odimbannamdi: Hello Boss,
I am shopping for this item presently. However, i noticed that most of the ones on AE and Jumia are in mili values, e.g, mA, mAh and Wh, as opposed to yours that is A, Ah and kWh respectively. I am guessing it would still work as yours, only that i would just need to multiply or divide by 100, yea?
Also, i noticed they come in A rating. I have seen one of 50A, 100A and even 300A. I remember the P=IV formular from my Physics lessons, where P is power, I is current and V is volts. Relating them, i am guessing that the more A rating the device has, the more the watt loads it can read without going dysfunctional. Am i in correct? Should i base my final buying decision on the basis of high A rating?
Kindly advise
Thanks! Buy the highest rating, at least you can't go wrong with higher rating. Also I think the mAh is just picture. |

Omachona: Good afternoon house. Please I am using car battery and I want to ask the following questions.
1. Can I charge the battery to 14 volts or what voltage should I stop?
2. Under load, at what voltage should I disconnect the battery? Check the battery specification sheet to find out how much voltage you can charge the batteries to. Your inverter should be able to cut off the battery if it drains to the cut off point. Ideally you are not supposed to use a car battery to power up inverter. But if one has a car battery and is not using it for any other thing, then you just gotta use it for this. |

SoftHeart: Thanks Sir. So I asked some questions from the man as advised by @ceaser and I got the following information from him.
Brand: Soccer Power Inverter
Type: 2.5KVA Pure Sine Wave Inverter
Battery: Altimate Agm 200Ah, 12VDC High Quality. 2 batteries.
Panel: 2 panels (280W)
Are you going to use MPPT charge controller? No. I will use PWM Charge Controller The MPPT is meant for multiple solar panels, like 16panels, While the PWM is meant for 2 or more. Is this information about the charge controller correct?
Also, please what's your advice on this? Kindly contact installers here. Even if they can't make it to your location. Even if it involves paying a fee, some of them can help you get what you want. Then you can get an installer your end to do the job. My first panel was four numbers of 130w panel. I used MPPT CC. Never used a PWM CC and I wonder if I ever will. I doubt two solar panels (probably 250w or less) will be enough to charge two 12v 200ah batteries. Unless of course your load is like 50w or less. Edit: I just saw where you said the solar panel is 280w, is that the size for each or for the two panels? |

odimbannamdi: Lol...Boss, as long as na one-man installer, there is now way in hell he will agree to do that. I once asked a seller that sells battery to send me a pic of his luminous battery so that i can make some decisions, the baba was just tossing me about until he eventually jokingly told me to come to his shop and see it so that i can buy it at once. I just weak. The one man installer should be able to give you a breakdown of what you are paying for. Failure to do that means he's up to no good. Note, installation costs varies, the experts do not shy away from giving you their cost (they are experts for a reason and will deliver quality job). Eg Installer A can collect 20k for installation, while installer B will collect 50k for the same job. It does not make installer B to be the greedy person as he may plan to use more quality items to do the job. I've seen the likes of installer A use components that will surprise you, eg I saw one use a 4mm² single core aluminium cable as the battery link! Please do not engage any installer (it's your money you have the right to know how it's going to be spent ) that refuses to give you a breakdown, especially when you asked for it, as they may not even know what they are doing! |

But as a typical Nigerian u no go like the stress, so u'll just let it go..... Once again congratulations I wish Jumia review is like ALIEXPRESS review, I don't joke with review (good or bad one). I was once offered some $ for a positive review on an inferior product as an incentive. I declined and fired the seller 1-star (wish they have 0 star) for selling shìt to me. I'll write their customer care (although there is a high chance they won't do anything). At least I've done my part, it's now left for the management to follow up or not. Reviews are great for every business, both online and offline, and I don't hesitate to use all means to give it. |

omotoda: Maybe orientation. One set is on the west while one is on the east.Although my roof is almost flat so I really do not see that affecting it. Are both batteries on same state of discharge? A battery almost full will take lesser charge current. This test can only be fair if both batteries are same capacity and also at same state of discharge with PVs positioned in same location and angle. |

