Nairaland AdsRe: First Nairaland Dynamic Ad Design Contest by Matthewbriggs(m):
Seun: This reaction suggests that you're the kind of designer who doesn't accept feedback or correction from customers. That's too bad.
I accept feed back, infact I crave for it. My reaction is me just been real. If you were a client who cancels my contract outrightly due to a one word mistake, instead of pointing it out and asking me to fix, I would'nt work for you in the future even if the contract is worth millions. I am a desinger, am human , am not infallible. I therefore expect my client to understand that.

So don't get me wrong. Because I for one respect your decision.
But the fact remains I am not enthusiastic about it.

Seun: According to the competition rules, you were supposed to design an ad for Covenant University. However, you designed an ad for Convenant University. So we can say that you were disqualified for not designing any ad for Covenant University... shocked
You are right, my lesson's been learnt. Desire to compete in the future gone. wink

Seun: You are right. They will all be disqualified. This is really brutal!! I'm not enjoying it but rules are rules... We will have another contest.
Rules:
* Your banners must be 318 pixels wide, 106 pixels tall, in the PNG/JPG format, 30kb or less in file size, and border-less.
* If you use pictures or graphic images, they must be obviously related to the product/service that's being advertised.
* You must be based in Nigeria or have a means of accepting payment from advertisers based in Nigeria.
* Entries must be submitted as attachments on this thread on or before 6:00PM on Sunday the 27th of October, 2013.

The above were the rules, no where was it explicitly stated that spelling errors where grounds for disqualification.

Moreover, my error was not only unprofessional but careless have learnt my lesson. Most importantly its your competition your rules. Do as you please.

Forum GamesRe: Create A Mental Picture Of Nairalanders by Matthewbriggs(m):
One of the beauty and thrills of the anonymous web is that it gives room for imagination. Users get to build a metal images of other users via data collected via their post and pm interaction. This is my mental image of Ids I have seen in the past few days or have interacted with in alphabetical order.

Alosiby92 (The rose) - I stumble on her diary a while ago, titled "Dear future husband" that diary can make a guy just fall in love with her and wish to be that husband she's talking about. She strikes me as young woman in her early 20's, 21years to be precise, has a very beautiful personality, easy going and friendly, Kind of chubby but not fat, average in height, chocolate in completion. She's verrrry emotional, introverted, loves her space has few friends, has a strong sense of self and most importantly loves her origin, She's a proud Ijebu girl.

Caracta (The sharp gurl) - I think her moniker itself gave me first impression about her . She strikes me as a young lady with okay moral standards. Even though she takes God extremely serious, she is quite liberal. Intelligent, professional, very independent and sturbborn. Has a caring soul for the less privilege especially, victims of sexual crime. She is a flirt, afraid of commitment but still searching for that one man that can really understands her and her different multiple personalities. An accountant by profession, she therefore pays attention to detail. She's so Scared of entering in trouble and therefore prefers to play safe but when trouble comes she puts a brave face. Looks strong on the outside but very weak and emotional on the inside, . Least I forget she's averagely beautiful has the body of model, above average in height and kind of fair in complexion. She is ms sunshine.

Gal10 (The woman)- She is the "what you see is what you get" kind of girl, very friendly and open, Meek and kind. She strikes me as a humble, homely and dedicate young lady who loves God. Gal10 loves reading literary work. She's very beautiful and chocolate in color. She's caring, conservative and strikes me as woman any guy would be proud to show off to mama. She is a wife material.

Oguagu (The girl with the bushy eyebrow)- Very Independent, strong willed. A geek and thus she is intelligent and shy. very conservative, very cautious but too trusting. Self driven and never fails to always look out for herself and would go to any length to protective of herself and her interest. Has few friends but loves family. chubby with the possbility of getting fat in the future. She strikes me as someone who would come back to Nigeria to hold a position of power in Nigeria i.e a ministerial position, she is optimistic, uptight and a little bit romantic.

Sexkillz (The lion with a lambs heart):- Bold, daring, blunt, longs for respect and attention. Very brilliant and kind to his friend but ruthless to his enemies, Handsome and fair. Responsible and respectful, obnoxious and proud. fierce on the outside but weak on the inside.

TEA esq (the meek) : Loves food especially tea. Strikes me as very hospitable calm and easy going woman in her late 20's. Even thou she belongs to the legal profession she is Meek and introverted. Doesn't like to talk much, really loves her own space and most importantly doing things on her own pace. Has very few friends but open and loyal to those that belong to her clique. Chubby, beautiful and very well endowed.

Ihedinobi (Mr. Nice guy) - Recently came in contact with some of his post, my first impression was "the dude that wrote this sh*t is definitely a writer". Very intelligent, nice, cultured, good, soft hearted, romantic and caring. Handsome and responsible. A little bit chubby, and cool headed. Proud, judgemental and assertive. He is the definition of a good/nice guy.

It'smodella (the mystery)- Errmh, in my profession i get to work with models and interact with them. coming across this id, I couldn't help but picture her looking like a model slim, tall and fair. She strikes me as wild, social, friendly and proud. Loves Youtube so much and likes to have fun. She's dynamic, weak but puts up a strong girl facade. My impression of her changes. She still remains a mystery that keeps me wondering ...

