The fixed date is "within Jesus' lifetime" that is why Peter vehemently rebuked Jesus when Jesus talked about his death {Matthew 16:22} they were hoping to start ruling with him during their lifetime with Jesus.
So when they were preaching and teaching in all their neighbourhood it's the idea that Jesus will soon start ruling they all had in mind including John the baptist that's why he expected Jesus to come and rescue him from prison! Matthew 11:2-3

In fact Jesus' statement shattered that hope by telling them he has to sacrifice his body all his disciples deserted him! John 6:66

Most of them believe Jesus will start ruling the world that time and they will be privileged to be his corulers.

• They must seek the peace of their brothers and sisters in other countries even though they only hear how they're working for Christ from them. Colossians 4:3
• They must keep away those who don't want to share the same line of thought regarding judgement from God. Matthew 18:17

If they ever fixed a year, a month or whatever, there is no way to reach that conclusion from the scriptures. A high expectation is already in the land. The Jews see the Messiah as one who will liberate them from Roman captivity and establish his kingdom, but that Jesus disciples fixed a date cannot be concluded from what they said.
