Politics › Crowd Mobs Yar’adua As He Arrives Nigeria! by mazaje(op): 5:45pm On Mar 10, 2007
A large crowd of PDP supporters mobbed the Presidential aspirant of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as he returned to the country from Germany via the Murtala Mohammed airport.

Yar’Adua, who was rushed to a German hospital for medical attention waved to the crowd as he boarded a Nigerian Airforce helicopter to headed to Ado Ekiti in continuation of his presidential campaign. He was joined in the helicopter by Olabode George and other party members.

It will be recalled that Yar'Adua told The Times of Nigeria in hospital bed in Germany that he planned to be back to Nigeria this weekend.

Oh boy!How long have you lived abroad? huh

In case you don't know, the Police in Nigeria regularly pick up innocent people on the streets and lock them up.There are 150 million people in Nigeria so am not surprised that some people have not suffered in the hands of police yet

I take it from your posts that you haven't lived in Nigeria for a considerable period yet in recent years.
I quite agree with that statement, The nigerian police seriously needs to be overhauled

Politics › Re: Your Assesment Of The Nigerian Government So Far by mazaje(m): 10:37pm On Mar 01, 2007
Nigerians were'nt expecting too much from this administration but given what is and was on ground i believe the government should have done something for the people.personally  i believe the government has failed since the driving force or engine room of any and every sustainable economy which is the basic infasturcture were not  built. every country that can not solve its power problem can not solve any other problem it has period. the government has failed because the basic foundation for development were not established .no roads, no power, no water, and continious decay in the   health, educational, transport, avaition, security and housing sectors of the economy, increase in the prices of petroleum products at the expense of the poor citizens. They have deregulated everything in the petroleum sector yet nothing positive can be seen. EFCC is a very very good achievment and it has laid a very good foundation for subsiqueint goverments to use in fighting corruption which is one of our major problems here in nigeria.even though it has not been used properly by this administration i believe any sensible government will use it for the betterment of the nation as a whole.

As for the niger delta problem, i personally don't know much about it but i believe the governors of the states should be held responsible for most of the things that are happening there, open corruption and misappropriation of funds buy the state executives of the region is responsible for the untold hardship and the chaos going on there. though i blame the FG too for open negligence of duty in that region.the people that are into the kidnapping for ransome business are not doing it in the interest of the people of that region but for personal gains so they too are to be blamed but the insecurity of the people and oil installations is purely the fault of the FG.

Privatisation were carried out but nothing concrete is on ground to show that there has been an increase in the efficiency and over all out put of the privitised institutions. nothing positive too was recorded in that aspect.

Good foundations were made in terms of economic reforms, the consolidation in the banking sector is a great achievment though it lead to so many loss of jobs but its a right step in the right direction though jobs were actually not created.

The EFCC has brought a little sanity to the very corrupt way of life people are a bit cutious now but the efcc has a very very long way to go in making a firm stand on the war against corruption.

Insecurity was terriblely bad and it lead to so much unrest and untimely death of so many people. political killings did take place and some were encouraged and endorsed by the presidency.

The government has recorded some little achievements but in general it has failed the people because with all the money on ground people were supposed to have felt the impact of this administration in more positive ways.
Politics › Re: What Would You Tell Your Kids About Obj Govt 20yrs From Now? by mazaje(m): 9:38pm On Mar 01, 2007
EFCC,GSM,war with Atiku,3rd term, consolidation in the banking system, open support for lawlessness and criminals(Andy Uba,Chris Uba,Ibrahim Mantu,Tony Anehni,Bode george and Adedibu)  debt relief, high rate of insecurity, unconstitutional impeachments and declearation of state of emergency, so many failed promises but above all the greatest  thing his government will be remembered for is the intoduction of the EFCC which to me is a very good foundation for the country, as for me its the best thing the government will be remembered for.

Politics › Re: Ribadu Makes U-turn … Says Bode George Not Corrupt. by mazaje(m): 10:40am On Feb 23, 2007
Whether the EFCC list was doctored before release or not the fact remains that there are names that should have been on that list that are missing, there are names even a two year old boy would dare not call while dinning because rats know themselves and cannot come to play but for the absence of the cat. Should such a list just be because the men are contesting elections, so if there were no elections the likes of Nnamani would have been told to go and sin no more with all those houses or with an account of close to N4billion we are still out there crying victimization. Have you ever seen a mad man victimized, ? Having removed the likes of Dariye is that the end, what happens to the billions he was alleged to have pocketed?

Is it not true that Bode George and Nasiu Mantu should be in that list, how about Gbenga Daniels, Oh, how about Mr. President when will the so-called report on him be released? How about those responsible for the disappearance of billions meant for roads. some roads rehabilitation contracts were been awarded three times, three different contractors and the road are still bad. All the billions that went into NEPA, now PHCN where are the names that should have entered into the almighty Ribadu's list.

pat utomi(shutmouth)  i urge you to set up and out reach center or programme so that you and your supporters can get to interact. coming here and posing as an ordinary nigerian residing in the EU will do you no good. if you really have what it takes to rule nigeria why don't you go and sell that idea and the leadership potential you have to the people out on the streets. coming here and attacking Atiku will never make u popular neither will it grant u acceptance from the people on this forum.

Did Atiku snatch you wife? or did he impregnate any of your daughters?  grin grin grin grin
