We've one foot and four toes in the final, but we're not there yet. It's not done and dusted yet. The key thing for tonight's match is to keep it tight at the back. Madrid are coming out to chase the game and will field a very attacking line up. Madrid have a very fearsome attack and are very capable of scoring. We must not give them any hope of a comeback by conceding. holydante: Hi 5 Cules,
As the disciplinary bumhaha continues, UCL semi's on my mind.
I just gleaned from our website now that Abidal and Iniesta are back in the squad and included for tomorrow's fixture.
Mehn, I am one happy fellar, however I slightly feel Abidal is a bit rushed but I guess the good doctors know better than I do.
Having an Alves, Puyi, Pique and Abidal again in a line up, omg, the Lord is good. I know its not our pattern but assuming we play 2 DMF's moro??
Meanwhile I have a slight nudge that Alves may collect a second yellow tomorrow or get matching orders, I just pray he doesnt mistime any tackle and keeps his head down. An early goal scored by any against Madrid will put us in the driving seat for a cruise controlled game.
Welcome to Lion-El-Messi's hunting ground, The Camp Nou.
We are Barcelona If Alves picks up a Yellow, it would be the second time he'd be missing a CL final. I pray he stays clean in tonight's game, maybe, he gets subed early. 2 DM's? I've thought of it too. But with all these hulabaloo about Mou's negative tactics, I don't think Pep would consider it. They'd say he's being cautious. Playing with two DM's is not a defensive tactic, even Spain plays 2 DM's - Alonso and Busquets. But at Barca, we have a reputation to protect. |

adeyemik: Well guys,
Don't let us be fooled by the antic of Gaddafi. Questions need to be answered to prove that the son and 3 grand children were killed -
1. Why was the face of the son killed not shown to the whole world when the corpse was displayed on the libyan state TV?
2. According to the spoke man, Gaddafi and his wife were both in the building when the bomb blasted and yet Gadaffi and the wife were not hurt. Is this possible? Report from military analyst says, there is no way a bomb of such nature, destroying such a fortified mansion and Gaddafi and his wife will escape without a scratch.
Guys, from all the analysis I have listened and read, Gaddafi is only trying to get the sympathy of the world and has decided to employ such a lying tactics. Absolutely! This is some cheap a.s.s propaganda |

AjanleKoko: No need to grow a heart attack guys. Firstly Madrid also lost, so nothing changes. Secondly, it was good, as always, to see the bench guys get a good runout. I was pleased to see Montoya and Fontas, and was particularly pleased with Fontas's performance. Confident and balanced, though a little inexperienced. But he is coming through the ranks. We need to bring on these Barca B boys, and these are the games to do so. The more these guys play, the more they grow in confidence. I'm happy the big boys, apart from stubborn Messi, got a good rest ahead Tuesday. The CL tie isn't over yet.
He's not a CB, that's just what it is. He has had great games in the middle of late, recovers balls well, has a strong tackle and recovery, but doesn't hold up the ball and pass well enough for me. He has no business playing center back, neither him nor Busi. But I think with them both, we are covered in defensive midfield next year.
It always surprises me that Keita struggles in defensive midfield. I think its just because of his age, he's slower and does not seem to have the tactical discipline, though the natural ability is there. Shoot me now. But I think we should sign Cesc. We need his Premier League experience. I would pay for that. Keita is not a natural DM, he's a central midfielder like Xavi. He's better at attacking than at defending. The DM position is too deep for him. As per Cesc, I think they're gonna make a move for him because Arsenal are willing to sell. I'm quite ambivalent about the issue myself. Why I think we should sign Cesc: - He really wants to play for us and he would wear his heart on his sleeve each time he wears the blue and claret jersey. - He is really good and experienced, the team could use a little more quality. - Most importantly, he's a goal scoring midfielder. We hardly have goal scorers outside MVP and bringing Cesc would take some burden off them. He's also good from setplays. Why we shouldn't sign Cesc: -We don't really need him. MVP are always gonna score goals. Xavi and Iniesta are always gonna dominate the midfield and set up goals. The squad is near perfect. Only our defence needs reinforcements. - Who's he gonna displace in the starting line up? We can't spend all that money and he would be on the bench. -What would happen to Thiago? He'll certainly be an obstacle to our ever improving Thiago's progress. -The least he would go for is £ 30 million. Certainly a gyp . -We would have to sell Keita. |

Of course, Pele is a football great; a legend, perhaps the greatest of all time. No one can take his place in football history. 3 time world cup winner, won the world cup as a 17 year old in 1958 scoring 6 goals, scored over 1200 career goals, was part of the 1970 world cup winning team described by many as the greatest football team ever - these are feats that can never ever be matched. But truly, Pele needs to stop shoving the greatest of all time tag down our throat. |

AjanleKoko: Line up for Saturday's game: Valdés, Pinto, Alves, Piqué, Xavi, Villa, Messi, Mascherano, Keita, Sergio, Pedro, Milito, Afellay, Jeffren, Fontàs (26), Thiago (30), Montoya (40), Sergi Roberto (28), and Gerard Deulofeu (41). From TotalBarca.
Madridistas will post 100 articles where 'the world' agrees that Barca is a team of cheating referee-buying scumbags, who by the way play fantastic football.
CR7: Barca are a fantastic team but they cheat too much. Adebayor: Barca are a fantastic team , but they cry too much. Mou: Barca are a fantastic team, the players are fantastic, even their coach is fantastic, but they have bribed the entire world to award red cards in their favour.
Gone are they days when people used to lose quietly. Now, we hear stuff like this:
'We were controlling the game before the red card. We had a plan to keep the game at 0-0, then bring on 3 forwards, and now move to a phase 3 with a number 10 behind the three forwards'. Na so. The game na playstation?
We should ask for Barca's 'Hypothetical' version:
'We were doing okay. Real don't even want the ball right now, and we've been diving every time they try to get physical. That has slowed them down somewhat. But we know it's only a matter of time before they ask for their red card, and we'll plead for Stark to give it to them. We'll then take them apart.'. I expect a tight game. Sociedad are battling relegation and would give a serious fight. I love what I saw from Sergi Roberto in midweek, I'd love to see him play. He's attracting lots of serious interest from England. I'd love Alves to get a rest in this one. He has played in almost all our matches this season. I won't be surprised if he has more appearances than Valdes this season. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: The Galacticos (Real Madrid Fans Only) by medjai(m): 3:16pm On Apr 29, 2011 |
In football, playing against 10 men guarantees you nothing. Last season, I watched a Mou led Inter defeat Milan 2-0 with 9 men. If UEFA truly were biased towards Barca, there are better ways of helping them out instead of having opposing team players sent off. Mou should just quit this conspiracy theory thingy. He's really embarrassing himself. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: FC Barcelona Fan Thread: "Més Que Un Club" by medjai(m): 1:47pm On Apr 29, 2011 |
medjai: Mou is one gaffer that has really benefitted from poor officiating. In his time with Porto, when they played United in the CL, Scholes had a clean goal that was disallowed. If that goal had stood, Porto would have been knocked out and Mou would have been an unknown element in the coaching world today. With Inter last year, Milito's offside goal was allowed to stand when the played us in the semis. In the Copa this season, Madrid would have been knocked out by Sevilla if Fabiano's goal was allowed. The ball clearly crossed the line. It's really annoying when Mou keeps ranting and ranting about the "scandal of Stamford Bridge" More on Mou's hypocrisy http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2011/04/29/2463454/scholes-2004-abidal-2009-milito-2010-jose-mourinho-is-a |
