What really is the issue here? Is it the amount spent on purchasing the jet or the necessity of the jet itself? |
9jaganja:By my simple calculation, you were probably born in early nineties, hmmmmmmmmmm, no wonder. That is not an excuse for your intellectual and historical malnutrition, stagnation and atrophy. You should endeavour to read historical literatures, because they abound. Without opening that hole you call mouth, you have already taken side. Nigerians have refused to accept that events leading to the war proper was simply genocide, massacre of the highest order. So many enlightened individuals have continually painted the right picture for your likes, but you have simply sworn to miss the bus to truth, that's your own palaver. The best i can do is to avail you books you ought to read in order to salvage your lost soul from the torment of ignorance. WHY WE STRUCK (The story of the first Nigeria coup) - Adewale Ademoyega BECAUSE I AM INVOLVED - Ojukwu Odumegwu NIGERIA: THE CHALLENGE OF BIAFRA - Nwankwo Arthur THE PRINCIPLES OF BIAFRA REVOLUTION - Ojukwu Odumegwu LET TRUTH BE TOLD: THE COUP D'ETAT OF 1966 - Muffet D.J.M NZEOGWU - Olusegun Obasanjo ETHNIC POLITICS IN NIGERIA - Okwudibia Nnoli AHIARA DECLARATION, OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT PUBLICATION ON BIAFRAN CIVIL WAR - Ojukwu Odumegwu BIAFRA: RANDOM THOUGHTS - Ojukwu Odumegwu There are so many documented literatures by active participants, all you needed to do since you were born 23 years after the war was to do a little research before making utterance that could easily betray you or expose your ineptitude. |
Bliv me, she does not deserve u 1 bit. My advice? Open up to new relationships, dat way u can only meet so many oda nice girls out dia-because they are out dia. |
From your statement above, i can now reasonably deduce your age and ability to comprehend, meaning i've been wasting my precious time with a toddler. Go on, read nursery ryhmes. If you could open your mouth and say individuals like Omotosho Kole, Olusegun Obasanjo, Madiebo, Ojukwu, Frederick Forsyth, Achuzia J.O.G, Ademoyega Adewale and many more who actively participated or were alive to tell their story are considered hear-say, then you need to have your head examined, because an unexamined life is not worth living. |
@ KunleOshob Your analysis are sound and well noted. Really, where does all this leave the poor masses of Nigeria? Some of this individuals are benefitting from the ills of our past and present leaders, who gave them soft landing at the expense of all of us. |
She does not deserve you one bit. A girl that loves you and for who you are would never indulge in such things. Listen, this girl will inflict a major havoc on you sooner or later, if you continue with her or allow her space for such frivolity, believe me. |
mystics:Infact, more than anything else. |
More Troubles For Iwu By Felix Nnamdi /Abuja A federal high court sitting in Abuja, this morning, cleared the way for the investigation of Prof. Maurice Iwu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who was fingered in a N27 billion fraud at the commission. This development has compounded the woes of the embattled Iwu, as Nigerians are calling for his removal following the farudulent elections he conducted in 2007, which the courts are upturning all over the country. Alhaji Balarabe Musa, Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) and other chieftains of the association had approached the court yesterday, through a motion ex-parte, seeking the leave of the court for an order of mandamus to compel the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the INEC boss. In his ruling this morning, Justice Adamu Bello granted the CNPP officials leave to file for an order of mandamus as requested. According to the judge: “Having considered the materials placed before me, I feel inclined to grant the application.’’ The judge ordered the CNPP officials to file their documents and serve the parties concerned. He, thereafter, adjourned hearing in the matter till Thursday, 26 March, 2009. @Know Now your glaring ignorance is going Olympic. It is not a matter of dying with the king, rather, let the truth be told for the benefit of the unborn generation. Our history cannot be swept under the carpet, because your likes has missed the bus to basic facts of history. Out of pity for your ignoramus tendencies, let me avail you some books you should busy yourself reading to take you out of the deep well of ignorance you have decided to bury yourself in. 1)Omotosho Kole - Just Before Dawn 2)Madiebo A. Alexander - The Nigerian Revolution and the Biafran War 3)Mainasara A.M - The Five Majors: Why we struck 4)Ojukwu Odumegwu Emeka - Because i am involved 5)Forsyth Frederick - The making of an African Legend; The Biafran Story 6)Muffet D.J.M - Let Truth Be Told: The coup d'Etat of 1966 7)Obasanjo Olusegun - Nzeogwu Okwudibia Nnoli - Ethnic Politics in Nigeria9)Ojukwu Odumegwu Emeka - Ahiara Declaration, Official Government Publication on Biafra Civil War 10)Achuzia J.O.G - Requiem Biafra I could go on and on, there are so many documented books by active participants during the course of the war and after the war. God be thanked for books. They are the voices of the distant and the dead, and make us heirs of the spiritual life of past ages, so my friend try and feed your empty soul with information via books and stop all this rants. |
@ poster Ol'boi, find work do abeg. How can you single out one out of over thirty lepers? They have dedicated their lives to run the country down at all means. Despite the economy meltdown worldwide, their energy has resurrected to further impoverish the poor masses. |
@ know You go on with this your coward thing as if you just learnt the word. All your jabberings about cowardice should be directed at your kith and kin. Ojukwu might have his fault, but to taint him a coward is unforgivable. |
