Minna or KD government has its choice and patriotism demands you support it. I as a lawyer make choice that is best for my client cause I have certain knowledge they don't. Government has information the rest of us don't have and if after research or survey it finds KD a better option, we have no choice. Nigerians just love complaining about everything. They will be the same set to complain tomorrow that everything infrastructure is either Lagos or Abuja, why not agree with government for once?

I dont have a problem sir, my worry is that why waste tax payers money when you can save tremendous cost by upgrading the Minna airport that is already built to international status, deploy airport shuttle buses with security personnel from Minna into Abuja is doable and cost effective.

The security situation in Kaduna is too much to subject innocent air travellers to such risk. Ofcourse you and I know that our security forces are yet to destroy boko which bubu confirmed so why add more problems. Dont forget the herdsmen are there, the Southern Kaduna problems are also there thats enough for our security personnel in that area to cope with. This is certainly not a popular decision it is biased and based on selfish sentiments if you look at it critically. If professionals had been allowed to do their work without executive body language inputs they would never have opted for Kaduna. Minna or at best Lagos would have been a sensible thing to do.

My guy you are drifting. If the airport to be upgraded is Enugu, will you complain. Everything shouldn't be in Lagos or Abuja. Know when to criticise government.

I am a retiree now grappling with private practice but I can advise you. Look for a good chamber and attach yourself for now. Never mind how poorly paid. Stay there, learn the ropes and make the connections. In another five years you can start a small practice. Then the sky will not be your limit but your start point. As a professional you CAN NEVER FAIL but now that your sinews and joints are supple, you must lay a solid foundation for yourself. Cheers.

I'm not canvassing for middle men. Whqt I'm saying is that from precedence and from the experience of other societies, this type of food distribution system does not/cannot work! It has failed in the former Soviet union and almost everywhere else it has been practised.
Let as many people as possible get involved in the transport and distribution of the rice. If different people bring in their rice at different prices, we will have a range of prices to choose from. Plus it will be an efficient system because there will be competition.
The way it is now 80% of that rice will end up unaccounted for, in the homes of government workers and political appointees. They may even store it up and start using it to sway voters in 2019. It is not an efficient system because there will be massive scrambling for the rice and queues, it will breed corruption, and it will eventually be hoarded out because government workers who have access to it will take it to the market and probably rebag it and sell at N21,000.

My brother the range of prices these private transporters will leave Lagosians with can't be same with the government regulated price and once that is the case, those persons that wish no good for Nigerians and Lagosians will want to mock government. LASG is only taken steps to prevent this. I believe this initiative will follow through till both states are sufficient in rice production, then market forces will be allowed to thrive as the price would have 1st drastically reduced.

Why not allow private individuals take up the initiative and control the transport and distribution of the rice so that it can be done more efficiently? How can a governor that went to school and supposedly finished with a first class, allow people to start queuing for food in the 21et century!
Anybody that went to school knows what happens in communist countries that practise this kind if state controlled food distribution. Only the government workers, members of the politiburo and the elite will have access to that rice.
This is shameful coming from a first class graduate of UNILAG. University education in Nigeria is wack after all.

If tomorrow these middle men you canvass for resell at 1800 Naira, you will be the first to complain that the Lake Rice programme failed. If a communist approach will solve the problem, then allow it; if not buy from another state. I reside in Edo and won't talk much on Lake rice as I am not a stakeholder, but why the fixation on Lagos state and any news that come from that area?
