@mbuela

Please ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh stop promoting mediocrity.

If thats the way these american artists run their music, we wouldnt be celebrating them today.

Why would you say musical contents dont matter?

Just check out Jodie's kuchi kuchi and repeat that again.

9gerian Artists need to make sense in their songs mostly these rappers. Nigerian rappers are so lame.

When i heard Nas 'Be a Nigger too' Tears welled up in my eyes. I was like ' i've been listening to nonsense nigerian rap all these while'

If we have more artists with great musical contents just watch how those with just catchy beats and autotune will fade away.

The factors here are the promoters, marketers and the young people who die over these kind of music. How do we grow in music if you say musical contents dont matter. Abeg lets grow oh.
how could you miss the cynical sarcasm in my posts?

On TripAdvisor, Golden Tulip is rated #1 in Nigeria by travellers.

Average 5-star room rates in Nigeria are between $350 and $450. Not over the top. Pricey, yes, but not over the top. Try Luanda, Angola or Prague, Czech Republic, and you will know what 'expensive hotel room' really means. A standard room in a 3-star in those parts can easily fetch $800.

Ibis in Festac abi? Very nice and standard. Is there a Protea in Festac?

True this.
Lots of decent boutique hotels on the mainland, and on the island (VI and Lekki axis).
I never imagined that Golden Tulip was that good. Like you said, the location is funny.
Ibis is on the airport road, entrance of Ajao.
there is no Protea in festac but i guess over 3 of them around town.one opposite Sheraton and two on the island.
On the high prices, that is the comment i hear from business travellers.I am not one so i might have been misled.

How do you guys find such lousy hotels in lagos?
I have booked hotel rooms for family and friends coming into town for less than or equal to 15k and they were quite above average in every sense of the word (Villa Park arould apple junction leading to Festac and another one i forgot its name just off Opebi). Even for 25k you can get very excellent service and facilities from a couple of these nameless hotels on the Island.

you harsh o!
That Golden Tulip just does not make sense at all. i obviously did not even know it is superb like you just mentioned.
business travellers still say the rates in Nigeria are way over the top. An outsider like myself would have imagined that the market is saturated on the island but with Intercontinental coming into town it is obvious that market still dey.
you forgot Ibis and Protea.

I expect Evra to shake his hand. If as Evra said in his statements to d fa that he doesn't believe Suarez is a racist or [s]that he has since come to understand some of what Suarez said had a different interpretation than he had assumed when d incident occurred[/s]. Then I expect Patrice to shake his hand.
He said that while Suarez abused him racially, he is not convinced that Suarez is a racist. that is a politically correct statement.

Let Evra be the bigger man and let it go.
i disagree.
His reputation has been maligned by Liverpool FC and Kenny Dalglish most especially. Suarez has not even acknowledged his error or even apologised to Evra. How does accepting a damaged reputation amount to being a bigger man?
Even as an outsider, i can't see Dalglish on the road and shake his hands after this whole episode.

However, i have a problem with nos. 2 and 6.
How do you want to convince an upcoming artiste to learn a musical instrument when those he is looking up to can't play jack?
No need calling names but name five out of the lot who played at Rhythm unplugged (i just plugged a premium concert out of the air) that can play an instrument? I chose Rhythm unplugged for a strategic reason. Why do you want the upcoming artiste to tow a path that is not proven?

But the lawmakers agreed that since Bunu was a former member of the House of Representatives, “the tradition of take a bow and go” that apply to former members of the National Assembly should have been adopted in his case.

Obende Domingo ( Edo State ) made case for Inu-Umoru Momoh who was dropped by the screening committee also for poor performance.
Senator Sunday Ogbuoji ( Ebonyi State ) made a case for Mathias Okafor who was rejected by the committee for poor performance.
Ogbuoji argued that Okafor, who was dropped because he was not forth coming in answering questions put to him at the screening session might have be affected by stage fright.

No. 7 reminds me of a guy who was a security man in one of these fast food joints.
he burned his cds and handed it to customers who walked into the outlet. He asked for a token and if you declined to drop anything but he felt you are his target market, he will just dash you the cd.

I know of no artiste that practices instruments as hard as the duo of Femi Kuti and Lagbaja. Do you know how they survive? through international tours. If na only Nigerian market, hunger for don kill Femi and his large band. Lagbaja has been on an extended tour for the last 6 months or so. In the industry's present state, learning an instrument is not productive for any up coming act.
On No 6, i have a similar complaint. Look at Dbanj, Davido, Wizkid, Timaya, Terry G,Psquare,Dprince etc and tell me what the heck musical content has to do with it. Folks like Sound Sultan, Blaise and Eldee who have insisted in talking sense have had to work twice as hard to make half as much fame and cash.
Musical content is not important. I'll rather advice the upcoming acts to rather concentrate on autotune and catchy beats. that is the proven route. why try to fix it if it ain't broken?
