Thousands do pay to watch WrestleMania where body builders perform as actors pretends they are fighting each other.
So if people can pay to attend such shows why not do the same in worship centers to attract more audience?
Don't worry next time watch how many people will attend such a program when next it's advertised and the names of those that fought is listed as side attractions! wink

Man is the God that you think is in the skies.
In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. ‭Psalms 10:4 NIV‬

Why did the Psalmist call an atheist "wicked"?

Well it's because there are many things we don't see yet we can't deny their existence as we are seeing their works.

In the space there is what astronauts call "black holes" they said these are dead stars they are not visible even with the most powerful telescope but what convinced them that these things are there? They explained that something is pulling all objects and it's like swallowing everything close to it.

Now if they're not seeing it yet BELIEVE it exists why do some insist they must see God before believing He exist?

Simple! They want to convince themselves that treating others badly without remorse is nothing bad after all nobody saw them.

Only God can end WARS and He has promised to do so:

He (God) is bringing an end to wars throughout the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the military wagons with fire. Psalms 46:9

How will God do this?

First there must be a global educational program on peace making {Isaiah 2:2-3} so that students of such institution will separate themselves from the rest who still thinks fighting and killing is the best way to settle disparities {Isaiah 2:4} these students must go into each house to educate whoever wants peace {Luke 10:6} but all those turning their head against the instructions from the Prince of Peace {Isaiah 9:6} will be exterminated! Far from being considered. The Bible did not accept polygamy style of marriage rather monogamy.Their creator made them so from the beginning. What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder.
What most people don't understand about the Bible is how God used it to appeal to our heart it has been given to mankind as the most precious gift of all time so instead of using it to justify wickedness we are to use it for teaching, for reproving, for setting matters straight and disciplining in righteousness {2Timothy 3:16} the Bible will never say polygamy is evil because God promised that in the New Covenant He will write his laws in our hearts {Jeremiah 31:33} this will help us to use our own discernment to know if we are fitting for paradise or not! Malachi 3:18

So if you allow God's word to teach, reproved, set matters straight and disciplining you in the way of righteousness its as if you are reasoning with God {Isaiah 1:18} then you will know (without anyone telling you) that polygamy and this will be fully competent and completely equipped as a servant of God! 2Timothy 3:17

In the beginning God gave Adam one wife and it's after the fall of man that many started having multiple partners and there is no single servant of God who practiced polygamy without trouble in their marriage they have to welcome the troubles that come with polygamy. Romans 15:4

