Wole Soyinka was a by watcher just like every other Nigerian. Why will he be the one to tell the correct story. Mustapha Jokolo himself a principal actor in the saga has come out to comment on the issue why did we not hear any reply from Atiku or his men? Forget Soyinka that was how he allowed IBB to trick him into accepting that he actually meant the transition programme. |
dont think so, the transition programme should go on. regime change and its timming is more important than the process at this stage in our National history. I want to see someone else in Aso Rock come May 29. In the interest of this nation and our democracy. |
Please there is a difference between being qualified and being accepted Though he may not win but I think he is qualified to partake in elections. I think his candidature will raise issues on aspects of our constitution that needs addressing. people born in other parts of the country other than their tribe should be allowed to take part in election. That will help bridge this ethnicity and problems of power shift witnessed in Nigeria. Besides that think of someone being a governor in a state different from his tribe, he will want to impress the people so as to be accepted and by that Nigeria may grow. If the guy actually did NYSC he should be allowed to take part in elections, why not. After all During the last general elections in UK a guy with yoruba name ran for MP under the conservative party. |
@deepsoul This is not about optimism, it is about the truth. Nigeria is failing in some respect but its an exageration so suggest Nigeria is a failed state. Wanna know what it means to be a failed state? think of Iraq, Somalia, Please we are not in that league. |
devided which country? along which lines is Nigeria devided? is it between PDP and AC? BigB1 please get serious Someone else have just said what I have been saying? Obj's greatest mistake is sending Kayode to US. He should ignore them Nigeria benefits nothing from America, if they dont buy oil anymore we simply sell it to china and India OBJ should ignore Atiku and the US. simple |
BigB1 this is the last time I will say the same thing over again. We dont need no body to conduct elections for us. We dont conduct their's why will they conduct ours. |
@Osegwu All this type of talk na him dey make babes dey make guy for boys. |
Gamine:What not Whut Queen of Engand Thought you don't do typos ![]() |
Wish Beyonce Knowles will break up with JayZ so I will keep fantasizing about her like a single lady , LOL Kidding. I wish them luckWell to hell with Beyonce cos I got a replacement, little girl Leona Lewis |
Dont normally react quickly, so will do nothing at first. But surely that will be the end to it, nothing on earth will reconcile us. Will simply show her the door out of my life. |
Gamine what an intereting character you are, I am getting attracted to you, funny but thats me, like self proclaimed stubborn girls. |
of Africans like youClosed chapter!!!!!!!!! Now I understand the motivation of all this american trash, you are already fantasizing that you are one of them. I hope that someday you are not reminded who you are. For your information you are not the only one living in the west. |
I'm laughing my ass off here. The FBI? LOL LOL LOL. An American DOMESTIC investigative outfit is going to protect a foreign national on foreign soil from the foreign nations own security outfits. My God, even our news editors lack basic intelligence. The daily sun isn't worth using to wipe my ass with.Mariory you are absolutely correct. The Sun is useless. |
@Big B1 Do you really think Atiku or his family will be affected in any way during this election process (even if he doesn't win the election)?America is not UN, they are a sovreignty as much as we are. If Nigeria needs there help the government will invite them otherwise they are not needed. The election that saw the emergence of George Bush in his first tenure had questions of fraud so there is no perfect nation out there. The transition programme is still on course, INEC though not perfect is doing its job tell me what else Atiku is inviting US for other than he thinks he may not emerge winner. BigB1 I am sorry to say that you rather need to wake up if you think Atiku is fighting anyone else's interest (or Nigeria for that matter) other than his selfish ambition. The America he is running to their vice president will not make mockery of the constitution like he is doing, no matter the situation. If there is any integrity left in Atiku he would have resigned long ago so as to mount a credible opposition. He would not do that and tells you he was voted by the people with OBJ thus he must finish his mandate. But the point is that the Nigerian people did not vote him or OBJ because in Nigeria we don't vote individuals but political parties, thus if he has moved to another party why can't he resign even when our constitution does not allow him to be in another party as VP? what is he afraid of? where else in the world is the no.2 citizen the no.1 opposition of the government he is part of? FIGHTING FOR NIGERIA MY FOOT THIS IS PURE DESPERATION WHICH HAS DONE NOTHING BUT TO BRING HIS OFFICE AND THIS NATION TO DISREPUTE. Guys, I'm not sure what we are after anymore. At this stage in our nation history what our priority should be is to have a transition from one civilian government to another and most importantly to have a generational change because the likes of IBB, Buhari, Atiku, Gusau have all been part of our problems and should give us a break. Don't be stupid; at the moment Nigeria is very brittle and we must take special precaution during this period to protect the future of our nation.Along which lines will the feud between OBJ and Atiku divide Nigeria. OBJ's greatest critics are the yorubas, the north has no time for Atiku while most of his allies are in the west. Except you are suggesting Nigeria will break along PDP and AC lines ![]() You guys should stop raising unncessary alarm, it looks like the talk of third term is becoming outdated thus this new one? And by the way, don't mix things up; IRAQ is totally different from NIGERIA.I am not suggesting Nigeria and Iraq look alike. But if you are serious about your end note "may God Bless Nigeria" you will consider the activities of US and their interventions in other parts of the world before you invite them to Nigeria. America's foreign policy is for their National Interest, they will be so glad to interfere in our affairs because of the oil we have. Go and do more research, Nouri Al-Maliki of Iraq and his legislature will soon sign a resolution permiting western oil companies of US and UK to syphon oil directly and profit from it to the tune of 70%. If we are wise we should be asking what deal Atiku Abubakar have struck with the US so as to get their backing. Trust me we will soon hear the truth because Atiku is a desperate dog. Atiku is Nigeria's biggest shame of the moment. No other Vice President of the world will put National Security at risk just for personal ambition. |
