I use to play "monkey post" every Sunday at Psycha Hospital in Yaba, do you know how many Igbos and Yorubas that played together? There was no need for the essay on Deziani's good. If the Nigerian govt accuses her of mismanaging Nigeria's resources entrusted in her care, she learned enough to get her lawyers to clear her name.
I abhor sycophancy. Am not saying that's what your epistles embodies ... in addition. I want to believe the epistle was written by a supposedly young person, becuase they are the most vocal on socio-media, and more so on this particular medium, now, are these the youths that want to become leaders of tomorrow? Ambode's administration is becoming more combative every passing day. No, this isn't how to pull publicity stunt. His media handlers should remember that the Economist is a very popular and influential magazine. And they can do him in, I mean his administration, in the eyes of the International Community, and foreign investors if you may add.
One fact they should also consider is that whatever the magazine published could not have been out of political vendetta or sponsored by their political enemy as they would want to claim if this were to be published by a Nigerian newspaper.
The Economist, on their part, were not fair on the Governor. This story does not represent the present realities on ground. Things have changed for the better in the past few days. Perhaps that was a teething problem of newbies that the Governor went through. Things have improved. |

Politics › Re: Bailout: PDP Govs Warn CBN Against Partisanship by mbhs139(m): 5:34pm On Nov 06, 2015 |
braimeddy: The Central Bank of Nigeria has been advised against becoming a tool in the hands of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the release of bailout funds to states that deserve them.
This advice was given by governors of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The governors said the advice was coming on the heels of the alleged failure of the apex bank in releasing the bailout fund for Kogi State, while other states, mostly of the APC states, have received theirs.
In a press statement in Abuja on Friday signed by the coordinator of the PDP Governors Forum, Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, the governors accused the CBN of allowing itself to be dictated to by the ruling APC on which states should get the bailout.
They particularly wondered why Kogi State was not given despite having fulfilled all the requirements.
Onaiwu urged the CBN to insulate itself from politics and the control of the ruling party if it does not want to create political and financial crises in the country.
He said, “How come almost all APC states that applied for bailout have gotten theirs but states like Kogi that have fulfilled all the requirements have been denied theirs with no explanation from the CBN?
“The CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has to insulate the apex bank from the shenanigans of politicians to avoid serious political and economic dislocation in the country.
“It is important and urgent that the CBN releases the N50billion bailout due to Kogi to ease the suffering of the common people in the state.”
Source It is quite pathetic and unfortunate that we have dullards as our leaders in the name of governors in this country. Now listen: The Central Bank of Nigeria has been advised against becoming a tool in the hands of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the release of bailout funds to states that deserve them Take note, States that deserve them. Once again, "States that deserve them". Have they considered whether or not Kogi falls into this category? The governors said the advice was coming on the heels of the alleged failure of the apex bank in releasing the bailout fund for Kogi State, while other states, mostly of the APC states, have received theirs Note, other States, meaning to include PDP states. In other words, something most be wrong with Kogi's application contrary to what they want us to believe. They particularly wondered why Kogi State was not given despite having fulfilled all the requirements Question is; did they write to the CBN to complain about this before coming out to spew rubbish? These fools just like to play politics with everything. |

Now, let's get to the basics. Does it not give you headache that the only premise on which a State Governor in Nigeria thinks that our economy will collapse was simply because when he came back from the holy land, they told him that Ekiti got a certain amount, whereas the State's monthly wage bill is a certain amount beyond what they got, and becuase oil prices has also fallen? And as a result, the economy is going to collapse. What I thought you should asking yourself, let me even assume you are from Ekiti or EVEN any State of Nigeria, for that matter is that what about if this oil dry, what will be our fate?