My question now is why Lagos would be number 1 on the list of worst places to work in the world? There are worse countries that lack basic amenities, and many international companies operate here, is CNN saying that nothing works in Lagos? From what I take from their ranking Lagos is the worse city in the world. Presently, I reside and work in Lagos, and I can say confidently that life is relatively ok here, I spend just 10 minutes getting to work, although there is power problem but aside that, there is security, all the roads have security lights, the police patrol is efficient, crime rate is highly reduced compared to previous years. Transportation is not that bad, commuters still go to and fro work without much hassles especially with the new BRT transport that the governor has introduced that has its special lane. The popular Oshodi, notorious for robberies, a nest for hoodlums is now one of the most fascinating places to visit now, Eko city is another project that is aimed at relieving the housing problems of Lagosians. The rail project is still brewing and many more, Lagos is the fastest growing mega city in the world and the third biggest black city in the world. Kansas City was ranked the most the most insecure city in the world, Lagos did not make it on the list of 20 most violent cities in the world, so I wonder how it made it as number 1 on the list of worst places you can work in the world. But you would still find many foreigners working here, sapping the juice out without plans to leave; they are so comfortable, and easily accepted in the society. I feel this ranking is bias and baseless, you cannot compare the crime rate in other countries of the world to Lagos, and there has never been any case of school shooting as you have elsewhere. So how come? It is easy for them to slam the door on Nigeria, because of the bad record we hold, but never be deceived, the worse of the worse occurs in other big countries and sometimes they are not news. By Joseph Ekwu Need i say more? |
bawomolo:Even with all the fact stated so far you are still bent on straying into the desert of ignorance. You still can't grasp the simple fact that a race was been wiped out, and a Governor of the then Eastern region was saddled with millions of this race trooping in daily to avoid total annihiliation. He had no choice than to secede. The pressure came from all nooks and crannies of the Eastern region, to declare secession. After all, the war was declared no victor, no vanquish, therefore he reserve the right to contest any election in the country. |
The Nigeria Judiciary remains the only beacon of hope for the Nigeria masses. They have shown without fear or fervour their determined desire to rid the country of lawlessness and arrant individuals who before now think they could get away with virtually every undesirable actions. Imagine the effontery of the Navy in challenging the jurisdiction of the court in hearing a well established case. |
I'm tired of talking about this all the time. Gowon actually reneged on the Aburi conference deal. That actually caused the war. I mean there was a delibetrate attempt at annihilating the Igbo race, they were all swarming back to the east to avoid been killed in the other part of Nigeria. I mean the decision to actually go to war was not a one man show thing, like you guys are insuniating. The war was inevitable, then Gowon actually bumped a chance on peace at the Aburi conference. |
I applaud NL who deem it fit at every point in time to refreshen us with historical datas and basic fact as to events that took place in the 60's. The British particularly laid a time bomb after independence through a British borrowed parliamentry system of Government, which was designed and tailored by the british authority to trigger off at least provocation. The almagamation of the southern and northern Nigeria had brought two inconsistent socio cultural groups to form an entity called Nigeria. These incompatible groups had through their utterances and actions expressed an unwillingness to be together. But the design of the erstwhile colonial master was to sow a seed of discord in order to reap from the confusion that will ensue. Therefore, the foisting of an entity called Nigeria on these incompatible groups was for the purpose of economic and political interest of the British, which they intended to benefit from the spill of blood. It was to remove this unwelcomed threat that the British introduced the ''divide and rule'' system of governance for the country - the country was divided into three regions. |
Lagosboy:My brother, the actions of this men shaped and fashioned out what we are experiencing today. It simply cannot be ignored. The chaos created in the western part of Nigeria after the 1964 election paved way for the first military coup in Nigeria, it was the aftermath of the coup and the resultant killings thereafter that led to the civil war. The effect of the war is still apparent in Nigeria till date. |
Actions of Awolowo in the then Western House of Assembly marked the turning point in the political development in Nigeria. It introduced full fledged tribal politics of hate, bitterness and ethnicism. That singular action of his, eclipsed the political processes based on National isssues and the political development. |
Post reply ( Re: Finally Ait Gbenga Arulegba Focus Nigeria Invites Anenih, obj , Ibori Etc ) How does this topic have bearing with the reply so far? The poster led us to believe that Gbenga has already invited the above named individuals. This individuals can never heed such invitation, never. On a National TV? It can't happen. |
Going through the eko atlantic site, basically, this project from what i could deduce would be largely funded by the private sector. I think we should give this man a chance to really execute most of this project as highlighted so far. Political will is paramount in executing projects like this. |
This page is as empty as my head, I will fill it with the books I have read. When I was young I read everything that I could, From Robinson Crusoe on to Robin Hood. I read about Cowboys and the Last of the Mohicans, The Water Babies and Marc Twain the American. I went on to higher realms Shakespeare, Blake and Shelley. Sometimes I was so immersed that I quivered like jelly. Then I was introduced to the Bible New Testament and Old, I was so fascinated at all of the stories being told. Genesis the first chapter in the book told of the beginning. I read all of the stories my head was soon spinning. David the wisest King of all the Jews, Wrote the book of Psalms it was something new. Other books then came my way I read them all. History that told of the Roman’s rise and fall. Now I read Newspapers and very much verse, I take from my computer poems to rehearse. Occasionally I still read a book or two I am a man that likes reading, How about you? |
