstress. Most normal people generally avoid them. Nigerian soldiers are not people to socialize with. Just do them their 'yes sir/ma' and move on quietly. They are only protecting themselves and not the citizens. |
When you go for NYSC, you will know proper that police can't arrest a corper because they are both government officials. The police will have to get you tru ur LI or something. Another thing there is that if such a thing really happened, there is no community in this country that will condone a landlord arresting a corper. |
The thing is Akwa Ibom people are loyal to anything. I did my youth service there and I have this to say about them particularly. Be it Church, friendship, etc they never back out once they commit themselves. Also the PDP led government through Akpabio performed excellently in their own judgement, so there is no reason whatsoever to experiment with governance through opposition party. |
The concept is nice, but have you taken time to get valuable reactions from hoteliers to Polish the idea before you think of marketing? I believe it has a lot of potentials if fine tuned. Do get across |
I'm surprised our very own Okadabooks got no mention here! OKADABOOKS is a fast, simple and fun way to read books without ever leaving your couch! It is claimed to make reading books on mobile devices easier than riding an Okada, or something like that. lol. Do check it out. The app now has these huge cache of Nigerian authors, mostly for free. |
Please Pastor, even God hates this blame game as He expects people to take responsibility. Perhaps if Adam has not blamed Eve but admitted the fact that the Apple was indeed eaten, we won't have a messed up Nigeria. Now 2016 is here and we are still playing the old game. When will APC government start using power words to admit their responsibility? Perhaps they should take a cue from these "We will feed Nigerians, repair the road etc as promised." All we read these days are treats of Nigerians starving to death soon, Structural Adjustment Program that was operational in the 90's or thereabout, now still blaming 16 years of PDP misrule accordingly. |
@Op please don't feel bad. Assume that you are too good for the job as they will never fully appreciate your full worth. Get encouraged and keep forwarding your CV. Your time will still come. |
A sad reminder that death is the greatest equalizer of life. Rich, poor, tall, short etc |
All I can say is that Apple is not being wise by sticking to the exclusivity of their device and platform. The more it is the merrier it always is. Google has just passed Apple to become the most valuable company in the world. Ordinary Facebook that started far behind these companies now has a platform (Whatsapp) used by 1 in 7 people worldwide. Nigerians won't even decide to use Apple again because they have acquired the taste of Android. |
Well, the obas in Yorubaland are normally filled with self pride and never downgrade their status in any instance. Why do you think the oni of Ife had to go and reconcile at the Palace of the Alaafin of Oyo? You know nothing about respect in the Yoruba setting. If they were actually kings, the higher ranking king would have ordered the women to squat to give way for the kings. So it means that the women even have more rank than the Chiefs squatting. Even the women would have naturally taken the initiative as a sign of respect. These are not kings, but highly placed chief. Do you think our kings resemble some of your Obi's that my corper friend once told me that they ride okada and nobody even recognizes their status in your area? |
Where is Innoson motors? I wish he takes a cue from this. Green technology is the future of automobiles now, and this shows it is possible in Africa. |
Oya jaare, our Igbo friends can abuse us freely. It will soon be our turn tomorrow. |
I am glad to finally stumble on some thoughtful thread, other than Denrele's new shoes. I really don't think we are alone in the vastness of the universe. I think there are other worlds and civilizations out there that betters our advancement in all ramification and others that beats theirs in that order. I think humanity is the basic form of a distinctive existence, like single cell protein to something complex, like Chameleon. Like how we have the planets spread out in our solar system in orderly fashion, and how every living organism gets classified orderly too. The big question is do the inhabitants of other worlds out there share our belief systems (like Jesus dying to save their kind and all) Are they United or separated by petty differences? |
Tybello, enough with the fairy tale. Breadsellers don't wear a great gown and do an expensive hair attachment combo. You could just name it the unknown breadseller concept. These types of pictures don't get at us, but the oyinbos cos we all know better. |
That's how these French people always advance their hidden motives strategically. They are always looking for more people to speak their language and recolonize. They should rather advice themselves to go learn English. |
But when he uses 12 billion dollars to buy a gold plated shoe, we would scream corruption. You see how we are our own problems in Nigeria! People go to church to worship God, not to look at the shoes prominent people wear. Please get a life, @op. And to think this article rather graced Nairaland Frontpage means there is serious problems in this country. |
Please @Op, I would like to know if the size of your poultry can take 250 birds successfully. Thanks |
Please my dear op, just accept this in good fate and go search for a better job. In this present day Nigeria, you won't be that type of worker that sues his/her employer and expect me to recruit you in my own company. You could try that in France, US or Britain. If you think you will like to work somewhere again, just swallow the issue maturedly and move on. So much injustices in the workplace but it shouldn't have to be you that would bear the brunt by blowing the whistle. My 1kobo |
The guy is right to comment on such. If the Innoson guy thinks his cars are perfect enough, he should not have the taste for other ones. He could design one of his cars to his taste, but it is bad PR for him to drive a competitor's car. Steve Jobs would not use anything less than Apple because he believes other products are inferior. Charity they say, begins at home. |
gingerman876:I'd like to know how authentic these online courses are in today's Nigeria (especially if it is NUC approved) and do employers actually recognise it? Likewise are we going to actually interact with lectures and course materials with our mobile devices and Opera mini, normal subscription or do we need desktop or better still, a CBT centre before we can get to lectures. |
Poultry is an high risk venture as you can loose all your chickens in one day. Apart from the stress of management, the cost of running a basic farm is on the high side. I think Fisheries has more profit these days Even experienced poultry farmers will tell you . |
Don't you have a smaller version of this? Looks fantastic but pricey jaare abeg. You should have modular small scale units for the average farmer, which may not even have all the bells and whistles listed. |
