ogazi007: Ronaldo has outplayed messi tonight.they are worthy of the trophy.i am not sure if we can do better on tuesday.we need to start thinking of how to rebuild this team against next season.Forza Barca.
this things come in cycles. I think the Barcelona reign is over. No amount of rebuilding can save it.
It will never be as good as before.

Ibime: The days of defensive midfielders impressing me by throwing one or two slide tackles are over.

The best defensive midfielders these days anticipate danger and cut out passes not make silly and dangerous slide tackles.

Defensive midfielders have to be technically the best players in the team, able to drop inbetween the centre-backs, receive possession in dangerous areas, spin away and maintain possession.

They should be able to press in short sharp spurts rather than slide tackling recklessly in central midfield like Gustavo. When I was 16, ma coach told me that one should never slide tackle in central midfield. Slide tackle is the last bastion of the full-back to stop a winger getting a cross in, or at worst a desperate centre-back trying to rescue a desperate situation.

Most importantly, a DM must be two-footed allowing him speed in possession, not having to turn slower than a shipping tanker in order to use his left foot to pass ball (like Gustavo). Also why does Gustavo always look like the ball is running away from him. A good footballer keeps the ball within a few inches of his foot which allows him more speed and flexibity to change direction at any time. Gustavo never seems in control of the ball when he is running with it.(which is why he delays too much on the ball and gets caught out)

Finally, Gustavo cannot protect the ball with his body like a good defensive midfielder should. The guy is too scrawny and lacks the ball control to do so. You see the way Makelele, Mikel, Xavi, Leon Britton play with their back to the opponent, feel his touch, and use their body to roll him. This is what allows them to receive the ball from the centre-back with players pressing them; and turn the opponent and distribute the ball. If Gustavo try and do this, its suicide! Thats why Schweinsteiger and Kroos had to do it for him repeatedly.

Gustavo cannot do any of the things I have listed above and for me, thats what makes him an absolutely rubbish DM.
very good argument you just messed it up when you mentioned Mikel in the midst of proper footballers.
Mikel is a failed project.
Politics › Re: Lai Alabi Fmr MD Of Intercontinental Bank Arrested For Fraud by mbulela: 8:33pm On Apr 19, 2012
Ibime: Count the amount of people with a CV good enough to take over any of the banks and tell me if any can be trusted 100%.

Lai Alabi has been used as an interim CEO by Soludo before at WEMA bank remember?

Sanusi's prerogative is to make sure that wayward CEO's will be punished to set standards. I dont think even you (Mbulela) could appoint a bank MD whom you could stake your life on, so how can Sanusi do so? If Lai Alabi Bleep up, he will be punished same as others until there is enough disincentive for everyone in the industry to refrain from dodgy dealings.

@ topic,

The investigation should be moved beyond fraud, and see if Lai Alabi can be charged with murder.
Ibime, no make me talk for public o!
If you know half of what at least 2 of these men were during their tenure you go weak.
If outsider like me could get concrete proof of their plundering tendencies, you can't tell me SLS was unaware. What did he do? Nothing.

norrisman: To put things in perspective, Westfield Stratford City and Westfield White City shopping complexes in England were built for approximately $2 billion each.

$500 million sounds a lot for a shopping mall project in Nigeria let alone Owerri.

Wembley Stadium cost about £750 million to build. I would find it interesting if the NFF decided to build a new stadium in Nigeria for a quarter of that amount (c £185 million)
my dear, the whole thing sounds like a 419 scam.

GboyegaD: Na today yansh start to dey dey bank? Some of thise appointed MD messed up the banks more while they were there cos they saw it as an opportunity to amass wealth. I once wrote on one of the threads on SLS that I never trusted him because despite all petitions concerning these MDs, CBN did nothing. It is however unfortunate that people go this far even up to murder all to get their missions accomplished.
This is one blot on SLS image that has continued to be glossed over. However it is one that makes me uncomfortable to hail the man a messiah despite what his fans say. He chased the likes of Ibru and Akingbloa and replaced them with alleged crooks who stole with reckless abandon. At least the likes of Ibru stole with ease, these CBN appointed CEOs stole as if they had deadlines.