The Old Covenant led faithful Israelites to Christ {Deuteronomy 18:18} it is not for their salvation but the New Covenant is established to lead believers to salvation {John 3:16} how do i mean?
When talking about polygamy Jesus response to those asking him is like telling them to go back to the standard God set in the beginning {Matthew 19:4} but why directing his audience to Genesis? Well whoever wants to live forever must accept the standard God set back then regarding one man one woman.
God promised that there will be no pain or tears in Paradise adding all these things has passed away {Revelations 21:3-4} we need to ask ourselves "how possible is it for two women to live as wives of one man by the time we want to enjoy life to the full as youths in God's Kingdom without these women becoming rivals?" Leviticus 18:18
Some may argue that God only said we must not marry two sisters from the same family but is that not what Jacob did?
So if God later condemned it was Jacob right to have done what is now considered to be wrong?
Well in Christianity we are all brothers and sisters in Christ so whoever thinks of marrying more than one wife will surely turn two sisters to rivals and it's certain such a person is not fitting for Paradise!
Christianity Etc › Re: Inaccurate Rendering Of New Word Translation by MaxInDHouse(m): 9:23pm On Dec 23, 2024
MaxInDHouse:
The Bible was originally written in ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Today it is available in whole or in part in over 3,000 languages. The vast majority of people who read the Bible do not understand the original languages and therefore must rely on a translation. What principles should guide how the Bible is translated, and how did these govern the rendering of the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures?
Some might conclude that a strict, word-for-word, interlinear-style translation would enable the reader to get closest to what was expressed in the original languages. However, that is not always the case. Consider a few of the reasons:
No two languages are exactly alike in grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure. A professor of Hebrew, S. R. Driver, wrote that languages “differ not only in grammar and roots, but also . . . in the manner in which ideas are built up into a sentence.” Different languages require quite different thought patterns. “Consequently,” continues Professor Driver, “the forms taken by the sentence in different languages are not the same.” No modern language exactly mirrors the vocabulary and grammar of Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, so a word-for-word translation of the Bible could be unclear or at times could even convey the wrong meaning. The meaning of a word or an expression may vary depending on the context in which it is used. A translator may be able to mirror the literal rendering of the original language in some passages, but this must be done very carefully. Here are some examples of how word-for-word translation can be misunderstood: The Scriptures use the expressions “sleep” and “fall asleep” to refer both to physical sleep and to the sleep of death. (Matthew 28:13; Acts 7:60) When these expressions are used in contexts that refer to death, Bible translators can use such wording as “fall asleep in death,” which helps the modern reader avoid confusion.—1 Corinthians 7:39; 1 Thessalonians 4:13; 2 Peter 3:4.The apostle Paul used an expression found at Ephesians 4:14 that can be literally translated “in the playing of dice of men.” This ancient idiom alludes to the practice of cheating others when using dice. In most languages, a literal rendering of this allusion makes little sense. Translating this expression as “the trickery of men” is a clearer way to convey the meaning. At Romans 12:11, a Greek expression is used that literally means “to the spirit boiling.” This wording does not convey the intended meaning in English, so it is rendered “aglow with the spirit” in this translation. During his famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus used an expression that is often translated “Blessed are the poor in spirit.” (Matthew 5:3, King James Version) But in many languages, a literal rendering of this expression is obscure. In some cases, a strictly literal translation could imply that “the poor in spirit” are mentally unbalanced or lacking in vitality and determination. However, Jesus was here teaching people that their happiness depended, not on satisfying their physical needs, but on recognizing their need for God’s guidance. (Luke 6:20) Thus, such renderings as “those conscious of their spiritual need” or “those who know their need for God” convey more accurately the meaning of the original expression.—Matthew 5:3; The New Testament in Modern English. In many contexts, the Hebrew word translated “jealousy” corresponds to the common meaning of the English word, namely, to feel anger over the apparent unfaithfulness of a close associate or to envy others for their possessions. (Proverbs 6:34; Isaiah 11:13) However, the same Hebrew word also has a positive connotation. For example, it may be used of the “zeal,” or protective ardor, that Jehovah shows for his servants or of his “requiring exclusive devotion.” (Exodus 34:14; 2 Kings 19:31; Ezekiel 5:13; Zechariah 8:2) It may also be used of the “zeal” that his faithful servants have for God and his worship or of their ‘tolerating no rivalry’ toward him.—Psalm 69:9; 119:139; Numbers 25:11.The Hebrew expression that usually refers to the human hand has a wide variety of meanings. Depending on the context, this word may be rendered “authority,” “generosity,” or “power.” (2 Samuel 8:3; 1 Kings 10:13; Proverbs 18:21) In fact, this particular word is translated over 40 different ways in the English edition of the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. In view of these factors, Bible translation involves more than simply rendering an original-language word with the same term each time it occurs. A translator must use good judgment in order to select words in the target language that best represent the ideas of the original-language text. In addition, there is a need to structure the sentences in a way that conforms to the rules of grammar of the target language, making the text easy to read. At the same time, extremes in rewording the text must be avoided. A translator who liberally paraphrases the Bible according to how he interprets the overall idea could distort the meaning of the text. How so? The translator may erroneously insert his opinion of what the original text means or may omit important details contained in the original text. So while paraphrases of the Bible may be easy to read, their very freeness at times may prevent the reader from getting the true message of the text. Doctrinal bias can easily color a translator’s work. For example, Matthew 7:13 says: “Spacious is the road leading off into destruction.” Some translators, perhaps affected by doctrinal bias, have used the term “hell” rather than what the Greek term really means, namely, “destruction.” A Bible translator must also consider that the Bible was written using the common, everyday language of average people, such as farmers, shepherds, and fishermen. (Nehemiah 8:8, 12; Acts 4:13) Therefore, a good translation of the Bible makes the message it contains understandable to sincere people, regardless of their background. Clear, common, readily understood expressions are preferred over terms that are rarely used by the average person. Quite a number of Bible translators have taken the unjustifiable liberty of omitting God’s name, Jehovah, from modern translations even though that name is found in ancient Bible manuscripts. (See Appendix A4.) Many translations replace the name with a title, such as “Lord,” and some even obscure the fact that God has a name. For example, in some translations, Jesus’ prayer recorded at John 17:26 reads: “I made you known to them,” and at John 17:6, “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me.” However, a faithful rendering of Jesus’ prayer reads: “I have made your name known to them,” and “I have made your name manifest to the men whom you gave me.” As stated in the foreword to the original English edition of the New World Translation: “We offer no paraphrase of the Scriptures. Our endeavor all through has been to give as literal a translation as possible, where the modern English idiom allows and where a literal rendition does not for any clumsiness hide the thought.” Thus, the New World Bible Translation Committee has endeavored to strike a balance between using words and phrasing that mirror the original and, at the same time, avoiding wording that reads awkwardly or hides the intended thought. As a result, the Bible can be read with ease and the reader can have full confidence that its inspired message has been transmitted faithfully.—1 Thessalonians 2:13.A reliable translation must: Sanctify God’s name by restoring it to its rightful place in the Scriptures.—Matthew 6:9.Accurately convey the original message that was inspired by God.—2 Timothy 3:16.Translate expressions literally when the wording and structure of the target language allow for such renderings of the original-language text. Communicate the correct sense of a word or a phrase when a literal rendering would distort or obscure the meaning. Use natural, easy-to-understand language that encourages reading.—Nehemiah 8:8, 12

