mcqwerty: That's it about my project. I have explained it. I mean, I expect you to take it up from there, as skeletal as it seems, flesh it up and advise me on what next we need to do. So, what I am expecting is where do we start from, where do we go from here? |

Politics / Re: Sanwo-Olu Donates Vehicles To Lagos State Judges (Photos) by mbhs139(m): 4:43pm On Sep 23, 2020 |
These things are not right, to be honest! So, where's the independence of the Judiciary, if the Executives are gifting High Court Judges Cars? What happened to the budget of the Ministry of Justice? If the Ministry deems it fit for the Judges to be entitled to vehicles, why can't they be the ones to provide such, having gone through the appropriate procurement process. It is utterly wrong in my view. |
Family / Re: What Will You Do If You Have My Kind Of Parents? by mbhs139(m): 3:27am On Sep 20, 2020 |
I was also in a similar situation, my mum to be specific, and my dad is late. My advise is just budget a monthly upkeep for both of them, perhaps a standing order, the amount is left to your choice, according to what you can afford, and that's it, no emotional attachment. Just send them upkeep. Shiekaynah! As for your other siblings. Do the best you can for them but don't come too close. More importantly, don't allow any relative, child or children of relatives live with you. |

ProfAmaben: What an absurd statement from an educated adult. Quite distasteful, especially on a public forum. A total lack of emotional intelligence, including those that gives a thumbs up. Disparaging a whole set of people based on the act of an individual. Shameful 1 Like |

IvarTheBoneless: Truth is we overate educational qualifications in this part of the world. I have been living in Canada for sometime now and have worked for a number of companies, none has ever asked me for my certificate. Just prove you know what they needed you to do. If you apply with your PhD for a job in Canada, it is very likely you may not get it...get on the job with a lesser qualification first, then prove the rest later. The koko is to earn a living wage. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Travel / Re: Nigerian Mentality About Those Living Abroad by mbhs139(m): 8:16pm On Aug 22, 2020 |
emkz: I hope you aren't trying to paint a gloomy picture of living in the abroad? Well, in as much as I am not disputing all what you wrote up there, there are categories of people living in the abroad, Canada to be precise. There are two categories of Nigerians living in Canada- it's either you're a permanent resident (PR) or of a refugee status. It was very funny, and I was very surprised, when I met a Nigerian for the first time in Canada and he was asking me "where you pass enter...", and I am like, "Ha ha, where else I wan pass enter, no be airport" ? It was later I learnt that there are two routes to Canada as a Nigerian- through the airport as a PR, or through the border post, Ruxton Road, as a refugee and protected persons. These are the kind of people you have described up there. For the record, most Nigerian who came into Canada as a PR are professionals, as in professionals. They are engineers, accountants, IT professionals and what have you. It is the frustration in the Nigerian system that made some of us to leave. Some of us left because we want the best for our children. We left so that our children will not be carrying the green passport all around, thus denying them opportunities from anywhere around the world. Mind you, it is a big sacrifice we made for our children. In case you care to know, some of us leaves six digits salary work at Chevron, Total, NNPC, KPMG, etc to start all over again at the lowest rung of the ladder. In addition, that one drives uber or taxi in Canada does not mean one isn't doing well. I know Nigerians have a warped mind set about dignity of labor. There are people that drives Uber in Canada and they have their own mortgage apartment. You need to see the guy that clean the toilet at Mississauga Square One, you go wonder shay na person wey dey clean toilet be this?! But the nobody send you o, because no be you go pay their bill. The cleaner in my office drives a 2018 Honda CRV, the kind we call first grade tokunbo in Lagos. I don't think I have ever boarded an Uber car brand beyond 2018 since my stay here as a PR. As a matter of fact, I once boarded a 2020 Benz as Uber rider. In conclusion, what I am trying to say is there is an exception to the rule as you have posited, particularly in Canada, except for those of refugee or protected persons status. Finally, my advise is anyone travelling to the abroad should go with the right papers, pass airport enter and receive your "Welcome to Canada" or wherever it is greetings. Peace! 7 Likes 1 Share |
Religion / Re: Bishop Oyedepo Fumes Over Plans By Government To Close Accounts Of Churches by mbhs139(m): 4:17pm On Aug 17, 2020 |
Goke7: This Churches do business as a matter of fact. Do you know how much Olukoye of MFM raked in for his numerous books sales, under the church's name? Do you know how much some churches make in terms of renting halls to their members during special occasions like weddings, and even mosques. At least, I know of Lekki Central Mosque, they have a hall, inside the mosque, you can rent it at 300k for your event. So, what are we talking about? Churches and Mosques have day-cares, these are no charity anything, they collect fee from their users, aren't they suppose to be taxed? But no, Nigerians will argue otherwise, just out of hatred for the person occupying the post of the president presently. we are never objective, but will compare ourselves to saner climes. Saner climes kill huna there |
Religion / Re: Bishop Oyedepo Fumes Over Plans By Government To Close Accounts Of Churches by mbhs139(m): 12:39pm On Aug 17, 2020 |
After all these barrage here, it is these you people that will be shouting in saner climes up and down. Let me tell you something, in saner climes, Canada in particular, we collect receipt when we donate to church or mosque and we declare it as part of our expenses while filing tax in order to reduce our tax liability. So, how will the church not account to Govt, how the money they received from citizens are being managed, that's what this is all about. Who are the churches accountable to? So, daddy GO should just continue to be making free money without paying tax? It doesn't work that way ó! 1 Like |

