Hello Experts, I desperately need information on what could be wrong with my Rav 4 2005 model. I recently visited a mechanic to have my steering rack replaced and before then my car was in good condition except for the steering that was stiff. I collected the car today only to notice after like 30 minute's into driving that the oil gauge light on my instrument panel was permanently on. I turned around to head back to the mechanic then suddenly I began to hear a rattling sound. It became louder as I accelerated after a while I began to see smoke then the car suddenly stopped. I tried to start it but it didn't crank. I checked the bottom of the car and noticed it was leaking engine oil.

What could be the cause? Frankly I do not trust that mechanic. Could he have done something to my oil pump? Has my engine knocked? I had to tow my car to a safe location to get another mechanic to look into it tomorrow.

Hello good people, I own a 2006 Toyota Corolla Which I've used from new for 10 years now and about 330,000km. The car is still very strong, but I feel I'd like to renew. I'm thinking of getting the 1ZZ FE complete Tokunbo engine, and also OEM suspensions for the car. Does anyone know any location where I can buy direct tokunbo, not canibalised engine and the cost of these components. I'm in Abuja but willing to carry out the project in Lagos. Thanks all.

Hello gurus in the house.

I drive an Opel Vectra B, 2.0L 16v, 1998 model. Recently purchased two months ago. I intend change the engine nd transmission oil. I've googled to check the right grade of oil for this car but cldnt. Although I used Mobil initially. I havnt experience any thing odd yet while driving. I don't know if I should continue using this or not.

Secondly, my mechanic used 1gallon and half of Mobil oil for a 4 cylinder engine. I feel this is much. He said its a large engine thereby requiring more oil.

Thirdly, i need a scanner for this vehicle. A friend's scanner wasn't compactible. Anyone with idea where i can get a scanner compactible with European/GM cars.

Lastly, any good Opel mechanic is needed for my cooling system. The thermostat has been bypassed and fan running directly. Noticed high fuel consumption.

Please Nairalanders. My radiator fan does not kick in on time, it works like it has a mind of it's own. I always have to turn my airconditioner on before the fan blows.

The car is overheating, its a 1999 Volvo s80. I have called a mechanic in ladipo, and they said they have to relay the fan to work direct, which means they have to hotwire the fan to the battery, it wouldn't work with the thermostat anymore.

Please i want to know if this proposed method will not have any effect on water flowing into the engine when the thermostat won't be working anymore.

Please someone help me before i ask them to proceed.[b][/b]

Memory refresh rate getting damaged? My humble Toyota for blow nah. I kept disconnecting the battery terminal for about 2 years plus (I am not encouraging such), but nothing else got damaged in the process and period.

I guess you drive at top speed/accelerate hard too.
