Hello guys I need your help.

I recently got my car engine (Honda civic 2004 model) washed some few days back. After about 10 mins drive from the car wash, I noticed that the car was not changing gears even with continuous revving.

I stopped by my mechanic's workshop only to be told that my gear oil compartment has been flooded with water. We got it drained (It was actually flooded) and replaced the oil but the problem persists.

The mechanic is already suggesting I buy a new gear box. Is there any solution? As I am still optimistic that there might be some solution.

What do you suggest. Experts pls help me out.

What Siena meant was specificity. XU10 petrol engine ECU will not run EW10A engine, even though both are Peugeot petrol engines. So, if you don't know what engine it is, take picture of the engine and attach/post.

However, you don't just sell only a used engine ECU of a Peugeot produced in 2006. It obviously has BSI unit, which makes the engine ECU useless when you separate the 2. If you must sell the used engine ECU, sell the complete kit, that is, BSI kit.

Fuel still coming up to 200# per litre . First thing you need to do is run a scan. A lot of component on car if bad can be responsible for high fuel consumption. How then do you know whats bad ? I think the "op" should state the type of car that is involved. You can't carry a major repair on a range rover sport for 3k. Currently in a friend's workshop he has a landrover 3 whose engine has been destroyed by a road side mechanic why if you may ask? Cheap labour. LR3 engine goes for 1.5m. The car has been lying down there

Paying 70k is better than paying 5k and in the end coming back to pay 70k. Am not saying 70k is easy to cough out but if he is knowledgeable to get the job right once and for all. Then that saves a whole lot of stress. Baba silifa wouldn't mind collect 4k for the same job a professional would want to collect 70k

I own a Honda accord 2009 model. My battery got drained and I had to borrow another to start the car, then placed mine back while the engine was running (not jump starting). 
Two to three days later, the Vehicle Stability Assistance (VSA) and hand break light came up on the instrument cluster. The car is moving fine, no dragging issue, as it should be if the hand break was on. 
I have had d light cleared/Deleted but they came back on about 2hours later. 
Please, the good people and car experts here, what could be the problem and its implications, and should be my fear?

Never try what you just did. You would fry up your ecu that way by removing your battery while your car is running. If your vehicle stability assist( VSA) light was illuminated. Run a scan first and come back here and post fault error result. Then we take it up from there, if you are in lagos call 08165520837 or 08156087872. To get a free scan. Would end by tomorrow 4pm. I have 2006 Passat 2.0TFSI i bought as Toks not too long ago,but did not scan it prior to making the payment.The dashboard was clean with no code display,Engine sound cool and i only used a full tank (60L)+20L( toped up at Ihiala Anambra state) of fuel driving the car from Cotonu to Port Harcourt city ( Good fuel economy). My problem is i recently scanned the car and this code come up:
Catalyst System; Bank 1
P0420 - 002 - Efficiency Below Threshold - MIL ON
008801 - Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249)
P2261 - 008 - Mechanical Malfunction - Intermittent
I cleared the code and P2261 never came back, but P0420 still persist.
From the search i did online, it should be consuming fuel but am yet to notice that on highway drive.Not sure of City driving. 15L fuel last about 4 days driving within city ( tro and fro from work daily of about 2 hour both including heavy traffic).

My Question is:
1. Is the fuel consumption Ok?
2. Is there a way to solve the issue with the catalyst system?

Revert to your owners manual for fuel MPG. That would tell you what your car's fuel consumptionn rate should be both for city driving and highway driving.

As for your first fault error it means your catalytic converter located up stream is detoirating or has detoirated which ever the case may be. It needs to be replaced. I hope yours hasnt been stolen. Depending on the design of yours would be determine if the exhaust needs to be taken out or not for a visibility check

As for your second fault error. Boost pressure solenoid valve. That soleniod or sensor which ever yours is hardly spoils check connection. Could be unplugged. If spoilt replaces. This helps regulate air intake which inturns is used to actual fuel injection. You could have a case of misfire if bad or your car would stall as well . Location should be along vacuum hose that goes from your airfilter box into throttle body or located on the inlet manifold. Note- location might not be for your ride.

Hello friends I desperately need help.
My 2002 Toyota Camry transmission (gear) has been given me a tough time for over 6 months now. When it's about changing from gear 2 to 3 it makes a loud jerk or sound as if something hit it. It has been very inconveniencing. I took it repeatedly for repairs but no solution. I was told to change the gear box, I bought another one but it still continued. Again I was advised to change the car brain box, I bought another one and the problem stopped for about a week and later started again. Pls I'm desperate and confused on what to do next. I NEED YOUR URGENT HELP!

Get another ecu and youe car would be fine. Are you sure your transmission was fine before changing ecu?

Dextron vi is available but we are located in lagos

Your car stereo lens is weak

Run a scan sir, could have been a coincidence or airbag sensors damaged

I Have since been working on the car. Av worked on the o2 sensor both front and back, av fix the guage, the tank temperature se sensor, and av service the engine. But still guzzle fuel. I can now read the fuel consumption.

I need help on what next to worked on

What was changed are you sure they are in a working condition? Hope ypur fans are not connected directly? Is your car still installed with its catalytic conveter. Check all this I just mentioned

You need to use a professional scan tool to detect faults on powertrain, airbag, abs and much more. 02 sensor would not make that car sluggish. More like a transmission. Just maybe using the wrong transmission oil