LLSAINT: It is quite pathetic that all you guys care for is the number of likes you receive on this platform. Most of you, your level of thinking and patriotism is quite terrible. Now to the issue. Just BafanaBafana said, it's quite a pity that we have a President that doesn't have balls, Mailafia or whatever is being called should by now be getting measured for his prison uniforms. How can someone at that level in the society make such an inciteful statement in the first place? Couldn't he have used his connection to bring this information, if at all they are true, to the attention of the security agencies? what exactly does he stand to gain or achieve by making public such an information. You guys are lucky that you live in a Kangaroo country, where anything goes, where people are not call to account for their actions or inactions, even all the rubbish you posted up there would have landed you in trouble. After, you all will be shouting 'human right' right, left and center. You forgot that every rights has their limitations. You people will come here and be making useless noise, being on each others neck, cursing and spewing rubbish, with tribal sentiments. Anyway, I don't blame you guys, it is what the society has made of you. Wetin hunger no fit do to a person's psyche? Quite pathetic really, and I feel very sorry for your likes, I honestly feel sorry, because you guys are actually living a low life. I can only wish God will lift you and your likes out of your miserable life. 1 Like 1 Share |
Romance / Re: Do I Tell My American Patient He's Being Scammed By A Nigerian Romance Scammer? by mbhs139(m): 3:36am On Aug 14, 2020 |
ALEX182: In my view, I will suggest you first of all bring this to your TL's notice (you know what I mean), and write an official report about it, before making a detailed professional plan, in connivance with your institution, of how the news is going to be relayed to him. Since he's a patient, I want to believe he's either you're in occupational therapy or medicine, so you need to professionally manage the situation and not single handedly. Look for a thereaupatic way of braking the news to him in connivance with your institution. |

Sooner or later, you self go carry gun to actualize your aim. Most people are BH in their inner self unknowingly, until they find a gun in their hand to perpetrate the Gospel of Christ/Muhammad 1 Like |

Limitlessbond: Just provide all the necessary documents that shows that it is actually a Gift Deeds. It doesn't matter if you get one percent or hundred percent of your PoF as Deed. What matters is being able to proof that it is actually a Gift Deed, and being able to convince the VO with all required documentation 1 Like |

Evie123: Since your husband have a work permit already, I suppose you both will be landing as spouse, then you can apply for a work permit on arrival. I know of a couple, this is their situation. Except if the work permit does not allow your husband to come with his family/dependent. |
