Secret Spectat Jaguar program.... Nuclear missile attack.... Nuclear BOMB attack..... Secret NUCLEAR weapons purchase...... Nuclear weapons delivery by alpha jet..... And someone asked me why I love nairaland. |
These guys leave from somewhere and return to somewhere after every attack. These attacks on military positions have occurred too frequently for any right thinking planner of military operations not to have worked out an effective defensive, offensive or counter offensive plan by now. This is what someone is collecting salary to do but...... Nada!.... we wait for an attack, shoot back, wait for airforce jets, bomb them, they run away, we celebrate and....... Repeat cycle. |
That's how platinum was discovered in Niger state and has brought terrorists to the state. Zamfara gold Ondo gold Sokoto gold..... What's the common factor? Banditry. Nassarawa gold now. |

Toju200:This is an example of what I actually meant..... What i have in mind is a scenario where the air force is informed ahead of time of MAJOR military operations and the air force then dedicates surveillance platforms to cover and provide intelligence for the boots on ground. Attack Platforms can even soften up the enemy location minutes or one hour before the troops move in to mop up. When the enemy is in this kind of disarray from the air strikes, I don't think they can effectively mobilize for any ambush, attack or counter attack. This scenario IMO, should be for MAJOR operations. Soldiers on Patrols and in bases should have drone coverage (i am talking of these hand held mini drones not the CH 4 and WING LOONG variety). You can spot off-path ambushes this way plus they are cheaper platforms. We don't play with them at their level, we up the game and beat them on our terms. Tell me that theres no tiny bit of improvement in this post over what we have now. |
iblawi:I don't blame the army o. If the police were effectively doing their jobs ab initio, their jobs wouldn't be taken from them. Like the case of your car, its true.. I have experienced such but.... You see police ba? The rot starts from them...those above and below. Also, to successfully do the security job, you need the support and trust of the people..... Has the NPF earned this over years? No. As for training, I agree with you 1 million percent. Funding? The police system is a dog-eat-dog world. The way the top heads embezzle the little funds they get, you will know the fate of any extra funds they get ......e.g. The fate of the about 120 billion private individuals pay annually to the police for special private protection (You know that's why the top men there are reluctant to withdraw their boys from VIP protection duties because na their pocket money).. Thats enough for a one time investment in the infrastructure and system of the npf training colleges to upgrade them and their curriculum massively. This money is not even acknowledged not to talk of being reinvested in the system. Overseas training courses are sold to the highest bidders, deployment to 'juicy' states are also sold, allowances for peace keepers are embezzled. Bro.... The police is the source of the police problems. If your bosses treat you like trash, dont blame others for treating you the same way because.....The way you keep face, na so pesin go take slap you.... I SWEAR THEIR FACE DEY POSITION FOR PERMANENT SLAP. |
iblawi:You have valid points here but...... Don't you think a decentralized police force(I know state police has disadvantages but it still has lots of VALID advantages too) would reduce the handicap of the NPF? Secondly, is the NPF really doing their job or are the more interested in bribe collection and VIP protection? Is the situation where the army responds to armed robbery, kidnapping, BOKO HARAM, drug smuggling...even VIP protection acceptable? Are customs, immigration, NDLEA. civil defence etc actually doing their jobs to the best of their capabilities? I don't think so. We are having a problem of low manpower but..... Let those with jobs do the jobs they are being paid to do properly first....... Then we talk of their equipment, condition of service, political interference then decentralize the NPF before we look at employing more people. My humble opinion sha. |
tutudesz:Na wetin dey vex me pass be that. Nigeria is spending like we are at peace. You spend PLENTY money training men and women to be part of your SPECIAL FORCES and make little or no provisions for things as basic as protected vehicles for them. Let's assume other things are ROCKET SCIENCE..... Haba!!! |
