Christianity Etc › Re: Dear Auntie Esther: Scripture Doesn't Prevent You From Blood Transfusion. See Wh by MaxInDHouse(m): 10:02am On Dec 08, 2025
See honest hearted and sincere individuals talking about God's people and our faith respectfully:

AlphaTaikun:
I CLEARLY stated on this thread that I'm NOT a member (or an adherent) of JW. Just as I stated, it was back in the 1990s via an AWAKE magazine published by the JWs that I FIRST got to know about non-blood transfusion alternatives such as EPO, so I had to do some more research on the Internet on EPO and other alternatives back then in the late 1990s.

Second, based off of your insights here, I appreciate your extra layers of CLARITY and insights into this blood transfusion OR NO blood transfusion alternatives topic. My primary concern and interest in these alternatives to blood transfusions though has to do with the many cases of reported infections of unsuspecting folks in some countries of the world with HIV, Ebola, Lassa Virus, hepatitis variants, etc, through improperly screened blood
. So many people have been known to get wrong genotype results from some diagnostic labs (due to human errors or the use of expired reagents) so getting second or third opinions from more credible diagnosis labs become important.

It's important for folks to choose wisely when thinking of taking blood transfusions and alternatives as well because there are PROS and CONS in every situation. The prerogative to choose wisely is on everyone.

Cheers.

Thanks for explaining it succinctly to him. It's totally bad that some posters are ONLY here with their limited knowledge of medical innovations to just attack the Jehovah's Witnesess folks despite the FACT that as far back as the 1990s alternative methods to replace blood transfusions such as EPO have been created due to the recurrent episodes of innocent people getting infected with improperly screened blood in some countries leading to HIV, Ebola, Lassa Virus, Marburg and other zoonotic infections. You don't require blood transfusions if you don't want it as long as alternatives exist.

People MUST learn to read to understand and I think the JWs have to further enlighten the public worldwide again that they aren't stupid BECAUSE alternative methods to replace blood transfusions exist! INFACT, based off of reading AWAKE magazine since the 1990s, the Jehovah's Witnesess are one of the MOST highly educated and scientifically aware Christian groups ever. The other Christian sect members that keep attack them as being "dogmatic" are the problem because they do NOT get themselves updated on events. I say this as someone who is not even a practicing Xtain. I hate hypocrisy of any kind tbh.

What a thinking.
In politics swords (weapons) must be raised to settle issues but the founder of Christianity says none of his disciples should do such a thing {Matthew 26:52} instead they are to be harmless as dove {Matthew 10:16} so if you are reading stories about people who goes about forcing their beliefs on people using weapons common sense should tell you that such people aren't true followers of the man who abhor the use of weapons in settling issues!🙂

Christianity Etc › Re: What Does The Bible Says About Gambling. Is Gambling A Sin by MaxInDHouse(m): 7:26am On Dec 08, 2025
Jesus taught his disciples how to fish out unbelievers among them by saying:

“If your brother or sister in God’s family does something wrong, go and tell them what they did wrong. Do this when you are alone with them. If they listen to you, then you have helped them to be your brother or sister again. But if they refuse to listen, go to them again and take one or two people with you. Then there will be two or three people who will be able to tell all that happened. If they refuse to listen to them, tell the church. And if they refuse to listen to the church, treat them as you would treat someone who does not know God or who is a tax collector.” Matthew 18:15-17

The question any right thinking person should ask himself is:
"why should one of a member or some members of the church completely reject the counsel from the church?"

The answer is simple: they are insisting on seeing where such counsel is written word for word because there is no one who will boldly reject what is written in the Bible yet claiming he or she is a Bible believer back then.

So this idea of questioning the decision of the elders of the church didn't start today but Jesus has given us the right to remove such ones from our midst {Matthew 18:17 compare to 1Corinthans 5:13} therefore the children of God can know those within and those without!🙂

What was the basis of our discussion in the first place? Gambling.
Why deflect the discussion?
This is about what elders of the church of Christ concluded upon {Matthew 18:17} that gambling is not for the children of God so if you now insist on seeing a scripture where it's written word for word when no church support it then you are like the Jewish nation that rejected Christ and his Apostles because they can't see what they said written word for word in the Old Testament!🙂

Guy i didn't quote you first rather you're the person who mentioned me so if you are not mature and polite enough for the discussion no one is forcing the decision that elders of the church of Christ made on you it's either you are in or out.
So answer the questions if you are sure of what you are saying now!🙂

Deflecting the issue on the table as usual.
Why am I surprised? You can't justify from the scriptures that Gambling is a sin. Why beating about the bush as to Mathew being Jew and the Jews rejecting Jesus. Should I believe in Ifa because I am Yoruba and Ifa is a Yoruba religion? Oga, stop all these childish rigmarole.

