Good write up. I have always in support of local products, I was suprised and disappointed that the president met the Volkswagen representatives rather than Innoson motors rep.

We are missing massive revenue generation ,economic and employment growth by ignoring Innoson motors. The government should put ethicity aside and support them.

Very lame and empty Crap from a clueless spokesman. No substance, only continual refrence to the past. I can't even pick one single reason why Buhari is travelling. PMB should sack his two spoken immediately. These guys are journalists for crying out loud not image makers or branding expert.

Ameachi has been found guilty by commission of enquiry set up by river state government and he has not been invited by EFCC, a lawyer from River state has submitted detail allegations of corruption against him to both the presidency and EFCC, yet no arrest made, instead he been rewarded with a ministerial post.

Both cases of inflated contracts are condemnable, however may I remind you that Fashola did his without breaking the law; Fashola got an approval from the state assembly so what he did might have been morally wrong but it wasnt illegal.

On the other hand, Oduah did not get the budget approval from the NASS for those cars but she still went ahead and bought them at a price which was eventually even above the price she presented to the NASS in the first instance which was even rejected. In summary, Oduah made illegal extra-budgetary expenses.

To the subject, i agree with you that public perception may cite "insensitivity" in the reinstatement. However, if you read beyond the headlines, you will notice that there was a statutory panel of enquiry saddled with the responsibility of probing the sack. They found the accused not guilty. By law, will it be apt for the accused to remain accursed after being found innocent? If truly he had a hand in the atrocities, he would someday pay accordingly.

Buhari obviously had no influence in this. If he made any efforts to interfere with the PSC's decision he would be termed a dictator by the opposition.

You are right and I guess the jab is unnecessary but the president need to balance the mood of the nation with whatever decision he's going to make......even if the guy is found not guilty, this is not the time to make such a pardon...it seems Buhari is so insensitive to the feelings of other ethnicity. .for crying out loud, Nigeria is a diverse and very volatile country. I think there are more pressing and important issue at stake.

It is acceptable practice all over the world for the president to quietly intervene in a sensitive issue like this one.
