I was stopped today 12/01/2021 by a Nigeria soldier and almost got harassed just because I looked fresh. The mumu was asking me what I do for a living.

Do you know in Nigeria, it's a crime for you to look fresh and you can be killed by any police just for looking fresh? Do you know in Nigeria, it is a crime for you to use an iPhone? You can get killed just for possessing an iPhone. They no born you well make you follow olokpa drag and speak English.

Do you know once you drive a nice car you are tagged a Yahoo boy in Nigeria even if you make your money legitimately? If you try dragging with them just know they will pull the trigger and you are gone.

Brothers, this country is not safe for human beings to live. People live like animals here. All the rubbish they do here, do they do such in saner climes? That's why people are making the move cuz they don't want to die an untimely death.

On the 30 Dec, 2020 around 5pm in a broad day light, my phone, 2 ATM cards and wallet were collected from me with a locally made pistol by 2 robbers.

Now, after experiencing all these ordeal, you will now be preaching to me it is nice to stay in Nigeria and make all the money so as to top forbe list when you know that insecurity is a big issue in this country.

You haven't secured your life, it is money that is our issues? When you know that even the common basic needs of humans saner climes offer are celebrated as luxuries here in a country of over 200 million people.

When our lives are not safe, is it money that will now be our priority?

Let's be honest with ourselves for once.

My top priority right now is not money but peace of mind and freedom to move even in the night without the fear of being kidnapped or robbed.

So, let' be guided with what we wish for.

Business › Re: My Brother's Salesgirl Is Stealing from Him, Should I Tell Him? by Mcslize:

The problems you listed are actually your answers.

Problem 1. Mind your business, what your brother does not know will not kill him besides you didn't say his business was doing badly because of her.

Problem 2. Forgive yourself.
Because

Problem 3.
She is a single mom who is vulnerable.
It is better she is cheating your brother to sustain her baby than she engages into prostitution.
If she dies from HIV or her baby dies from malnutrition because you made her lose her job or blocked her access..will you be able to forgive yourself?

She is young and attractive....you could as well start a relationship with her so that you can cater to her.
That way, what she steals is still within the family.

So in summary;
Mind your business and don't tell your brother. Forgive yourself for not telling your brother because the culprit is a single mother who needs to do what she is doing if she and her baby will survive.
Your write up is biased bro. Someone is stealing from her employer and here you are encouraging such act because she is a single mother. Truly you're nothing but a big clown.

Stealing is stealing irrespective of whether she is a single mother or not. What is she going to teach her child as a mother? She will teach the kid to also steal isn't it?

She is a greedy lady if not she will be contented with her salary or ask her employer to increase her salary rather than stealing from him.

It will be better she ask her employer to increase her salary rather than stealing from him. As an individual, I believe you won't like it if someone you entrust with something starts tealing from you. Will you like it? Be honest.

Put yourself in the employer's shoe. Sometimes we need to be unbiased and sincere with the type of advice we give to people here.

My xiaomi people, Las Las I listened to your advice and got the redmi note 9s this morning.
I bought the redmi note 9 pro. But redmi phones are getting too big. I meant the phone screen is extremely too big. I would have loved it more if it is 6.3" size as against the 6.67".

Too big

If we can have good security of lives and properties in Nigeria, my brother I can boldly tell you that Nigeria is second paradise cheesy cheesy
You are not supposed to be afraid of insecurity bro. You are a good patriot. Nigeria will protect you trust me. Just in case you get kidnapped, FG government will send its force to rescue you instantly just like US came to rescue their kidnapped Citizen in Nigeria with their force last year.

You are 100% protected brother. Your money will protect you as most of you always claim.

A good patriot like you supposed not to be scared of the insecurities in the country.

well as it does not work for u,it doesn't mean it won't work for others...all I know is there is so much opportunity there in abroad..base on experiences from friends and family
It might not really be a first world country he travelled to. People still call Afghanistan abroad na. And if anyone travels there, he will surely think he has travelled abroad as well na, but unknown to him, abroad get level.

Most abroad some persons always mentioned that they have travelled to are backyard developing, third world abroad. But when people are discussing abroad, they will still want to use their experience from a third world abroad to generalise first world countries that are the main abroad.

The OP has already done that. That is enough info on the two
What i will add is that travelling abroad and living abroad are two different things. When u travel u only see the things the want u to see, the beauty, infrastructure etc. But when u are living there, the nightmare will dawn on u. That said, everyone can make up their mind as to what they wish. I cant say people should use my experience not to emigrate. I can only tell u what i know, living in naija is far better!
Mention the country you lived in abroad. Which country?

No sir i have lived abroad before. i can travel for vacation but never to immigrate. Many people get there only to be shocked by the realities
The grass is not always greener on the other side. Immigration is not for everybody
There are different types of abroad, which one did you go? If it is Malaysia, bro that's not abroad. Cuz most of
you who managed to travel to one developing country are always fond of still claiming to have travelled abroad whereas it's still a developing country.

