You are missing the possibility of liquidating him to avoid him implicating the police and soldiers who may be involved with him. Why can’t you think of that?
You enemies of Nigeria like concocting nonsense, he could very well be a terrorist.
Terrorists are killed, death to all terrorists and their sympathizers...this is warfare, terrorists declared war on us...we have to kill them all. World war 2, the Allies killed over 50million people to preserve their ways of life, when you declare war on a people, you give them the rights to kill you and all your kids and families, because a a terrorist kid will become a terrorist.

Please how is killing an handcuffed man good news?
Was that not how the extrajudicial killing of Yusuf led to the radicalisation of Boko Haram terrorists?
You prefer they kidnap your mom or rape your sister?

Why not go live with terrorists, since you love them so much...they have been declared terrorists, terrorist are killed. America killed Osama, they didn't arrest him, along with his kids.

PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Removal: NNPC Contracts Innoson Motors To manufacture city buses by mediainc: 6:58am On Nov 28, 2021
Energy is key to our economy...every business uses energy, making it hard for Nigerians to afford fuel, will lead to decline in economic activity and decline in spending and taxes.

Removal of subsidy on fuel will affect Nigeria's economy adversely...every small shop has a generator, every Nigerian has a small generator that he buys fuel for everyday. Government should ensure 24hrs power supply, before thinking of removing fuel subsidy.

Is it because of IMF advice that is making our government remove the subsidy?

IMF is a private club, they are only concerned about making profits off loans they give to poor countries, they don't care about our economy or lives.

200million Nigerians use fuel everyday, government should not destroy our economy just to keep money for corrupt governors and political office holders.

Quick one.
I rather think we vote them in to 'lead'. Knowledge is not the sole preserve of government and there are far more think tanks outsides of government than there are in it. Government only needs to be skilled in listening and aggregating and assimilating ideas to be successful.

Your argument is valid.
Energy and Petroleum costs/prices are critical to any nation on earth but the struggle has always been between national economies and the economies of individual citizens. Someone must pay and so far in the history of Nigeria the people have allowed the government take all the hard decisions.

But step back and realise this. Government is US. We pay for this one way or the other and this subsidy thing has taken value out of our pockets silently and assuredly. We are getting poorer as a people year on year. What the removal of subsidies will bring is order to this chaos. We will be hit by massive inflation no doubt but we will succeed in removing the last excuse any government (present and future) has not to develop this country properly.
The state governors are not good people, you and I know this, what are the state governors doing with all the funds they get?

Giving more money to state governors to the detriment of the people will lead to more poverty and money for a select few.

It is important, indeed imperative for money to flow in the hands of the greatest number. Small business creates more than 70% of employment/empowerment in Nigeria. Give state governors more money it only goes into politicking. Please be realistic.

Fuel subsidy helps put more money in the hands of 220million Nigerians. Government should get the subsidy mechanism right not scrap it.

I didn't say it is the sole duty of government to think...but they are there being paid with public funds, as workers to find solutions and indeed think smartly...like public office holders in other nations are thinking.

They have a job to do, if not capable, they should resign, like political offices holders in other countries do, they are not there to get paid, not to think. They must think, they are the managers of the society, most times your thinking amounts to just threads and articles or books, but they are the decision makers, their ability to think we'll matters much more, the people must vote in thinkers...so you miss the context.

Those subsidies you speak about in other climes are mainly production subsidies where government supports industries with cash, credit, waivers, patronage, etc.

What you are asking to be sustained in Nigeria is consumption subsidies which is inherently problematic as it directly confronts government revenues, they require instant and constant resource deployment and can only be sustained by cash (scarce foreign exchange) in our case which puts massive pressure on the naira.

That is why most who sit on the fence about this subsidy debacle say, repair the refineries first so that the subsidies go to the refinery operators to 'incentify' them to keep prices low. And because production subsidies are not necessarily cash driven the fear of products driven across the borders will abate.

It should be of concern to every citizen of this country that part of the reason our naira continues to weaken is because we are essentially subsidising a good chunk of the economies of our west african neighbours via cheap gasoline.
There are ways they can get the subsidy right, we voted them into power to think.

Transportation is very important to Nigerians, if you increase fuel, you increase transportation, and reduce the residual income of the people, the flow of economic activity in the society is stagnated because the majority of the people have less to spend on basic items. The goal should be to put the money in the hands of the greatest number to be able to afford basic things, this circulates currency and economic flow across the nation. The role of government is to keep economic activities flowing to ensure continuous tax flows into government pockets.

There is no guaranty that the state governors will use the funds judiciously.

I have a bright idea on how government can eradicate corruption in the fuel or any other subsidy arrangements...the government can work with banks and create fuel cards, direct via BVN, every citizen will be given quotas/discounts when they buy fuel with the card, that will be issued by their bank. CBN and banks can do the plus and minus. This will eradicate subsidy fuel stealing or movement to other countries. Use the banks. Government should think smart...the people deserve subsidy/welfare or whatever you want to call it.

Fuel is very important, every small business owner has a small generator that uses fuel, government should encourage these businesses...if cost of production is too high, prices for goods and services will increase, and this will reduce demand, discouraging business owners from going into start ups and entrepreneurship.

The economic advisers must think this through.

PoliticsRe: NANS Threatens To Shut Down Nigeria Over FG's Planned Subsidy Removal by mediainc: 7:44am On Nov 27, 2021
The people deserve subsidy, is the only thing we gain as citizens. Subsidy is done for citizens in all countries of the world...UK and America, food and basic necessities are subsidized, most Arab countries bread is subsidized.

Reduce cost of governance not subsides, I have not seen one house of representatives member, governor, or member of the executive, push for reduction of cost of governance, but they are quick to enact policies that will suffer the people.

Nigerians what type of people are you voting into positions of authority?