I can't really fault NIPOST as my experiences with em has been generally ok. Never lost a single package, all my package that never arrived I got refunded. I've even received package 6 months after I have been refunded. Unfortunately, in most of these instances I can't reach seller as some have either closed or gone out of business. I never really understand why most AE sellers keep closing stores and I guess opening under a new name. AE must've made it very easy for this to happen.
It's been long I ordered phone off AE. But all my goods that I never received is either lost in transit or still in China. Never had issues where my items are in Nigeria (from tracking info) and didn't get to me. |

Most could've gotten out alive if the bus slowly rolled into the river. But judging from the number of deaths, it crashed. That's a very sad news. Their only saviour could've been if there were any bystanders that can swim, who immediately it happened rushed to the scene. But I guess no one was around, or noticed until it was too late. |

I'm just glad I'll be getting my money back I once bought an accessory for a phone, phone arrived before accessory. Phone was from the US and accessory from China. Phone arrived three months before accessory. Before accessory could arrive phone got stolen. One day I got a call I have an item at the PO, I rushed and it was the accessory and was told to pay ₦500 as postal fees. I just vex pay and now the accessory is just lying there and I can't even sell it as the phone is not a popular phone here (Google Pixel). These days even the accessory is lost, I just tire for shipping post covid19. |

Mystiq25: Those of you that used DHL as shipping method, how do you cope with the exorbitant shipping fees? Most times the shipping fee is greater than the price of the item, do you negotiate or what? We usually buy many and sort of do a lil maths. We add the total shipping cost and cost of item and divide it with the quantity of item bought and see if it makes sense. Other times we just pay without this maths especially for items we can't source locally as the item is just not in Nigeria. If item is in Nigeria why not buy local and save some money if sourcing outside is costlier? |

ojeysky: Yes indeed are you using the 300A shunt version? and does it look and feel like it could carry that much current? I actually bought the 100A version. It sure can handle that. My load never even goes to 30% of that capacity. That is why I never bothered with the higher shunt capacity. Bought in Alibaba though. Shared AE link as it is easier. |

How do you connect it to your system? I tried watching some videos on Youtube, but e hard me to understand. Is there a minimum requirement one's system should meet before being able to use this particular spec?
Meanwhile, what is the actual name of the device? Where did you get yours? How much is it? Can you drop us a link?
Sorry about my many questions. I want to be able to spot the vitals of my system closely, so that if there is any issue, we will know where to begin tracing from.
Thanks It'll come with connection diagram. It's quite simple. Just follow the instruction and you are good to go. |

odimbannamdi: Wow! So there is actually a device that can measure all 3 vitals!?
I just checked on Youtube now and it does exists! Make i go find am.
Baba, what requirement would they need of my system to design one for me? My system will be a 12volt system (1 12v battery and a 12v inverter). This is the device that I use which may serve your purpose.

ojesymsym: This type of battery connection always confuses me when I see it. Each battery has 6 terminals, how does that work? Do you have a drawing for it? Don't be confused, each side (made up of three terminals) is either positive or negative. But this is a massive capacity so only one terminal won't be enough to handle the current that can be drawn from it. Notice how someone used a long bar on first battery to join the battery terminal. On second attached picture you can see that is a 48v system if you follow the connection, just assume each three cables coming from each battery is one to further simplify it.

GeorgeD1: you're right bro, but i didn't get mine from him. i guess other guys (probably not on this forum) saw the great bargain and quickly grabbed them. by the time i made contact, they were long gone.
so, yes. those batteries are actually industrial type off-grid lead acid batteries (if you check the specs i posted earlier on). they are the type you find at telecoms base stations, bank ups rooms, remote sites for weather monitoring equipment, etc given their size and weight, they are an "install and forget" kind of investment. nobody expects to be changing out such massive size of batteries every two, three or five years. it's really back-breaking work aside the financial outflow. how they suddenly became available to the public as "project left over" is still a puzzle i'm yet to resolve... Especially base stations and switch. It's truly "install and forget". Congratulations, you probably won't be buying battery for the next decade or more. |
