I don't understand your question. What really is it that you want to know. Come out openly
You said your grandmother knows that getting baptized makes someone a Christian and receiving holy spirit makes the person a BORN AGAIN yet you said she doesn't know what Born Again means! huh

Now that you have returned, I hope you find the courage to answer my questions in your other thread.
I hope you wouldn't change your mind again when I start hitting with questions grin cheesy grin grin
Can anyone practice what they never learned? undecided

You have answered your question. Congrats. So my grandma may be Born again and know what it means to be born again without being able to define the phase right?
That's all I have been saying all night.
So you could ask her, are you born again and she may not be able to answer but if you ask if she had been baptized and received the Holy Ghost, she would say yes.
So what other explanations is there if she knows that baptism and Holy Spirit makes one a Born Again? undecided

I thought you said a Christian are those who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. He taught you to be born again to enter the kingdom of God. Do what is your point?
According to Jesus being a Christian is by choice as the listener decides to PRACTICE what Jesus taught but being BORN AGAIN is not PRACTICAL God chooses anyone He wants among those practicing what Jesus taught it's not a must that God will choose a person to become born again it's solely based on God's own choice not human effort.

That's why Jesus never taught anyone how they can become BORN AGAIN he only explains what will happen when they become BORN AGAIN!

tctrills:
So you finally get my point. Now does that make her any less of a Christian than the person who can define the phase Born again?
You are slowly coming around.
Defining something doesn't mean the person is involved in it.

I can define many things simply because i was taught that doesn't mean i am involved in that thing.
For instance i knows the job of a policeman, fireman, plumber, bricklayer, tailor and many more that doesn't mean i'm into any of these.

The point here is she can't be a Born Again when she doesn't know what it means to be born again and someone who defines born again may not necessarily be a Born Again.
For instance King Agrippa knew what it means to be a Christian but he never became a Christian because he doesn't know why he should be one! undecided

That's my point that even things that happen to everyone naturally, you may perfectly understand it since it happens to you but you may not know the term unless you are taught.
My grandma was taught to believe in Christ, she was baptized and received the Spirit but your point is that because she may not be able to define the phase Born again means she was not a Christian. How does that make sense to you.
I even praised you as the smarter one.
Please when you turn to lying openly it irritates others!

I never said the highlighted what i asked you is about BORN AGAIN and not BEING a CHRISTIAN! undecided

My grandma knows it's important to get baptized but she doesn't know the word Born Again. Please stop being this slow. Even your partner has got it and moved on
Someone must have PREACHED and TAUGHT her before she knew it's importance so they never taught her anything about BORN AGAIN that's why she doesn't know.

Guy we are Africans before the Bible came to this side of the world nobody thought of Christ or Christianity that's why i told you that people who lived before Jesus can't be Christians since no one taught them what Jesus preached and taught which can qualify them to become Christians if they choose to practice it! undecided

So if a boy doesn't know the word masturbation does it mean he doesn't know he masturbates?
If a girl has never heard the word Virgin does it mean she would not know when she is no longer a virgin.
You guys have finished all your serious questioning and it's now time for child's play?
Please let's get serious.
Masturbating and virginity comes natural as men often release semens during sleep or during subconsciousness and all females are virgins before mating but taking steps into practicing what someone TEACH doesn't occur naturally rather you get convinced when millions around you doesn't even think it's necessary doing so! huh

Again you seem slow here but I will help you.
You can believe in Christ, be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost without knowing the word "Born again" Being able to define the word born again is not a qualification of Christianity.
Please tell me you understand now.
This is why i don't like chatting with you.

I am an African so i don't have any business with Jesus, Jews or the Bible definitely someone must have preached to convince me before i can decide to take the step into becoming a Christian which includes all those stuff. So there is no way i can believe in Jesus and get baptized without knowing it's important! undecided

The question:
Michael547:
Can one be born again and not know that he is born again?
Your response:
tctrills:
No but one can be born again without knowing the meaning of the word "Born Again"
So it means she is BORN AGAIN but she doesn't know since she doesn't understand the meaning of Born Again!
Christianity Etc › Re: JW 005 What Is The Difference Between Christians And Jehovah's Witnesses? by MaxInDHouse(op): 10:31pm On Sep 07, 2024
tctrills:
No please apply your understanding. She is born again but doesn't know the meaning of the phase "Born again"
So if she doesn't know the meaning of the phrase born again it still boils down to the same point that she doesn't know whether she is born again or not! huh

Satan at work!

