We need to create an environment that disuade crime. Peace is not the absence of war. There is war against your gender. U guys need to stand up |

Basildvalour: Piteous generation where a woman could wish the husband death and also make plans to make true her wish. Actually, it goes both ways. Did u read the story. The husband made a mess of her llife. Physically and emotionally abuse her, render her homeless, denied her from seeing her children. Sold their home 85million with nothing for her. These are the remote and immediate unreasonable action of hers. We need to review marriage law in Nigeria. Women are bing killed slowly with no action and sympathy from any of us. You don't wanna know a million more wives going through worse conditions. Nigeria women are really good in my opinion |

LagosismyHome: Hummmm can work only on campus or can work anywhere ? ? on campus job only. That include working in near school shops that render services to students in your school. After 9 months, you can do a paid internship job related to your studies(CPT). You can choose a co-op in some semester which means you will be working in some industries while taking the semester off. These are ways you can save to pay up for your school while gaining valuable job experience |

kingphilip: don't be offended by this simple question and I don't want to make you offended by it
Do you see your mom as someone like that??
I don't see anybody that I can't cope with
Atleast give me a week with such an individual and after that we've gotten along pretty well
This issue only arises because the so called daughter in law's brain has been set to think that mother-in-laws don't like them and they can construe an ordinary get me water please to drink to mean she's just riding them and making them look like a slave To be harshly frank with you. My mother is an angel to many people but there are some people my mum don't just like. No matter how will talk her out of it. The look on her face when such people come near or do anything, u go believe. lol. So my wife would be dead duck if she would be one of such few persons. Anyway such coincidence won't even happen! For sure, some people are really skilled in studying people and getting warm to them. You are lucky to be. That can't be spoken of the generality of people especially wives who think their position is threaten and facing imminent usurp. Like you, I too can live with anyone peacefully. But I understand the difference in people and can't hold them accountable to it. |

Ujoan: So because her DIL doesn't like her she should avoid her own son's house. Trust me, I know about dreadful MILs, I also know there's always a way to handle people, no matter how difficult they are.
Why can't she at least make the effort and if it don't work out, find an alternative abode for the woman.
Why cast her away like yesterday's trash because 'they don't get along' Ujoan! Ujoan!! Ujoan!!!. How many times I call you? Nor go there oooo. There are people you can't please no matter how much you try. Most of these people come in form of mother-in-law. Trust me on this. |

sisisioge: Chai! Fear is already catching me on behalf of your friend already. I think she should tell the guy her concern, if he insists then na gobe be that o.
I think she needs to prepare a sort of armour in anticipation...
Ordinarily, the mother in-law wouldn't think of moving in knowing there is no love lost between her and the DIL if she hasn't been getting her ways with her in the past. The DIL should just be ready to change their relationship asap. No need to fight, no need to talk too much, no need to be rude...na body language! She shouldn't cower for her abeg. Just treat her like another long staying house guest. Maintain your stand and dignity...she no be god biko.
By the way, babes might need to invest in a CCTV o. Just in case things escalate beyond "wetin happen"...a picture speaks more than a thousand words!
Jeez! I don't know why MIL are like this, imagine this poor woman going bunkers just cos mma is coming...can't MILs be civil? Why would the son allow it if the wife is already dying from the thoughts. Visit may be perfect. The woman has lived her life as she so desired in her youth. She can have it all her way. Hey...I love my mum more than anything but if i sense my mum will be opened to trouble in my house, I won't let her stay permanently. I cannot even survive gloomy environment. I will be most affected. I can imagine her hoping for MIL to die quicker than her age. |

Ajibade105: Hello,
I got this message from my preferred supervisor. What do you guys think about the message. Find below the message;
@Lagosismyhome @happyday @Walspring
Thanks.If you are interested in working with me, I would advise that you apply to the program through the Mathematics and Statistics Department and make clear that you wish to work with me on biostatistics/infectious disease methodology.
I cannot, of course, promise you a position in my group. This is partly because it is not my decision alone – the Department makes the final decision about whether entry to a program is allowed or not — and also I would have to offer positions to the best applications that come in. However, your CV/background does look impressive and I could certainly see you fitting in with my group.In terms of potential projects, there are numerous things you could work on. For example, I have projects involving infectious disease modelling, implementing computational algorithms for fitting these models to data. I also have a project looking at using similar models to model fire spread.
Alternatively, there will likely be chances to analyse data sets using high-level, but less computational, statistical techniques. for example, using statistical/machine learning tools such as random forests.
It's hard to predict what the project would actually look like since research probably wouldn't start for 18 months from now given that as an MSc student you would be doing courses for the first two semesters. Most of my students I give a choice of possible projects near the time, and let them choose. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. This is a very impressive reply filled with hope. You need to apply fast. Oyibos are not easily direct like this as he has did |

