Thanks if I may will it be much or is there anyway to determine how much one can pay?
Tell the shipper to reduce the actual cost. grin
It may or may not help. But the custom duty varies between 10% to as much as 20%.

Summary, duty in Nigeria is R.A.N.D.O.M

Wait, you can edit your dispute and add more evidence (if you have any).

Open dispute after five days of end of the purchase protection and it will be valid. If you open immediately purchase protection ends, you will get an invalid judgement; this judgement is automatic.

Some suppliers can act very funny sometimes. That was how I placed an order to be shipped via a particular shipping company but the seller changed it all of a sudden, telling me the option he chose was cheaper.

Like what d fvck, didn't I pay for that method of shipping??
Did you agree? I'll tell you then and there that I'll open dispute should you try that

I have an mppt charge controller that has fully charged my good battery on time. In order to use the excess solar power i want to connect the load terminal on the cc to one dead battery then connect the battery to inverter.
How do i set up the load terminal without using the stored energy in the good battery?
Some inverter can offer what you want, once battery is full and there is power, then excess power from solar panel is channeled straight for use. Unless you have such feature in your inverter you are then forced to either manually or automatically switch your battery source from the good one to the bad one, but doing this may result in two things, if your solar charge controller is not the type that can work without battery it'll fry when you are changing battery if the PV is not disconnected. Secondly, the inverter will go off when the sun momentarily goes down and the bad battery is not enough to handle the current load.

But why not use the good battery if your PV is properly sized?

As the battery becomes fully charged, the current will taper down to a value which overcomes the small losses in the float condition and the inverter standby load if turned on. If a load is introduced to the inverter the array will divert current to the inverter, as long as the load current dose not exceed the array output, the battery will remain in its fully charged state. If however the load is greater than the array output, the battery will make up the difference thereby discharging in the amount of the deficit the array cannot support.

Care must be taken to ensure the loads don't exceed the arrays ability by too great a margin, each system is different so getting to know what your system can supply is of paramount importance, watching the battery voltage during such loads can give an indication, if the voltage begins to drop, then the battery is being discharged. If you have a clamp on ammeter the current from the array and the load current can be measured to ensure they are close. Passing clouds will sometimes draw current from the battery but if the arrays output is sufficiently sized it will replenish what was taken out, one has to study the system over time to learn it's limitations and maintain a ballance.

They are not suppose to charge customs duty on one personal item like phone and computer which is for personal use but they do charge because the Nigerian public are ignorant. The funny part is that they pocket the money for themselves
Most of their custom charges are payable into the official account of with DHL or FedEx or whichever entity that is package is on. I'm yet to see one being paid into a personal account.

Yes, i made enquiry about this and they said i have to source for dollar from beurea de change which is quite expensive.
That's why people hardly use that option. Try agents for help, their rate may also not be as friendly as that obtainable from using the debit card from your naira dominated account.

BoltSwith:
Good Day folks. I made an order for a refurbished LG phone since 3rd June using AESS. The phone is repackaged as if new i.e. in pack with earpiece, charger and user manual. I have seen some comments (on some seller's page) by some buyers from other countries that their customs office held back the phone with the reason that the seller lowered the price (i.e quoted a wrong amount on the pack for a brand new phone of that model) to avoid paying some custom duties. The buyer had to go bail the phone with some cash even after explaining that the phone isn't brand new. My questions are:

1). Does such happen with our Nigerian Customs? (Given that it was shipped with AESS).

I was called on Friday (14th Aug) to come pick up an item I ordered 3 weeks after I ordered the phone (through same AESS). After collecting the item, I asked them to check their system if my parcel (the phone) has arrived, I was told that their server has been down since Tuesday (11th Aug).

2). Does the PO computer only have record of parcels in that particular post office OR the computer can check Nipost database for parcels that have been received and registered by Nipost (countrywide)??
The Nigerian custom duty fees is a game of chance and luck. Mr A and Mr B can buy exactly the same product, while Mr A gets his package without duty, Mr B has to pay a huge custom duty. So no guarantee that a package will not get duty until it arrives and didn't get one!

The PC at the PO checks the tracking using internet and not intranet. You, too, can track your package. NIPOST tracking website (https://www.nipost.gov.ng/Track_Trace) these days works when it feels like. You are better off running your tracking yourself using the multiple tracking websites such track24 .net, 17track . net etc.

Purchase protection expired yesterday on my Aliexpress order made on 16th May & shipped on 18th May via Aliexpress Standard Shipping (Singapore Post)

Today, I opened dispute, uploaded screenshots of the tracking details which was last updated on June 23rd as "Dispatched to Destination Country" and requested for a full refund of USD $32.85 but Aliexpress decided the dispute against me.

USD $32.85 is a lot of money to lose at this point in time.

Pls, how can I win this dispute?

Note : Orders I made after this particular one and were shipped via AE standard shipping (Singapore Post) have all arrived Nigeria and have been picked up by me last month.

I genuinely believe this one has been lost in transit and will never come.
Wait five days after purchase protection has ended to open dispute. If you open it immediately after it has finished, you will automatically get an invalid reply.

