Personally i really feel that curbing atiku will only make people like him more out of sympathy, OBJ should just let him be,if allowed to contest election i believe he will not win, so insted of OBJ making him more popular he should let him be so that he doesnt win cos nigerians dont need leaders like him(atiku). the stupid old OBJ is too blind to see hence all this nonsense moves to scuttle his ambitions which is making him more popular |
IBB (the evil genius) should root in hell. Nigeria doesnt deserve robbers like him. |
personally i believe the main reason why africa is underdevelped is because of bad leadership. ethnicity and division is not really a problem cos if u look at the world around u will see that even the europens are very very diverse in terms of language and tribe but they still have a functioning European union which seems to be working for them because they have good leaders with a common goal. so when the leadership gets better i believe the continent will move forward.cos as it is now non of the country seems to have a good government |
cushman:I know islam is against begging but the average nigerian northern muslim believes begging is a part of islam, else why would a religious leader go on air to insult a person that calls for an end to this social problem saying he is trying to copy the culture of the white man ? i have lived in kano for 4 years and i know what am saying very very well, how come no northern leader has openly and strongly condemme this act? when street begging was banned in jos sometime in 2003 what was the reaction from the hausa community living in jos?didnt they come out and condeme the governments decision? they have made begging an inert behaviour else why is it that an average hausa man will just give birth to a child and send him begging all in the name of sending him to learn or study the koran(almagiranchi)? i just doesnt make sense. am a core northener so i know very well what am saying when i say the people are very very closed minded and dont want development and sustainable change. when they told them to bring their children out for polio immunization what did they say? instead of the government of the northern states going after things that will ensure a better living for their people they will rather cling onto meaningless ventures like hisba and banning women from riding on motor bike(going or achaba) all in the name of installing sharia. |

because they believe begging is part of lslam, so the believe they are practising islam by begging .stupid dons, imagine there was a time the late wada nas was telling the northern leaders to find a way to curb this inhumane act only for some stupid religious leaders to came out and say all sort of rubbish trying to discredit his effort which was for the good of all. the people are too closed minded and very much detest change and sustanable development. |
i will like to have kid regardless of sex, its really not important to me ![]() |

lol though all parts of nigeria is poor i will like to say that the northern people are a disgrace to nigeria. despite all the money the northern leaders stole, they still have nothing to show for it, instead of bringing development to their people they keep on wasting their time trying to use religion as a tool to keep fooling them selves, instead of employing the youths they prefer to use them as proponents of sharia , eg hisba and what not. na wah for naija sha may God help us all lol |
May God ease our sufferings and pains this incoming year because we really need a divine intervention now that OBJ is doing what ever he can to remain in office beyond 2007 |
i wonder if the members of the national assembly were blindfolded before they passed that bill into law, wonders shall never end. what a nation!!!!!!!!!!! |
Culled from the Daily Sun news papers online of saturday 30th December 2006 Months after President Olusegun Obasanjo signed into law, the Electoral Act 2006, a bobby trap capable of truncating the 2007 general elections had been identified. Section 37 (1) of the act empowered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone election in case of the death of a nominated candidate before the commencement of poll. With 50 registered political parties for the 2007 elections by INEC, with the death of one presidential candidate, INEC can shift the presidential election forward to a later date. Making the matter worst, the law did not state the length of the days or months the election could be postponed. The section reads: If after the time for the delivery of nomination paper and before the commencement of the poll, a nominated candidate dies, the Chief National Electoral Commissioner or the Resident Electoral Commissioner shall, being satisfied of the fact of the death, countermand the poll in which the deceased candidate was to participate and the Commission shall appoint some other convenient date for the election.” Reacting to this section, member of the House of Representatives, Hon Albert Atiworcha, blamed the National Assembly for what he described as gave omission that could be capitalized upon to truncate democracy. “We have just discovered this dangerous section, which could be explored to extend the life of the Obasanjo administration. It is a grave mistake on our part as legislature to create such a loop hole in the electoral act.” To save the situation and to prevent INEC from being used to postpone the 2007 election, Atiworcha said that the particular section of the 2006 Electoral Act would have to be amended when members resume from recess. “The only thing left for us to do is to amend the Electoral Act immediately we resume in January, or else, enemies of democracy will have something to use to ensure that the election does not hold. |