Will I want to have a gambler has a child, spouse, parent. I will surely not want it, I will not want to employ a known gambler in my business. Same with yahoo yahoo, alcoholic, drug addict.s etc. Ask those who says gambling is not a sin , if they will like there children or spouse to be a gambler if Yes, then that shall surely be there portion
In the first century some Christians were disobedient to the Apostles and Elders in Jerusalem. 3John:9-10 compare to Ephesians 5:6
The reason is simple: such individuals disagreed with the decisions made by the Apostles on rules guiding the whole association of Christians back then they were claiming that the Apostles were setting standards which is not found in the scriptures nor spoken by Jesus.
They have forgotten that Jesus said to his Apostles:

"I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of the heavens, and whatever you may bind on earth will already be bound in the heavens, and whatever you may loosen on earth will already be loosened in the heavens.” Matthew 16:19

This means whatever the Apostles agreed upon whether it's found in the scriptures or not has been stamped in heaven so whoever disagrees with them has no place in God's Kingdom.

WHY?

Because the foundation of God's Kingdom government was laid in the name of the twelve Apostles {Revelation 21:14} the reason why there is so much contradictions is due to the fact that the world didn't RECOGNIZE the group Jesus is using to feed his disciples globally today and according to Jesus all those disregarding that little group can't see God's Kingdom! Matthew 25:45

• Were the writers of New Testament like Matthew and the rest Jews too?
• If so why did their own people reject the books written by their fellow Jews?
• When Paul said "all scriptures is inspired of God" {2Timothy 3:16} did the Jews as a nation agreed?
• Why did they disagree with such statement?
immaculatesense:
When I say you don't understand scriptures or what people explain to you, you will take I am insulting you and you just showed proof of that.
So, when Paul said in Timothy that No scriptures is written by the will of man but holy men wrote as they were inspired by God. Was Paul talking about Matthew to Revelation then, when he said that? The clear answer is No because they were none existent at the time.
That was why I was so so clear when I said the New testament is the last amendment of the scriptures. The scriptures is from Genesis to Revelation while the New testament Matthew to Revelation is the guiding principle for Gentile Believers which we are part of. The Jews may decide to stick to their old covenant which is not also wrong because it is their cultural instruction. Whether they accept Jesus or not is their individual choice no collective. At least we have nations that are no Jews that also did not accept Jesus, so it is not a matter of being Jew or not, it is a personal choice.

Now from this rule books of believer (New Testament), there is no single place where it was stated that Gambling is a sin. Show me where it is stated clearly unless you believe that the scriptures is not good enough and human can amend them now like you are trying so hard to do now.

What is the Christian scriptures?
The Christian scriptures are 27 books written by Jesus' disciples (friends) Jews till today don't believe these books because they don't see any correlation between the books written by Jesus' friends and books written by their ancient prophets which consists of 39 books.

So the Christian scriptures are from Matthew ~ Revelation known as the New Testament while ancient Jewish writings from Genesis ~ Malachi is known as the Old Testament.

In the first century majority of Jews didn't believe Jesus or his disciples because what they are preaching or teaching can't be easily established in their Old (ancient) scriptures! smiley

immaculatesense:
Is it not from Genesis to Revelation? Why are you separating the word of Jesus from other ones in the scriptures?
You are wrong Sir.
Till today the Jews as in 99% don't accept Jesus of Nazareth as a prophet of their God in fact they refer to him as an impostor! Matthew 27:63 smiley

Christianity’s global spread did not come from fishermen in Galilee alone.
What you know today as CHRISTIANITY is not the same as the works of Jesus' first century disciples rather this is the ANTICHRIST meaning religion bearing a name to camouflage like they belong to Christ but truly they are against Christ.

God has promised to destroy all those in this false religion and it's promoters but His faithful worshipers He will call by another group name! Isaiah 65:15

If you wish to know the true Christians today all you need to do is read what Jesus said about his group and look around you to see which religion is doing exactly what he commanded his disciples! John 15:14

JESUS CHRIST DID NOT EXIST AS AN INDEPENDENT BEING OR PERSONALITY BEFORE HE WAS CONCEIVED. HIS PRE-EXISTENCE ONLY REFERS TO ALLAH'S ETERNAL KNOWLEDGE AND DECREE OF HIS CREATION NOT REALLY AN BEING EXISTING IN HEAVEN BEFORE HE WAS BORN,
This is what the Bible says about Jesus:

He existed in the spirit realms before his coming to the earth. Proverbs 8:22, 30; Micah 5:2

He is the angel who always represent God to fight for God's servants. Exodus 13:21; 14:19 compare to Daniel 12:1; 3:25

