@BigB1

Here you go again trying to make me repeat what I have said, well sometimes the truth is all about what we want to accept. Its up to you what you want to accept but what you cannot change is what is generally acceptable. No amount of abusing me will even help you achieve that. I am not going to bother about responding to those abuses but will paraphrase what I had said before.

The services of the FBI are being employed to track loots in the US, so too are the services of Metropolitan police employed to track loots in London. They are not coming to track loots in Abuja or Adamawa.

Suggesting that US or anybody else will preside over our elections without invitation from the FG amounts to encroaching in our private matters. Not even the person of Atiku has the right to single-handedly do that.
It is that simple okhuhhuhhuhhuh??/

Its no use abusing me cos that will not get me to accept your views.

VICE-President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday in Abuja made a fresh allegation against President Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing him of ordering the purchase, a few days ago, of arms and ammunition worth $2 billion for the military to suppress Niger-Delta militants.

Vice-President Abubakar made the accusation at the inauguration of his presidential campaign office which he named Democracy House and the inauguration of the Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC), headed by Alhaji Lawal Kaita.

“A few days ago, the president ordered the purchase of arms and ammunition worth $2 billion for the military to suppress the people of the Niger-Delta,” Abubakar alleged.

Atiku, while speaking at the event, attended by the Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu; national chairman of Action Congress (AC), Chief Bisi Akande; former national chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Solomon Lar and Chief Audu Ogbeh and other top Nigerians reiterated that the huge amount was not meant for the development of the Niger-Delta.

According to the AC presidential candidate, the money was meant to buy arms and ammunition to suppress the Niger-Delta

@Big B1

FBI and other international security agencies were not invited to investigate questions of corruption in Abuja, Minna or Adamawa. The EFCC is only seeking their help to trace funds in their own country. And that is totally different from your call for a foreign nation to conduct our election in our own country.
However if the Government wish to do this it will come from the apprpriate quaters and not in response to a disident VP.

how come you are only picking on that aspect of that news. I will like to assume you also saw the aspect of the news that says IBB recieved a letter from the French government regarding his loot several days before he step down from PDP primaries. Which corroborates my earlier position that stepping down for yaradua for whatever reasons is only a smokescreen.

@Iyke-D

The pics shows Atiku talking to American journalists and accusing a government he is part of, of planning to declare a state of emergency in other to extend its tenure. That already amounts to a threat to National Security and that is what this VP is constituting himself into.
Thus a second dimension to your prediction could also be, the appeal court or supreme court voiding his seat as VP in the interest of National Security. Afterwhich he will be arrested and put behind bars during election. Yaradua will now probably grant him amnesty by 1st october this year during independence day celebration.

PoliticsRe: Stop Corrupt Nigerians From Contesting The April Election by McKren(m): 5:21pm On Jan 30, 2007
@majaze

Those who posted those trash on PM News are those who wished corruption was never fought. Ok Obj is corrupt agreed.
Maybe he should sit back and never talk of anti-corruption cos he is corrupt himself, maybe no Nigerian leader after OBJ should even talk of anti-coruption if they are not corrupt.
The point here is, in a society where 98% percent of elite politicians are corrupt. How long shall we wait for this Mr. Clean that will fight coruption when it is even obvious that the decent people amongst us will hardly find there way to the top.

Majaze, this is not about hypocrisy, this is about finding a perculiar solution to our perculiar problems. Yes there are the questions of Andy Uba and Bode George, but you got to understand that leadership of a nation is not white and black anywhere in the world and so too is politics.  May be this president needs some of these guys to remain in power.

Someone once said why cant Ribadu investigate the dollar smugling scandal, and i said to him. If he does, OBJ will go down and Atiku will take over whose first policy will be to scrap the EFCC. Tell me how a young EFCC that has its survival at the moment cos of the support it enjoys from the presidency  bring down the same  president. It is impracticable.

You got to realise that Nigerians are very cunning, the moment they are in EFCC net. they tell you they did not greet the president the previous night that is why they are being persecuted. All this while Gbenga Daniel has been OBJ's boy but if he is brought to book by EFCC they will fabricate one offence Gbenga commited against OBJ that led to his prosecution.