Firstly, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on both men and women had nothing to do with whether women can lead service or not. That actually happened in fulfillment of the promise of God in Joel 2:28-29. That is why in some churches we have female Prophets but they can't lead service when men are present, baptized or not, they could only be allowed to say the closing prayer.
Well women aren't allowed to lead in sacred service to God and for your information prayer is part of sacred service to God too.

How many are asking this important question?

Which one out of all these religions about forty thousand different religious groups claiming Christians is practicing what Jesus taught?

https://www.nairaland.com/8046217/religion-practicing-what-jesus-taught

If we continue to ignore this question everyone will defend whatever they practice as long as they can quote a phrase to back it up.

I remember my uncle an ifá Priest when he quoted where Jesus was using his fingers to write something on the ground he said Jesus was consulting ifá to know how he should answer those that wanted to stone a promiscuous woman:

They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. ‭John 8:6

So don't be surprised that any religion can use a phrase to support whatever they practice as long as such a phrase is found in the Bible! smiley

Why did Matthew badly misquote from Zechariah 11:12-13, which mentions thirty pieces of silver being cast to the potter in the house of the Lord:
"Then I said to them, 'If it is agreeable to you, give me my wages; and if not, refrain.' So they weighed out for my wages thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said to me, 'Throw it to the potter'—that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord for the potter."

Where did Jeremiah say this in Matthew 27:9-10, NKJV: Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced, 10 and gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.” Matthew 27:9-10, NKJV.

God Almighty of the Original Torah in the first Temple in Jerusalem is the only True God.
We shouldn't forget that some scrolls has not been found but since the first century Jews were closer to the time those scrolls were written Matthew must be quoting what Jeremiah and Zechariah both mentioned but by the time the Bible was compiled it was only Zechariah's prophecy that was found.

Take for instance both Isaiah and Micah were inspired to write the same prophecy regarding the end time:
In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. ‭Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3

Imagine someone quoted this verses in the first century and ascribed it to Micah but in Isaiah's scrolls‬ this part is missing what do you think people like you will say regarding the one who quoted and say it's Isaiah? undecided

After Russell's death, a crisis surrounding Rutherford's leadership of the society culminated in a movement-wide schism. As many as three-quarters of the approximately 50,000 Bible Students associated in 1917 had left by 1931. This resulted in the formation of several groups with variations of the name Bible Students. Those who remained associated with the Watch Tower Society adopted the name JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES in 1931, while those who severed ties with the Society formed their own groups including the Pastoral Bible Institute in 1918, the Laymen's Home Missionary Movement in 1919, and the Dawn Bible Students Association in 1929.

NO!
It's not all believers that will go to heaven but it's only baptized believers that can make it into the list of those going to heaven.
WHY?
Jesus said the Kingdom of heaven belongs to only BORN AGAIN and a person can't be BORN AGAIN unless he is born of WATER (baptism by water) and SPIRIT (baptism by spirit) {John 3:3-5} such ones no longer have the hope of living in Paradise where humans live {Luke 20:34-36} because they will be taken away to heaven where SPIRITS alone dwells that's why John the baptist who also believe in Jesus can't make it into that least! The crux of the matter is the removal of the words, ' the spirit says expressly'. Saying expressly' and ' inspired word.'
Mind you, Paul was writing to Timothy directly and used exact words.
The question is.
1.Did the 'spirit' say....
Inspire and saying are they the same?
Ezra and the Levites putting meaning to the laws written by Moses weren't the inspired writers so how do you think those listening to them will feel when the exact words that Moses wrote was not the same as what Ezra and the Levites used when putting meaning to the inspired writings?