It is about time to get a higher degree ( schooling is my hubby but I got this job in O&G with irresistible offer five yrs ago and I'm there till today). I believe the chances are high that I will be given a student visa because I will be sponsoring myself from my savings. However, nothing is sure in life except God. So I need anyone with first hand information to answer if being denied study visa could invalidate your existing visiting b1 visa or they are not related? I want to continue to enjoy my vacations in and out US even if they don't want me to study in their country. No. Both visa are unrelated. From your profile, it is most unlikely you would be denied visa. They would rather welcome you knowing you don't have intention of running away. But make sure you give a proper reasoning you choosing your desired school not the usual online research stuff. Goodluck |

Christianity Etc › Re: Anita Oyakhilome Remarries - Dawn-To-Dusk News by Mayflowa(m): 2:19pm On Oct 16, 2016 |
Topgainer: You made a lot of sense but traditional Christianity shouldn't be a yoke to anybody. First, teaching about divorce and remarriage Jesus said the only condition for it not to be considered breaking of the standard is that there should be a verifiable accounts of adultery on the part of the couple. That in itself is not an unforgivable thing as difficult as it may seem many men and women who aren't even Pastors have forgiven their partners caught in the very act, many are still happily married. So, if Anita had established a case of adultery in her marriage she has not broken any law re-marrying Secondly, one thing these generation of hybrids have failed to realize is the high recommendations and level of blameless expected of any man who chose to be singled out from among the people as a pastor or bishop. Paul wrote that such a person should be blameless, a husband of one wife or a celebrate. In otherwords, it is not proper that she goes on with the title Pastor Mrs Anita Schafers. She could still serve God as Sister Anita Schafers which is a more appropriate title that will not present unbelievers cause to continue mocking Christians. Personally, I don't like Christ Embassy. I don't see it as anything near a Standard Church Your last statement is so flawed. You should have ended it with your dislike for Christ Embassy not the faulty generalisation. |

coolcharm: How can this people claim to be of God when they cannot practice Forgiveness and Love which are foundational to the Christian faith?
With what guts and conviction will they teach their congregation to forgive one another as Christ forgave the church?
When Men and women of 'God' cannont exhibit forgiveness and love which are fruits of the spirit, and coin out terms as 'irreconcilable difference' then you know that the devil has finally worn prada!
And so, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only when I was with you but even more now that I am absent, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12
Let's focus on living a an acceptable life before God and leave all these bling bling and hyper prosperity pastors alone. You haven't been face with degenerating marriage. It kills your spirit. You won't be able to do anything about it. Do you think God, in His infinite mercy, will condemn anyone based on remarriage? Many pastors in the west are divorced and remarried while leading a holy life. Guess what: they wrote the bible and understand it better |

Does senate consult with stakeholders before passing in laws? The action is dead on arrival. This happen in the US because there numerous schools to choose from. Not so in Nigeria. If your score wasn't good enough this year for admission, what will make it better the following year.
The process will create a lot of bottlenecks in public institutions and enshrine corruptio in admission processes. |

2dugged: I am not encouraging it, but can you tell me exactly how society has discouraged it?,a man cheats on you,as a woman you move out with your children only for the same society to tell you that you are over reacting and that all men cheat.In Nigeria a man can cheat on his wife,when she speaks up she will be the one to get thrown out with her children, with nothing, maybe if divorce laws were reviewed to atleast cater for the woman as obtained in developed countries that could curb it,but for now, both our culture and religion has placed the woman at a disadvantage You are so right on this. It is not women that encourage it. It is the society and men especially. The numerous male legislators will not review marriage law. If the women benefit more from divorce, men would stop cheating to avoid divorce and women will have the strength to leave abusive marriage |