He knew that since Jesus is the one and only human (born perfect) whose sacrificial death is enough to redeem all obedient mankind then he should just be killed as a baby.
But then Jesus has two major assignments to fulfill on this planet:

(1) To teach obedient humans how they can decode Satan's schemes which he has been using for thousands of years to mislead people.

(2) To lay down his perfect human life as a sacrifice for the redemption of obedient mankind.

So when people work together to put what Jesus taught to practice they will destroy Satan's plans that's making people to kill people {Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3}that's why God word referred to Jesus as the Prince of Peace! Isaiah 9:6

May you have PEACE!

"the bible is not a science book"
That's just it.
The Bible is not a science textbook in fact the Author summarized His purpose for inspiring the writers:

"This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, The One teaching you to benefit yourself, The One guiding you in the way you should walk. If only you would pay attention to my commandments! Then your PEACE would become just like a river And your righteousness like the waves of the sea" Isaiah 48:17-18

Highlighted in blue says it all God inspired Bible writers to help adherents of His book form one big and happy family of peace loving worshipers. Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3

This has been FULFILLED! smiley

MaxInDHouse:
A young Jewish man in the first century named Jesus of Nazareth is first BORN in God's house so he commissioned a group to help Jehovah's Witnesses connect their kind throughout the earth the group was known in the first century by the group name "CHRISTIANS"
JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES are faithful, loyal and obedient humans who love God with all their heart, soul, straight and mind {Mark 12:30} due to Adamic sin inhabitants of the earth did not know God's will so they wanted to stay in just one geographical location {Genesis 11:4} whereas God wanted humans to live in virtually all the earth {Genesis 1:26-27} that is why God confused their language and they scattered each person going with whoever is able to speak his or her language {Genesis 11:5-9} they moved along with their idols yet God loves them and looking forward to a time when He will unite faithful, loyal and obedient ones among them to form one big and happy family of peace loving worshipers {Isaiah 2:2-4; Micah 4:1-3} so that they will all speak as if they're conversing in one language {Zephaniah 3:9} that is what Jesus of Nazareth came to do.

Jesus' ministry is the beginning of a new dawn for Jehovah's Witnesses as they move around the planet to connect their kind {Matthew 28:19-20 compare to Malachi 3:16} through the work Jesus commissioned which is preaching and teaching obedient mankind those involved in this work are called CHRISTIANS but it's not all CHRISTIANS that are ready to endure to the end {John 6:66; Matthew 24:13} those sticking to God's arrangement come what may after knowing God's will are JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES.

In the year 1931 God began calling His true worshipers by that new group name {Isaiah 65:15} because that's what He intended calling all His faithful servants from the beginning! Isaiah 43:10-12; Hebrews 11:4-34; 12:1

Nice post.
But I have a few questions.
Matthew 17:11
Jesus Christ said John the Baptist would restore all things. Can you list the things that John restored.
Secondly, John will turn the heart of the father's to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers? How did he do it. Who are the father's and who are their children.
Thanks for your time but i don't think i will like to discuss with you since we never agreed on who is a Christian! smiley

KJV Bible

And the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to HIS TEMPLE.
My sincere question to you is who owns the temple built in Jerusalem? Is it Yahweh or Jehovah how you people choose to call Him?

Jesus Christ whom you have just confirmed that is Lord is saying the temple you people built for your Yahweh is mine. This Lord who is coming is saying I own this temple that your father's worshipped in. I am the God of this temple.

You really don't know God. God can be whatever he wants to be. He proved that by coming in the flesh in Jesus Christ.
Well Jesus was CRYING to Jehovah to SAVE him! Hebrews 5:7

I have seen your resent post about John the Baptist... Who sent John the Baptist? Was John the Baptist sent by God? Malachi 3:1 is crystal clear that the person coming after John the Baptist is the Lord himself. Their God whom they seek and worship was the one coming.

This is not me starting a back and forth argument with you.
Jesus came to represent the Almighty God that is why God said He is the one coming.
When God said He is going to Egypt to deliver the Israelites who did Pharaoh and the people see? Was it God Almighty?
NO! It was Moses who stood before Pharaoh as GOD while Aaron stood as his prophet {Exodus 7:1} would you say Moses is Jehovah since he represented Jehovah?

Again Moses told the Israelites that God will send another prophet like Moses to the Israelites {Deuteronomy 18:18-19} apostle Peter confirmed that Jesus is that prophet who came in the manner of Moses {Act 3:22-26} just as Moses served as GOD in his time {Exodus 7:1} Jesus of Nazareth also served as GOD in his time! John 1:1

God Almighty has never referred to Himself as servant because He was never sent on any errand unlike Jesus who was sent by someone GREATER than him! John 3:16; 14:28