we dont need the kind of american salvation in Iraq. they are not welcomed. |
What Happened to Liberia few years ago and what is currently going on in Somali will be tiny compare to what Nigeria and Nigerians will face. There is only one looser in this whole dramma and that is Atiku Abubakar, will FBI or America impose him on Nigeria? no At his age he is still hoping his yam to cook from the cover of his pot. Come May 29 we will have new president and atiku will join the dustbin of history. Time will tell who is right. FBI will tell us if Dick Cheney can decamp to Democrats and still hope to be VP. |
prinzgeini: prinzgeini:not sure this forum was designed for people to abuse others. How does what naijacutee said demand the sort of reply you gave. That is the most uncooked question I have seen a guy ask a lady in most recent times and I think you should bury your head in shame. @fynewaka I have seen just two of your threads and both have to do with prostitute, can you please shed more light on the motivation behind that. |
toshmann:oyibooo!!!! |
If there are only 1million voters registered that lot should vote. We need transition come May 29. |
ter·ror·ism (těr'ə-rĭz'əm) Pronunciation KeyThat is one of the dictionary definitions of terrorism. Tell me how the unlawful invasion of Iraq is not terrorism even when they invaded Iraq without UN permission. TayoD grow up and stop abusing people. |
The NFA is hidding their lack of ideas behind the call for a foreign coach. Who knows how they will finance this one, maybe they are hoping that they can owe him between now and may then when Yaradua takes over they will get him to pay off his wages. The NFA is not serious and I think Sani Lulu should go, the best person for the job for now is Odegbami. |
That is Donzman's difinition of a spirited leader. But me thinks if he has any integrity left in him he should have resigned ages ago.The guy is a desperate dog. I like the saga anyway cos this is one of the few battles between two elephants in which the grass will benefit. At least they have been exposing how they loot the nation. |
Tayo D I saw you coming up with an argument like this that was why I included the clause "by the true sense of the word" Intimidating others into doing your bidding is in itself terrorism. It does not matter how you go about it. Those who are planting bombs are using tools available to them to perpetrate acts of terrorism which is largely to intimidate others to do their wish. Geoge Bush on his part is also using tools available to him to terrorise others to do their bidding and these tools include illegal invasion and lobbying the UN to impose sanctions on those who dont do their bidding. Saddam Hussein as a freind of the west commited as much atrocities as when he fell out with America so why was he not removed all the while. TayoD go and do more research cos you dont understand the least bit about what world politics is about. |
you should rather give us reason why there should be factions at all in any political party. |
Donzman nobody says Yaradua was made a professor. He was only going to lecture of which you dont even know the terms of that contract. in fact this will be my last post on this issue cos no one else knows how the university works other than you. |
what the guy means should be the guy's problem to worry about. Girls should answer this question as sincere as possible. Telling a boy you have a bf does not mean you must agree his own. these days girls say they have one even when they dont thereby discouraging the guy in question. |
Tayo D I think George Bush has enough aides to defend his failed foreign policy yours is an excercise in futility. Dont know why you are trying to defend a policy Condolezza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld or these days Rob Gates cant defend. Bush is the terrorist by the true sense of the word. |
Oil gunmen kill Nigerian chiefsIf we have a reasonable Intelligence, DMI or SSS what they should do is to exploit the situation to create more confusion amongst the gangs. It is now clear that these gangs are working for some chiefs. Create more trouble between them and u will see different gangs trying to undo others a situation which will lead to a clearer clue of the inner workings of these guys. |
This is the problem with this Turaki guys, as soon as you disagree with them they try to bully you with words like gullible, lack of idea, dumbhead etc. Who says people without PhD dont lecture anywhere in the world. There are loads of them in western Universities. Come to think of it why argue the status of the employment, whether permanent, temporary or visiting you are engaged in knowledge transfer to a group of students thus you are a lecturer. Cant understand why this should be an argument when it was not specified the type of appointment Yaradua got. |
Donzman:I don't agree with you, Donald Duke is only playing politics like it should be played and adhering to the rules. By declaring for presidential contest under PDP he has subjected himself to the rules governing that party and must respect it most especially when he is presently a serving governor under the party. If the party top brass has decided to crown Yaradua he has no choice but to respect the wish of the party. Parties are entitled to how they choose their leaders either by election or selection its up to them. Duke as a Lawyer by training understands this and it will be foolhardy to engage himslef in the kind of cheap desperation Atiku is known for. |
Embattled Vice President Abubakar has explained why he chose to report the lingering rift between him and President Olusegun Obasanjo personally to the authorities and people of the United States, Empowered Newswire, a US-based Nigerian news agency has reported.Guys do we preside over US election? why should the US meddle into our internal affairs? Is it now a case of Atiku must be President or else invasion by the US? why should the vice president of a nation put his ambition over national security? What do you think? |