And they continued reading aloud from the book, from the Law of the true God, clearly explaining it and putting meaning into it; so they helped the people to understand what was being read. Nehemiah 8:5-8

The GOVERNING BODY of Jehovah's Witnesses has put meaning into what we found written in the Bible so whether you approve their WORK or not what matters to someone like me is the saying of Jesus who said:

“Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?" Matthew 24:45

Just like Ezra and the Levites did this BODY of anointed men have done their own job and it's making the millions following them zealous in doing the work Jesus assigned to all his disciples {Matthew 28:19-20} and they are fulfilling what God promised in the Bible book of Isaiah 2:2-4 and repeated @ Micah 4:1-3

There is no other religion performing better than this group in doing God's will.

So going by what apostle Paul himself wrote in the Bible book of Galatians 5:22-23

On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MILDNESS, SELF-CONTROL.Against such things there is no law.

Jehovah's Witnesses globally has turned millions of youths into something that we can be proud of so that the FRUIT expected of true believers are clearly noticed among them so there is no law against this group their translation is achieving what is expected among true believers! Matthew 7:16-18

The Author of the Bible purposefully inspired the writers to pen down words that even the writers can't comprehend:

Now as for me, I heard, but I could not understand; so I said: “O my lord, what will be the outcome of these things?” Daniel 12:8

So God only instructed them to pen down the words and conceal it because it's meant for His true worshipers in the end time:

Then he said: “Go, Daniel, because the words are to be kept secret and sealed up until the time of the end. Many will cleanse themselves and whiten themselves and will be refined. And the wicked ones will act wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand; but those having insight will understand." Daniel 12:9-10

So it's not be understood by all kinds of people only faithful ones {2Thessalonians 3:2} but how can faithful people identify their kind in the end time?

God answered:

"At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance was written before him for those fearing Jehovah and for those meditating on his name" Malachi 3:16

Jehovah said in this way they will identify their kind among humankind:

And you will again see the distinction between a righteous person and a wicked person, between one serving God and one not serving him. Malachi 3:18

But what will they be doing after identifying themselves?

God answered again:

They will beat their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, Nor will they learn war anymore. Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3

After identifying themselves they will us God's word as yardstick to settle their disparities peacefully among themselves, divert their resources into production of food and information materials, stop the making, buying, selling and using weapons against their neighbors and vow never to raise weapons against their neighbors again!

This is the reason why God gave mankind that book called Bible not for each individual to say:

"I understand God's word because Holy Spirit interpreted it for me"

But when Satan comes with his schemes like politics and racism to make you hate your neighbour you trash your Bible and join others in fighting and killings your neighbours including your so called fellow believers! Revelations 6:3-4

That's why Jesus said only those doing the will of God will be saved not those calling him "Lord Lord" Matthew 7:21-23

So if you don't know the purpose of God's word you will choose whatever interpretation that pleases you but such will never help you to RECOGNIZE the gathering of Holy Ones! Luke 17:37

The post is not meant for you rather it's meant for other followers who may wish to know why Ezra need to add meaning to the reading of God's word!

Ezʹra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was above all the people. As he opened it, all the people stood up. Then Ezʹra praised Jehovah the true God, the great One, at which all the people answered, “Amen! Amen!” and lifted up their hands. They then bowed low and prostrated themselves to Jehovah with their faces to the ground. And Jeshʹu·a, Baʹni, She·re·biʹah, Jaʹmin, Akʹkub, Shabʹbe·thai, Ho·diʹah, Ma·a·seiʹah, Ke·liʹta, Az·a·riʹah, Joʹza·bad, Haʹnan, and Pe·laʹiah, who were Levites, were explaining the Law to the people, while the people remained standing.  And they continued reading aloud from the book, from the Law of the true God, clearly explaining it and putting meaning into it; so they helped the people to understand what was being read. Nehemiah 8:5-8

This is why only Jehovah's Witnesses can act in line with God's will by doing all what the above prophecies listed as if they own the Bible whereas all other religions can't confidently point to the FINE WORKS their faith is producing in line with God's word! smiley
Christianity Etc › Re: The Misconception Of Proverbs 18:22: Advice To Young Men by MaxInDHouse(m): 3:46am On Dec 23, 2024
Rapmoney:
Many young men have delved into unfortunate marital union based on the common misconception attached to Proverbs 18:22 which states that "He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favours from the Lord".