Maybe the fight against corruption is not successful, maybe its selective and i dont wish to argue about that. But the point is that OBJ's resolute stance against corruption and Ribadu's dedication has brought a change in our values.

Sometimes I wonder if OBJ had maintained the status quo and maybe initiate a transition programme that will see the emergence of IBB or Atiku. Would he have been this unpopular? would we have heard he had only 20,000 in 1999? would we have heard of transcorp?

Call it vindictiveness or stubonness or whatever, but I think the attitude was necessary and I totally agree with Bode George who said OBJ has given Nigeria a second independence. At least we now know the injustice perpetrated by the elite class (including OBJ) on Nigerians.

In choosing the Pope what matters is boardroom politics, the people's wish and popularity has no place in the process. I guess Andy Uba is reminding Anambra people how he will not need the people's vote to become governor. There is no other meaning to this and Anambra people should fight against it.

I hope Prof Maurice Iwu will be his traditional self and not give credence to this rumour by reacting to it. No serious person will react to gossips posted on media. PoliticsRe: Okigbo Panel Report On Oil Windfall Is Missing by McKren(m): 9:52pm On Jan 26, 2007
I think this explains why the report got lost

Court adjourns hearing in case against IBB, three others
A federal high court in Lagos Thusday adjourned hearing in a suit involving Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and three others.
The suit is over the alleged failure of the defendants to account for export earnings from the sale of crude oil during the Gulf war.
Justice Dan Abutu adjourned hearing in the case till March 5.
The case, filed by Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) in 1992, listed former CBN governor, the late Alhaji Abdulkadir Ahmed, the Auditor-General of the Federation and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as co-defendants.
Fawehinmi is asking the court to compel the defendants to account for all export earnings realised by the country from the sale of crude oil during the Gulf war crisis, particularly between August and Dec. 31, 1990.
Earlier, counsel to the defendants, Mr Charles Ataboh, told the court that they had filed an application, asking it to set aside its order directing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Ufot Ekaette, to appear before it.
``We pray the court to dismiss the idea of asking Ekaette to give evidence and produce the report of the Pius Okigbo Panel on the re-organisation and reform of the CBN of 1994,'' he said.
He said in a 15-paragraph affidavit supporting the application: ``In my position as the Director of the Committee and Commissions in the Office of SGF, I am aware that the panel report was submitted to the late Gen. Sani Abacha in 1994.
``All efforts have been made since the assumption of the present administration to locate the report at the Presidency, but to no avail,'' it stated.
Counsel to Fawehinmi, Mr Ugwuzor Adindu, told the court that he was not satisfied with the content of the application and would file a counter affidavit.
``A report of such magnitude is supposed to be deposited at the National Archives by virtue of section 24 of the National Archives Cap N6 Laws of Nigeria 2004 and 25 copies at the National Library, '' he said

I have also read the report, it is one of those normal products of Atiku's Army of Calumny (AC).
If you think of the timing of the report and Omoyele Sowore's claim as the motivation behind the report you will understand the motive of the report. Saharareporters is turning into propaganda arm of Atiku.

What is more disturbing is the fact that Nigerians and expecially the people of the south-east had to be reminded an ugly part of our nations history in their quest to get Prof Iwu down and pursue Atiku's ambition at all cost.
During the civil war and beyond a lot of young men suffered the same faith as Iwu and will surely have complications in their career at those times, young men surely will want to have a way to move on after such a horrible war. Trying to blackmail Iwu with a past that came about as a result of the misfortunes of this nation is cheap propaganda and all those behind it should be ashamed of themselves.

This is about the 4th or 5th offensive from the Atiku camp against Iwu without him trying to respond or retaliate. Even at all their propaganda all the members of AC came out testifying that the verification excersize was not intended to victimize anybody so why does Atiku want Iwu out at all costhuhhuhhuhhuh?/

Prof. Maurice Iwu is such a strong character and will not be bullied but you know whathuhhuhhuh??
The tide will turn on Atiku.

Well what ever is the essence of this anouncement is defeated because the punch had published a summary of the report before. I will simply go print out a copy for myself right not. Ufot Ekaete and OBJ can destroy it if they like but Gani Fawenhinmi and the Nigerian people will always have their copy.