I believe it's not a first world country you are referring to as you have travelled abroad before.

My annoyance is that all the people that writes about migrating to Canada are actually resident there, holed up in Brampton or Calgary and be discouraging people from embarking on the same journey.

It is already a well known fact that Nigerians abroad hates fellow Nigerians trying to make the same immigration journey. I don't know why. Please leave people to make their decision.
So the Op is even living abroad?

Exactly. One babe I am newly dating came visiting yesterday and one guy was bombarding her with calls. I didn't bother myself asking her who he was. She was just busying the guy call..na weti concern me? grin

She was having her swell time with me and the guy just can't stop calling. I no bother myself at all.

Yea so true, bkos I feel he should have blanked out her name since it was screen shot.

Nevertheless OP, you day try ooo, but why rush into premature conclusion's? Anyways you know the lady better, me I won't judge her by the text she sent you, but by the content of her character, it shows you don't trust her or has she lied before? Is this a pattern or the first time happening? Bkos u are using the situation and gut to come to conclusion.

Well na you know watin you want. What ever you decide is up to you, but I think you should seek to understand people more, bkos behind every action is a mindset sponsoring it, you should have dug deeper when she is around, so that you make am informed decision.
It will take a smart guy to know that the girl is with another of her guy. She is simply double dating. Did you read where he told op that he should pretend to be her customer? And also she told op the guy she was with when Op called was her brother. That's a pure broad day lie. That's the trick ladies that double date use.

Some that are even dating old men will claim the man is their uncle. Nobody needs to tell op she was with another guy, so the guy wanted to know who the heck was calling his girl at that point of which he is still unaware that the said girl is dating op too along side him.

She is definitely playing both of them. That guy is not her brother. It's another guy she is with who she is still dating together with op.

Guys need to be smart to detect simple lies like these from girls. This is too glaring na.

My fiancé wants me to use my first name as my surname for our children instead of my initial surname, is it a bad idea, please advise. She said she likes my first name instead.
There is nothing wrong with that. I grew up using my immediate father's name instead of the usual family name of the man that is the father of the father of my father (so to say). And that's what the rest of my other siblings and I have been using right from time.

While my immediate father uses the usual family name in addition to his own name that we have in all our documents.

I see nothing wrong using one's immediate father's name.

the answer is simple, to save yourself the stress, just get a new sim card and register it with the name on ur NIN shekena

Phones › Re: Linking NIN To SIM: Matters Arising by Mcslize: 12:21am On Jan 09, 2021
Bossman:
A lot of people, myself included, are going to run into these name issues. During the early days of sim registration a lot of people used short first names, because they did not require any official ID back then. Same thing with BVN. However most people have their full names on official documents, such as passports, birth certs., etc. So if NIMC/Telcos are trying to match on firsname, a lot will fail! Normally most modern software systems should match on a combination of DOB and Lastname. Then if multiple are found that match, it can be narrowed down by adding firstname and a variation of firstname, such as Segun, Olusegun, Oluwasegun. Going this route should 'uniquely' identify someone and eliminate most of these problems. The NIMC system is just not written well in my opinion.
Exactly. That's the same issue I faced. I used my middle name and surname to register my sim. But on my national ID card that carries my NIN, I skipped that middle name and used only my first name and surname.

Just for that slight omission, mtn office said they can't link the sim to my NIN. I was even recommending to them that this is a matter of swearing an affidavit for correction of names to correct the one on their system to match what I have on my National ID card. But they seems not to reason in that direction. Whate clueless bunch of people!

I just jejely went home.

Are you a crook?? Thats on a lighter note but why would you register sim A with one name then sim B with a slightly different name from the first sim.?
Some used their middle names to register their sims but skip that middle name on their national ID card that bear the NIN.

It's a matter of swearing an affidavit for correction of names and verify the person finger print to confirm he or she is the owner of the sim. That's how they supposed resolve those with name issues.

They are just clueless bunch of people handling this linking things.

If you know the name you use to register your sim doesn't tally with what's on your national ID card, don't just bother.

Whichever discrepancy this thing is just needed to curb insecurity.
A lady here just lost all the money in her account after her phone was stolen, and a sim was used to buy card with the money.

The rate of cyber fraud in our days is alarming, and a step like this is needed asap.
Read what the op wrote. He wasn't saying we shouldn't link our sim. He is talking about many persons who are having errors in their names. Mtn is sending them away that they can't link their Sims cuz of error in their names.

The person finger print and picture is there. It is a matter of swearing an affidavit for the corrections of those with name issues. It is as simple as that. But right now heck no, they are clueless as to how to resolve that.

But now they are saying, simply because you skip your middle name in their data, they can't link the line and retrieve it.

Can you see how clueless they are?