Everyone is hailing Chelsea's defensive performance as masterclass but if those 2 balls that struck the post had entered,we would have been discussing how timid and toothless Chelsea were at home.
Football analysis is funny.
I doubt Barca will play as poorly as they did last night any time soon.

AjanleKoko: ^^
Essentially, it was pure luck.
Not completely correct. As much as Chelsea were lucky to a point, Barca were were unusually not incisive in their final 3rd. Besides after 25 mins i began to worry for Barca as their passing was uncharacteristically sloppy and not as imaginative as expected.
whoever passed that ball to Messi that he lost which led to the goal was more at fault for that goal than even Messi.
Dude was clearly struggling as he seemed injured. Why pass to him?Do his team mates think he is not human?

The present and past members of the NASS will end up as delegates of the SNC,so what is the difference?
Or does anyone expect aliens to represent the different nationalities at the SNC?
It will just end up being one expensive jamboree at the expense of our dwindling national resources that will only benefit the pocket of the current looters.
The change we need and will get will not be peaceful and negotiated. It will be imposed from outside the political class and it will be forceful and sudden.

[quote author=Okija_juju]@ OP

You just confirmed my earlier suspicion about you being a b.itch nigga.

You went and confronted your friend, for chasing after your girl?! Like why the fhuck would you do that?!

Your girl lost face?! WHY!!!? It wasnt like she was cheating on you or nothing like that. Even married women get wooed on a regular. They wont tell their husbands because some of them my be b.itch niggas like you and wig out unnecessarily. I know about three dudes who wanna fhuck my girlfriend currently. Infact, one of them just so happens to be my account manager with my bank (where my girlfriend and I both bank). Its not like the nigga does not know about me, but I guess to him its all a game. All I did was step up my game big time. I even pushed my girlfriend to flirt cautiously with him.

Spying on your spouse is dangerous not for just her but you. You could become paranoid and do something that is unecessary. It also points towards distrust and inferiority complex (like you think you aint good enough so she would leave you).

I adviced you to man up. You ignored me. WELL. . . Here is something you should have thought about;

You just lost the advantage of invisibility. Now your competition knows you know his moves. If your girl is a LovePeddler, she would simply change her method of communication with him to maybe Yahoo, Gmail or even stricly phonecalls (which she can simply delete her call history after every call).

You are now at a disadvantage.

I'm sorry but your soul would never be at peace. My advice, leave this girl now and save yourself the headaches. You brought this on yourself.

I've not seen any large-scale palm-wine processing plants, neither have I seen a bottled palm wine brand in Shoprite.

coogar: with 3 centre backs, there would be 2 defensive midfielders shielding them.
2 wingers flanking the defensive midfielders and 3 rotating forward players
rooney is a tireless worker anyway.

aimar would chill n the moment united break n get the ball to him.
he can be trusted to play a slide-rule pass into hernandez's path.

it's so easy in the sense that most teams use a lone striker these days.

why do teams mark a lone striker with 4 defenders. it does not make sense.
I love the way you write atimes. You have even decided on the type of pass he will make.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by mbulela: 11:13am On Apr 18, 2012
afrodoc: aimar doesnt play in a 2 man midfield so unless united changes to 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 then players like him would be surplus to requirements in d squad.
still feel modric is d best suited to united's style of play.if he comes to united with d winning mentality of d club esp with SAF n d senior players his game will improve from wt we r seeing in spurs.
I also think that a Modric type player is needed. However i doubt it is Modric himself.
1. Daniel Levy has balls made of steel and would squeeze blood out of Gill.
2. The more i have seen Modric this season, the more i have wondered if he is really all that.

A player of his type but probably one that can shoot and take more initiative but slightly cheaper might do the trick.
Does such a player exist? I no know.