By Vincent Moss Political Editor
BRITAIN is shipping a record 1.9million tonnes of rubbish 8,000 miles across the world to be dumped in China, shock figures have revealed

Campaigners fear vast amounts of the waste, including potentially lethal chemicals, are ending up in illegal landfill sites instead of being recycled.

When Tony Blair came to power in 1997, just 12,000 tonnes of paper, plastics and metals were sent to China. That figure rocketed 158-fold in the eight years to 2005, say official figures.

And while we send the Chinese shiploads of our waste, they currently export £16billion worth of good to Britain each year.

The huge increase in waste shipments has alarmed environmental experts and MPs who claim it torpedoes the Government's green credentials. Waste paper accounts for about 1.5 million tonnes. The rest is plastics and metals including copper, nickel, aluminium, zinc, lead, tin and tungsten - which could poison water supplies if they leak.

Liberal Democrat environment spokesman Chris Huhne said: "People will be shocked that more and more of what they put out for recycling can end up in China. If reports are true that our recycling simply ends up in waste dumps rather than being used properly, then this is an environmental disgrace.

"Labour should be looking to expand the UK's own recycling industry and make Britain a leader in new green technology."

About six per cent of Britain's annual 30.4 million tonnes of recyclable waste is sent to China, despite warnings that its big cities will not be able to cope with their own waste by 2020.

Environment Minister Ben Bradshaw claims shipping waste so far across the world has "minimal impact" on global warming.

He says: "It is often transported on otherwise empty container ships returning to China".
That is how hypocritical the west is shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

MAMAJAMA:
As clean as Duke might look, he is not far from others. he might have achieve allot in helping the state but he withdrew from the race when baba threating to use EFCC on all the governor that does not support Yar Adua. what does that tells you, he has some skeleton in his closet.
People should stop this lie and propaganda. The original PDP screening that was thorough in which EFCC reports submited on each candidate were used produced just 5 people and they are Yaradua, Mauzu, Markafi, Duke and Egwu though latter 20 were let through. Duke left the race when he was told that power had been zoned to the North thus his being in the race will be mere formality.

Otherwise tell me why a potential EFCC report will scare Duke and not Abdulahi Adamu of Nasarawa. So guys please lets leave propaganda.
The same EFCC you are talking about its chairman Ribadu specifically mentioned Duke as one of the 5 governors that had no case to answer just by september 2006 while addressing the senate. So tell us where this talk of Baba, EFCC and Duke is coming from?

It seriously breaks my heart when people carry useless propanda against one of the few serious politicians we have in this country. Immediately he lost out of the PDP race one of his first acts within the next four days was to commision a metro rail-line project from magret ekpo internation airport to tinapa business resort. That is a very focused and serious person who understands why the future of this country and our children should not be joked with.

I tell you what Mamajama, Duke leaving the PDP race is rather a sober situation not an object of redicule. Because PDP by stopping Duke deffered hope till God knows when.

On Yaradua and Buhari, their presidency will virtually mean the same. Fighting corruption and hammering on financial prudence without any good plan on sustainable development, but at this stage in our life we need both fiscal responsibility and sustainable development.
Though I will prefer Yaradua for reasons of the need to break free from the old brigade. We need change in generation. Besides Buhari truncated democracy an act which accounts for loss of at least 20years in our history. If he had not ousted Shagari  we would have made all the mistakes we are making now and learnt from them. There is no where else in the world where a Buhari who never believed in democracy will hope to rise to power through the ballot.

Talking about DUKE, he was schemed out of the PDP running because: -
1. He was threaten with EFCC
2. He does not want to go against Baba
3. PDP is more important to him than the love of his country
4. He who fights and run away lives to fight another day.
Who says!!!!!!!!
Listen guys propaganda takes no one anywhere, talking about Duke. The original and thorough PDP screening produced 5 people only, they include Yaradua, Mauzu, Markafi, Duke and Egwu. it was after some military officers and some PDP bigwigs like Odili pleaded not to be embarrased in that manner and the fact that OBJ could be setting a dangerous precedent against military officers that the situation was reversed and 20 people were let through. If the EFCC had something tangible to bully him out of the race why was those same facts not used to stop him during the screening that produced the 5 initial PDP candidates.