Do not be deceived. There is no scientific, cultural, social, religious or economic evidence that once a man gets married to a woman, he begins to obtain favours.
You contradicted yourself unknowingly with the two paragraphs!

God's word didn't say
"when a man gets married"
but
"when a man finds a wife"
You can find a wife in any geographical location on this planet it might even be a girl living nearby but it takes the grace of God to IDENTIFY a wife because most people think it's the woman you marry that's a wife but that's the world's thinking not God's.
Try to meditate thoroughly on that phrase again:
When a man finds a wife!

Check the qualities of a wife in the Bible book of Proverbs 31:

Who can find a capable wife? Her value is far more than that of corals. Her husband trusts her from his heart, And he lacks nothing of value.  She rewards him with good, not bad, All the days of her life. She obtains wool and linen; She delights to work with her hands. She is like the ships of a merchant, Bringing her food in from afar. She also rises while it is still night, Providing food for her household And portions for her female servants. She sets her mind on a field and buys it; She plants a vineyard from her own labors. She prepares herself for hard work, And she strengthens her arms. She sees that her trading is profitable; Her lamp does not go out at night. Her hands seize the distaff, And her hands take hold of the spindle.  She extends her palm to the lowly one, And she opens her hands to the poor. She does not worry about her household because of the snow, For her whole household is clothed in warm garments. She makes her own bed covers. Her clothing is of linen and purple wool. Her husband is well-known in the city gates, Where he sits among the elders of the land. She makes and sells linen garments And supplies belts to the merchants. She is clothed with strength and splendor, And she looks to the future with confidence.  She opens her mouth in wisdom; The law of kindness is on her tongue. She watches over the activity of her household, And the bread of laziness she does not eat. Her children rise up and declare her happy; Her husband rises up and praises her. There are many capable women, But you—you surpass them all.  Charm may be false, and beauty may be fleeting, But the woman who fears Jehovah will be praised. Give her the reward for what she does, And let her works praise her in the city gates. Proverbs 31:10-31

The above is description of a WIFE MATERIAL not just a marriage mate.
God bless you and may you have PEACE!

Can you provide this verse where Paul said this so we all can learn
But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. ‭1Corinthians 11:3

In sacred service under Christianity God is the head over the Christ, Christ is head over all the congregation and man is head over woman.
So woman shouldn't take the lead in worship because angels are jealous for pure worship and they can harm anyone who goes against this arrangement! 1Corinthians 11:10

After the event in Pentecost you can not be a Christian until after baptism so if it's a woman that's baptized in a gathering she must take the lead in sacred service to the God of Christianity pending the time a male will take over from her after getting baptized.

Thanks!
Christianity Etc › Re: Why People Try To Guilt Trip You For Not Going To Church? by MaxInDHouse(m): 8:43pm On Dec 22, 2024
It's human nature to feel indebted regarding worship so if you don't have the same feelings they will QUESTION you thinking you're in some cult or coven because to them there is no human who doesn't want people around to join them in celebrating one thing or another and the easiest means of getting into such a gathering is through the church.

Can you kindly provide the verse in which it was written that women could prophesy in CHURCH as long as they had their head covered.

I think you were referring to 1 Corinthians 11:5 which says;

"But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven."

Now, my questions are:
1. Where was church mentioned in that chapter?
2. Is it only in church that people can pray and prophesy?
Paul actually said a woman can lead service in the church for one reason:

There is no baptized male in the gathering so as a sign of respect for the position that belongs only to males she must use a head covering.

Would do you think you did up there? Hmm?
I'll tell you for free, using your brain for a change, albeit misusing it with the bad influence of the Governing Body

Soot trying to call pot black. Snowflake trying to call avalanche white

1/ Please tell how exactly did Jesus reject being Good
2/ Provide here verbatim how Jesus allegedly 'rejected 'it', immediately and gave the credit to his father and God' sic
3/ What in its original form does Jehovah mean please? smiley

Personal text: Jesus is not a theologian. He is God who told stories.
Well you can fabricate whatever you want the Christ said only one person is GOOD and that person is GOD! wink
