Though the so called THANKSGIVING in churches of Christendom is unscriptural but this is what we found written in God's word: A good name is better than good oil, and the day of death is better than the day of birth. Better to go to the house of mourning than to the house of feasting, for that is the end of every man, and the living should take it to heart. Ecclesiastes 7:1-2 Better is the end of a matter than its beginning. Better to be patient than to be haughty in spirit. The illustration is about holy spirit! The oil simply means the spirit of God that strengthens, reminds and teaches Christians how to survive spiritually in the time of prophecy fulfilment. John 16:12-13; Act 1:8 So if a Christian fails to beg God for the holy spirit {Luke 11:13} which is the spiritual fuel by the time the Christ comes to take away his corulers such a person will surely miss out. Matthew 25:11-13 In the late 19th century it was cristal clear to most Bible readers that they are getting closer to the time Jesus will return but they lack the full understanding of how things will turn out. Most Bible readers expected the destruction of evildoers/earth while others thought they will be taken to heaven alive. So both Jews and Samaritans can find other places to stay among the rest of mankind but it's the land God promised to give His own worshipers they don't deserve! kayjordan:First of all religionists persecuting their fellow humans are not true Christians so withdraw that statement.