On the eve of the Primaries OBJ called Duke to advice him to step down on the grounds that power has been zoned to the North, I believe he was so disappointed and shocked. While rounding up his blog he wrote on the topic "All good things, " a section of which read

By Friday morning I was very confident that I was going to pick the party's ticket but by mid-day of the same day I was no longer a candidate, what happened in between is left for the PDP to answer,
though this has been edited right now I guess in other not to join issues with no one

What Duke did is the smartest thing to do, whats the point going on in an election that the winner has been predeterminedhuhhuh?? whats even the point moving to another party when he is a sitting PDP Governor, he can only do that if he is ready to resign. Dont tell me others are doing, because that does not make it a legal act. Duke is a Lawyer by training it will be very shameful of him flouting the constitution because Mr. A or B is doing the same.

He is just 45 and will still be president if it is God's wish ok!!!!!!!!!!!!

The US aided the freest and fairest election ever seen in Nigeria in 1993 and then in 2001 there were reports of electoral fraud in their own Presidential election that saw the emergence of the Present regime. Do you think allowing a regime that rose to power as a result of fraud to preside over our own election is the smartest thing to do?

BigB1 times do change and we have to keep up with it, 1993 Nigeria is different from 2007 Nigeria. Our challenges and ambitions as a Nation now is different from then so I dont see why the US will preside over our election.
This same regime presided over an election in Iraq that saw the emergence of Nouri Al-Maliki an ally of shia Militia leader Muqtadar Alsadar, what is the resulthuh?// instead of the central government to build a secular Iraq they are empowering Shiites against Sunis a situation which will cause unending crisis and continues stay of the coalition forces.

Embattled Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar returned to the country on Sunday after a four-week vacation in the United States amidst tight security provided by some youths hired from Niger Delta region of the country. The Niger Delta is the home base of the dreaded movement for the emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and some other militant organizations fighting for the control of oil wealth.

Local media reports had indicated that a new set of security outfit was in charge of the Vice President’s security on his return. Elendureports.com can now reveal that political associates and other stakeholders on the well-being and political career of the Vice President had met days before his arrival and concluded that the security of the man may not be guaranteed if it is left in the hands of Nigerian authorities and therefore decided to hire the services of very reliable, and independent group to ensure that Atiku Abubakar no harm came to him.

According to very reliable sources who spoke to Elendureports.com on the condition of anonymity, about three “networks” were suggested for Atiku’s security. The ‘networks’ included members of the defunct Bakassi vigilante which operated mainly in Abia and Anambra States of the South East between 2001 and 2003 and other groups. However, Niger Delta Youths were chosen because they were believed to be focused and well-trained for surveillance and prompt action.

According to our dependable sources, the well-dressed, clean-shaved young men were able to find their way into the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and received the Vice President. They escorted him into his private car, a Range Rover. They were also with him inside the vehicle as he was driven out of the airport to his residence at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

The Niger Delta Youths, about a dozen of them, according to our sources, were in charge of seeing that the mammoth crowd that gathered at the residence of the Vice President did not mob him when he arrived.  “You can see for yourself. These boys have done a very good job. Look at the orderly manner they have controlled the crowd without even harassing or rough-handling anybody,” an Atiku associate told this reporter.

Also on the same day, Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police Lawrence Alobi was prevented from entering into the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by an army officer posted to control movement in and around the airport prior to the arrival of Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Alobi, who is in charge of providing security within the Federal Capital Territory of which the airport was part of, arrived the presidential wing of the airport with a truck load of armed policemen accompanying his chauffeur-driven blue colored 504 salon car but was stopped at the gate by an Army Officer who, this reporter later identified as Captain Okafor. The Captain was firm in his insistence that the Commissioner of Police should not enter the area.

The Commissioner of Police had tried to explain to Captain Okafor that as the Commissioner of Police in charge  of the Federal Capital Territory, he need not be in the list to enter the area but the officer said he had orders from above not to allow anybody to enter.

Alobi told the Captain that he will not rise in his career for insulting him, unmindful of his position, age and years of service to the nation. The Commissioner directed his officers and men to leave the place as ordered by Captain Okafor.
Hahahahaha, the same dramma is playing out here.
What a shame if this is true.