He himself confirmed that he existed long ago even before Abraham. John 8:58

He lives in heaven before coming to this planet. John 8:23

So Jesus wasn't one of Adam's offspring but a spirit being in heaven before Adam was created! John 1:1-2

Well, I'm not the overly religious type, I just know gambling has nothing to do with God - it's just a habit that some folks chose to have. Some people chose womanizing, alcoholism, drugs, shoplifting etc over gambling. What do all these have to do with God?
This is why STUDYING the Bible matters not just reading it {Psalms 1:1-3} there are some people God chose to TEACH others because such ones are wise and can discern the principle behind the laws God gave His worshipers! Nehemiah 8:8

There is just one single thing that brings all what God condemned together it's called "POLITICS"

The world in general has a definition for POLITICS but according to God's word it is the evil that's connecting all evil deeds together and making practicers of such evil deeds one family. Galatians 5:19-21

Let me pick GAMBLING which is the topic of discussion on this thread.

When people are thinking of how to get what they never worked for just by risking their money it shows how greedy such individuals are and they are never humble people instead they want to oppress others so even though they win a little the spirit of oppression won't let them rest instead they will continue aiming more which always make them desperate.

YES!
There are people who don't know God's laws but their conscience is working {Romans 2:14-15} such individuals will tell you that staking ₦10 to collect ₦100 is robbing Peter to pay Paul so they won't be a part of such system.

But when someone claims he believes in the Bible God yet expecting God to tell him something conscientious unbelievers knew without God's laws it's like mocking faith in true God!

You said what Jesus said that is not in the scriptures
I will tell you several things Jesus taught that's totally different from what is found written in the scriptures before his time.

Jesus said his disciples should love their enemies something that was never found written in the scriptures and all the prophets before then taught them to hate their enemies! Matthew 5:43-44

Jesus told his disciples to store treasure in heaven whereas no scripture or any of the prophets before him said people should store their treasures in heaven! Matthew 6:19-21

Jesus told his disciples that he is going to prepare a place for them in heaven {John 14:2-3} there is nowhere in the scriptures that says people will go to heaven before his time. Psalms 115:16

Jesus told his listeners they must eat his flesh and drink his blood something that no Israelite prophet ever told them neither was such found written in their scriptures about God's loyal servants! John 6:61-65

Jesus said Elijah has come in person of John the baptist {Matthew 11:11-14} but the name WRITTEN in the scriptures was ELIJAH not John! Malachi 4:5

Please quote where any of these things Jesus is saying were written in the Old Testament that's available before Jesus' times.

So, what is conventional obedience outside the scriptures?
First of all the scriptures was written by men who were inspired by holy spirit as God used them to pen down His words! 2Timothy 3:16; 2Peter 1:21

The understanding of God's word wasn't and will not be given to everyone {Matthew 11:25} that's why few were chosen/selected to TEACH others {Matthew 28:20} while the scriptures is opened for everyone it's understanding is hidden from faithless people {Daniel 12:10} the chosen must add meaning to what is read {Nehemiah 8:8} by the time humble and faithful people throughout the world becomes obedient to what the chosen and the holy spirit concluded upon after they search the scriptures {Act 15:28-29} that's how Christianity works for oneness in thought! John 17:22; 1Corinthans 1:10; 1Peter 3:8

This is why Jesus said it's by their fruits you will know those chosen to lead God's organized people {Matthew 7:15-20} meanwhile only those who becomes obedient to the chosen will have eternal life {Matthew 5:5; Zephaniah 2:2-3} that is why it's important for you to know the fruit first because whether you like it or not you can't see everything in the scriptures before obeying those chosen {1Corinthans 13:7} most times it's what results from their teachings that you need! Matthew 7:16-18

If you are waiting for everything to be written black and white then you wouldn't have accepted Jesus who said so many things that wasn't found written in the scriptures during his days on earth!

The Bible is the rule book. Whatever it condemn is condemned and whatever it is silent about is just you opinion, it doesn't hold water. The Bible never mentioned GAMBLING or FOREX or STOCK market as sin. Who am I to condemn what d Lord has not just based on my view?
If that's how Jesus established his group he won't say to them:

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you." Matthew 28:19-20

First century disciples of Christ won't be fully obedient to whatever the Apostles teach them {Act 2:42} Paul won't tell his fellow Christians to be obedient to those taking the lead in the congregations {Hebrews 13:7, 17} God won't use His holy spirit to select TEACHERS among the Christians {Ephesians 4:11} they won't even have the same line of thought {1Corinthans 1:10} just as Jesus prayed fervently them! John 17:22

So if you don't believe in conventional adherence to rules set by those chosen to lead Jesus' disciples you go binding and loosen whatever your mind permits! Matthew 16:19
