I feel is more like a honour thing. She wouldn't leave Jonathan to serve with his rival Buhari. Obasanjo and Jonathan were in good terms, in fact political father-son. So it was easy for her to make such decision/transition then.

So it means if I am a correspondent bank or exporter i stand a better chance of making more money via roundtrips.

Since business is about making profit why bother to export for development transactions if i can make more from becoming an illegal 'bureau-de-change' operator huh

The reality on ground is that cbn officials, bank executives and those guys in the forex dept have found a perfect cash cow via this forex restrictions by CBN.
It is not that straight forward as you have imagined. People importing goods/raw materials have what they call letters of credit. Once the goods are supplied and verified, the Nigeria bank pay dollars to the international bank of the suppliers abroad. The manufacturer here is not in contact with the forex exchage. He only pays equivalent naira to his local back.

However, there could be sharp practices allowing leak for round tripping, this is clearly regulatory responsibility and internal audit watch.

Hello chief, I'll just answer based on the knowledge I have. Texas A&M is a great school. Count it all joy if you get into the programme. University of Houston is pretty decent too but I'll respectfully tell you UH isn't in the same ranking with A&M. Ciao.
You can't be too right! Texas A&M and UH are miles apart. Texas A&M is a worldclass institution. UH is good because of Texas opportunities which Texas A&M has too.

It's not 5. It's 6. Where can you get one quarter to fill the three quarter water melon. Clearly, the remainder of the 3/4 water melon is not in the picture.

But you can merge two halves to become one. We have four halves there. That is two water melons plus the four incomplete water melon. That is a total of 6.

You can take min of 9 and max of 12 credit hour/semester. When on GA, they will hardly let you take more than the min.
You are very correct in this instance for those seeking graduate degree. But it's a minimum of 12 credit hours for those seeking Undergraduate degree. More so, graduate can take up to 16 credits hour. However, he would have to pay for each credit unit taken. You can alter your units within the deadline of enrolment.

sweet question.

Chase flat fee of $40 for wire transfer covers all charges (technically) but naija banks are still playing games in their dealings.
Whenever i transfer to any GTb dorm (outbound) the payment is received in full without any charges.
Firstbank is my number one culprit they always dip their hand and take out a few bucks most times about $15. cannot remember the name they call that charge.

Now for inbound transfers from dorm naija to US whenever i use my FBN there is an option to say bear all charges that way when it comes in my us bank dont get charge but if that option isnt checked depending on your us bank in my instance chase bank will charge 15bucks.

Transfers from naija isn't a flat fee depends on the amount.
About 4charges just make sure when you transferring from your naija you pay attention the charges are ridiculous and 4 out of ten times FBN had to do reversals owing to over charges.

Their foreign transfer desk for lagos still dey learn work
Thanks for your succinct analysis. I think your bank, Chase Bank is way better than mine(USbank) in terms of international transfer deals. I will see how I could open an account there.

i bank with Chase and two credit unions
with chase its a flat fee of 40bucks depending on your bank just add the account as an external account under wire transfer and fill the details
Does the receiver gets charged at the other end using your bank? I got charged twice using USbank. One from US and the receiver got charged too as international transfer tax. I felt kind of awkward.

Ndolarr:
CBN may wish to consider introducing the following measures in addition to directing the banks to publish their official weekly forex applications. Importers should be directed to submit copies of their weekly forex requests to the CBN or it's accredited agents to monitor the time frame of final release of forex to overseas suppliers through the various banks. Also, invoices submitted by importers should be reviewed by CBN or its special agents to ensure that prices are not inflated to take forex out of the country. Banks should be compelled to periodically publish their Open Account transactions and dollar equivalent of withdrawals by Nigerians using naira cards overseas. Further, declaration of forex being taken out through the airports should be taken seriously and well documented. BDC should also submit their weekly forex transactions to CBN, showing sources of their forex stock and end users. The totality of these measures, among others, will reveal significantly the outflows from the system. Once we have this data, it becomes easier to see which bank or entity is engaged in forex sharp practices and the penalty should be hefty, including jail term for the internal audit staff of defaulting banks without option of fine! To complement the above measures, the federal government should outlaw the use of forex in any transaction within Nigeria and offenders should face serious sanctions including jail term.
This racket can't succeed in developed Nations. Why? The importers will report to police, efcc and regulatory authority immediately.

There are investigative journalists that will pretend to do such fraudulent deal with the banks just so as to catch them red-handed with video proof. Such journalists becomes heroes.

Why are we this lukewarm and condescending in this country? Government cant be everywhere, we need to help them.

Nigerian importers are crazy. They ought to report fraudulent practice. All the other banks with take high level caution after one had been indicted and slam with billions of naira fine. But they would stay dumbed and be complaining Nigeria is bad.

In the real sense, they are the evils killing the country with their inaction in the face of injustice and impunity

I just had to log in to post this. Where are you getting these ridiculous figures from? The internet? Do you live in CA? If you don't, then I don't think you would know anything about the pay structure and housing situation in California. Stop making up figures please.

And who told you it's easy to get a green card in Texas? Lol. I laugh. You better remove your rose colored glasses and set realistic expectations for yourself before you get to the US. Ask people living in Houston and Texas about how many of them have gotten green cards and how easy it is to get jobs.

6pm may be late to some people depending on their schedules and nature of jobs. If she is a full time house wife, 6am may not be too late but if she is the type that works and has kids, she should try and be waking up before 6am. Op you can encourage your wife to sleep early, as the saying goes, early to bed, early to rise.
I can hazard a guess that they are newly married with no kids or grown up kids

Really? The greatest boasters are the rich ranging from music stars to top business moguls . However, I only chipped my success in so as to prove that one could still do well if you woke up late. By the way, I make up for my deficiency by sleeping late. I said 8am on the average. That means 10 is rare but it happens.

Although I regret my action, yet this is my weakness. I won't tell u my job here but u may find it if you looked through my previous post if u are that curious.

Again. I am rich. Very rich! And it's personal wealth not inherited!

Sincerely, your wife too try. Waking up early is my weak point. I work hard but when I sleep, I sleep hard. Like a dead man! I wake up like 8am on the average. There were times I woke up by 10am. It may interest you to know, that I am on top of my game and rich. If I woke up earlier,I know I would have had more successes and lesser procrastination. I am still good. So your wife is great. Don't push her hard!

Hello Folks

I am a new member here. I have read through several posts here; i must say that I am quite impressed with your astute, sound and relevant advice.

As I prepare for my Graduate studies come Fall this year, I have questions on my mind. But let me start with these:

With my I-20 from, how soon can I apply for visa, considering the fact that Fall semester won't start until August/September?

Secondly, my passport will expire in December 2016 and I am sure you are aware that I can't get renewal from immigration before a six-month pre-expiry timeline. What do you suggest I do about this?
Thank you
You can actually renew your passport before six month to its expiration. I had same issues but it was renewed without stress. Like 9 month to Expiration. Renew your passport before filling your DS2019.

However if you choose to go with your current passport, there won't be any issue at the embassy. You only have to go do renewal before you travel lest you will be denied entrance at the POE

After the two days break, she just called to tell me she had landed safely and I was like, where? Story short. She said she was scared of telling me because I'd be disappointed and that it was gonna affect me.