Hello. Pls who knows how I can pay for goods worth $600 on Aliexpress
Three options here:

1) Use your domiciliary account to pay.

2) Max out three Zenith bank naira debit card, but first tell seller to split payment into 3 (each $200 which is the maximum amount allowable per month).

3) Use third party agents (can't recommend any).

I have been at their office in PH, well organized and beautiful office space. From my enquiry, l found out most of their branches operate differently, like different minimum amount for each investment plan.. The DW got their business model wrong with date of payment. What’s 3-7 days. People make budget on their money, and no specific date here. Their marketers and branch representatives are rude and not honest. They don’t like to be told the truth. They run the whole thing as if they are scammers. They started with insurance policy that was denied by sovereign insurance company. They started telling people that EFCC vets and approves money before they pay out. That’s why the delay. Why can’t they send the payment sheet on time. Now the delay is because they want to start paying on the exact date. One of their WhatsApp groups only the admins comment. They locked it so that investors should not comment and tell the people what is really happening. Even the way one of the admins who is one of branch heads talks, very rude and arrogant.
MY MAN these are the telltale signs of a scam. If you see all these signs and still "invest" in them, then when your capital goes missing you know who to blame is YOU cool

Radio station is a commercial enterprise, most don't really care about the information they spread as they get paid for it. MMM was once advertised in radio and TV as a "poverty alleviation" program.

11 days after and she is yet to get her ROI? If technical challenges can prevent you guys from paying, shouldn't it prevent you guys also from receiving investors money.
This is just the signal to show that lesser number of people are registering. If they are making as much profit from whatever they do to make money, why the ad to get more people? The people are the product. But as usual, those that want quick cash won't listen until it is too late. In every Ponzi scheme, the winners are usually the early "investors". This is like re-watching a horror film, you know the actor will die once he opens the door, you secretly wish the actor doesn't open it. But he does anyway and get killed. Now I'm watching another Ponzi scheme in the guise of investment, but of cause no one will listen to what we say until it happens that the website no longer works. The office is suddenly closed. Owner has jetted out of the country. Then we will be here to read the lamentations. It's a familiar scene, we have seen it so many times.

That's how MMM started, of course, they'll be stories and even "facts" about the delay. The real MVP are those that "invested" first. The bubble will soon bust when they do not get new members. No real investment can GUARANTEE you 500% of your capital in a year and still be SUSTAINABLE. Of course the paid agents and owners will come out with excuses as to why that is possible. In the real world, that is just not sustainable.

weblord1900:
Sounds too good to be true
Because it is not true, just follow that gut feeling.

I think we, the people that sees a scam and says it's one, have tried. I rest my case here.

Of course those that has benefited from this Ponzi will come out with guns blazing with "facts" to back their claims that these guys aren't running Ponzi, but if it looks like Ponzi, has all the telltale signs of Ponzi and acts like Ponzi, can it be anything else but Ponzihuh

Last word, no GENUINE investment will sustain such humongous ROI payment system for long.

Hello sorry for quoting you but I'm in a state of dilemma
I tried to order for a sample of something and the shipping fee was times 8 of the product I was ordering (0.1kg)
Why is Alibaba and AliExpress shipping fee so expensive and is there anyway to reduce those exorbitant prices or any other shipping agent I can use apart from the one they recommended.
Shipping is the real Achilles heel in the importation business. Getting cheap and efficient shipping is just that major factor that one needs to enjoy importation. So, it's not surprising when you see x10 the price of an item as shipping fee. These crazy shipping is not exclusive to AliExpress and Alibaba but to every international shipping done is very expensive.

Ways to reduce cost is to look for third party shipping agents, chat enough sellers till you see one willing to ship at a cheaper rate, buy large quantities and negotiate discount, check if there are local vendors selling same. I've seen some goods that I thought can only be sourced overseas here after much search online at a cheaper rate (goods must've been bought in bulk and shipped via sea).

Why don't you just shop for it on AE?

I got two units about three weeks ago 29k apiece but used DHL option. Got to me in 12 days; no customs charges. Shipping was I think 11k with DHL option compared to 5k with the regular shipping which is complete wack at the moment, thanks to COVID.

You may have DHL issues with your location though. Seller says some DHL- designated remote locations will require extra 45 USD charge aside the 11k shipping charge. One thing I also didn't know then was that you can negotiate DHL shipping fee with the seller which is something I'll never forget to do henceforth.

Abeg if you go do am that way, you fit hep me find 14s Li-on 18/65/0 30amp BMS hide for inside? cheesy. I ordered one last week but with regular shipping. And the way regular logistics from China is going, it may not arrive this year.

Are the table fan and standing fan of the same blade diameter? Please feedback on the fair consumption that may make it desirable over other brands.

Meanwhile, got a 12v orbit fan installed a week ago, costs 12k. Three speed and works fine so far. Strictly connected to 12v DC for now, I intend to connect an external AC power pack to measure the consumption later as the inverter freezer is monopolizing the wattmeter at the moment. The nameplate says 12 watts though.