Kulyie (the pain) - Elderly probably above 30, Kind of bitter and hates men, dark in complexion short, average beautiful but with nice contours and assets. Very introverted and loved her own space. Very independent and wears geeky lenses, very loud, assertive and quarrelsome. Protective of herself and her interests and that of her friends/family. a red hot feminist. Probably Manages her own business or works as a manager in a firm.

Lorreta u (The booby girl): Quite intelligent and young around 22. has nice set of boobies. Quite a flirt a good girl with a touch of feminism. Superficial but has a strong sense of self. Calculative and cold most importantly loves and craves for attention.

Nnomsikio ( Different shades of innocence) : wild, young, naive but experienced. A sex genius. beautiful and slim. a party girl and fun loving. She's evolving from been shallow to intelligent. Kind of Religious and take her rosary very serious.

Popowaa (Let's fall in love): She's like the girl next door, Who makes you fall in love with her over over and over again and after that disappears off to college on onto a new neighborhood. Wild and fun loving. Smart, Confident, loving but brutal, average in height, chocolate in complexion. She believes in love and longs to be loved.

Uyi redia (The man with a voice): A Very intelligent and logical being. short dark and handsome. Humble, outspoken, and very open to criticism. respectful and takes religion very seriously.

Coming up next....

cheesy Even though its fiction, its an epic case of "the good guy doesn't always end up with the girl. The jerks sometimes do... cheesy.

I think I need to re-phrase a line from my earlier post which goes thus.

Matthew briggs: Moreover I would like to correct the notion most good guys have, that because one is a nice/good guy he is therefore entitled or should be rewarded with a good girl. This I think is wrong because the may get the shock of their life that the one good girl they really love may still end up with the bad guy.

I belive good guys should be good not because of his hope of ending up with a good girl. But because life is more fulfiling, rewarding and less stressfull that way. This way he still get to be happy and contented no matter what life throws at them.

Sagamite: Okay o.

Personally, if a girl does not have close to her best to offer me, I would not be interested in her. At the most generous I would engage in a few bootycalls.

I am not such a good guy. I am interested in the very best of my best interest just like women are for theirs.

Definitely not interested in a girl who has given her best to some other guy(s) because she was seeking danger and fun and then when it is going south wants me to come and commit the rest of my life to her till death do part. Worse still when she is not that interested in me, she is just looking for someone to love her and take care of her and her future planned offspring with his resources.

That is not in my best interest. Something I care about deeply and try to cater for.
I 100% agree with you on this. Minus @bolded

Sagamite: Mate, I suggest you try being a bad boy for one year. undecided

Not only would you find life more fulfilling, more rewarding and DEFINITELY less stressful that way, you will find a girl that knows your value and her current life would fit perfectly into your plans for the future (because she would work hard to make it fit).

RomanceRe: "I Want You Back, Dominique!" by Matthewbriggs(m): 9:24pm On Oct 27, 2013
Nice composition. In addition to your writeup. I believe the freedom of choice is something we are all blessed with. As already pointed out every choice has a consequence.

Moreover personally I really don't care if as highlighted by your post that majority of women prefer to waste their youthful life with jerks and decide to hunt for the nice/good guy to settle down with. I really don't care if they succed in there quest or end up with a jerk turned good guy. It's there choice whatever consequences they end up with good or bad is up to them.

Moreover I would like to correct the notion most good guys have, that because one is a nice/good guy he is therefore entitled or should be rewarded with a good girl. This I think is wrong. I belive good guys should be good not because of his hope of ending up with a good girl. But because life is more fulfiling, more rewarding and less stressfull that way.

Personally all I care about, is finding that one person who will make my world stand still. I careless about her past, her mistakes and errors. She's good thank God, she's been bad turned good who am I to judge.

What matters to me is, who she is presently, is there a connection and does her current life fit perfectly into my plans for the future. We are all a bundle of imperfection a work in progress... remember.

Moreover the only clause is if she was foolish enough not to know my value eairler on and after wasting her life wants to play catch up...she's in for a long thing, reason been that I never go back to my vomit. I hardly give people second chances. When I break a brigde it's broken. It's my principle.

Live your life ihedinobi, let the players play, the jerks keep jerking, let the bad girls keep been bad, just keep been the good guy you are, not for anyone or any reward but for YOU.

I promise you one day, you'll find that one woman, that missing rib, who will make would make everything beautiful again , but never forget to keep an open mind to accept her in whatever shade she comes in.

Stumbled on Nairaland around 2010. But I remained a guest. I made the decision to Join nairaland around 2013 as well. Same reason as you. I wanted to comment and air my views on certain topics and issues.

So far it's been quite a ride. The most most interesting thing about this platform is it's people, it's diverse characters and personalities. Via this platform I have been able to evolve as a person, learning from the experience of others, and relearning from my own experiences. It's also helped me have a solid overview of how the average nigerian thinks, their perception of them themselve and their place in this world.

I really can't remember the first profile I visited when I joined this platform. But I can remember that yours was the first one I visited this morning, wink.

Caracta: God bless you. A nice guy to you might be a weak guy to me. Definition differs. The guy i consider a typically bad guy might be a nice guy to a girl out there. It depends on what we believe in. Very personal.
True not everything is in black and white. Taste differs and perception is subjective.