kabe1:Meanwhile, we are ordering a total of 11 fire support vehicles(artillery & howitzers) 3 MRAPs 8 Drones 5 Light armoured vehicles 5 Boats 15 Planes 18(or is it 7 helicopters (its not too clear) 8 APCs 2 marine patrol planes And...... 700 Missiles for the 33(or 22) planes and helicopters we are expecting. Unless we have a VERY LARGE stock of said missiles, this if VERY POOR. Unless we have perfected our missile technology and Considering we already have lots of platforms on ground, CLOSE AIR SUPPORT is a mirage this year. And when I say we can do more, I was told that the operation on ground is more than enough. We dey here...... We go see the end |
bidexiii:Me too see am o! The purchases are piecemeal and if the much anticipated massive onslaught against boko haram/ISWAP and the inevitable accompanying loss of platform, what we'll be doing is(to a large extent), replacing the (anticipated) loss of platforms (GOD FORBID SHA). Like I said pages earlier, this isn't good enough. More can still be done. |
jpphilips:Hahahahahahahahaha guy fear God na |
Raeblack:Don't tell me that dude is eating a snake raw in the first picture. |
post=99870165:This airport was presented as a partnership between the state government, orient petroleum and elite international resources. So far, most of the spending/investment is on the head of the Anambra state government. What are these guys bringer to the table. From the look of things, the airport won't meet the EASTER target previously announced. I was really looking forward to using it by then. |
JOSCOFELIX:I know NAF does assist time to time. You can spot off-path ambushes this way plus they are cheaper platforms. |
kenpaul0:Unfortunately, Eeben is neither the final nor ONLY solution. Let's start with working on the top of our own military brass and strategy. There are questions over the collaboration between the NA and NAF IMO. e.g When carrying out such major operations, apart from massive aerial surveillance, the target should be firstly softened up by massive bombings or artillery strikes before ground forces move in to mop up. You don't attack an entrenched position without softening up or you just make your men cannon fodder.... One example. |
JOSCOFELIX:MAY THEIR SOULS REST IN PEACE. In all these horrid stories, I am yet to see mention of ground advance under aerial cover(both surveillance and attack) from NAF(or did I miss it?). |
And when people ask for more decisive action, they are referred to ONE operation as the final solution. |
Toju200:If you feel OPERATION TURA TAKAIBANGO is the best the military can do and its unreasonable for anyone to ask for more, then you are right. I DEY FIND WETIN NO LOSS. Good luck. |
Toju200:And if you read what i wrote without ANY BIAS, you will know that i am asking for more action after acknowledging the one they are doing. |
Whyem15:Its a war and I don't expect the enemy to do what I what I expect neither would i be expected to do what they expect. Keeping the enemy on the back foot is not a bad idea in war is it? |
A journalist typed PAUSITY instead of PAUCITY and his editors allowed it to go to print? Na was oh. Back to the matter...... 1 MILLION COWS IN GOMBE STATE? I smell lies!! |
Non indigene list wey no reach 350k no much nah. Sha, that's the average for that part of Anambra state. I paid around that amount for the traditional marriage rites. Its when you add all those iku aka ima uno etc that you might hit 500k. But those are expected to be done months before the d-day unless you have big balls of money. |
Toju200:He(and me too) are following up but..... Won't you be happier to hear and read more of headlines like.... "TROOPS OF OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE RAIDED/ATTACKED/DISLODGED A BOKO HARAM CAMP......." and less of..... "TROOPS OF OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE REPELLED A BOKO HARAM ATTACK OF 666 BATALLION IN PARIS,KILLING 200 AND RECOVERING AMMUNITION". I am the first to admit that we are making lots of progress in the fronts but.... Theres a different level of joy when we are the ones that take the battles to them which we don't do as often as some of us would like.... Las las .... Who my opinion epp? |
SamuelAnyawu:Moved out? But We were told here that they were escorting fleeing civilians. Seriously sha, if true, this unauthorized withdrawal by troops(no matter who you are angry at) smacks of lack of discipline and to an extent, insubordination. I won't pity any of them that are heavily dealt with by a court martial or military panel. |
kikuyu1:So, your problem is..... He is Igbo? |
mysticwarrior:Things like operational cost, functionality in a COIN operation and maintenance cost are some of the factors. |
EricBraven:Hahahahahahahahaha! Yeah right Escort indeed |
Whyem15:The drones don't even have to be armed. There are relatively cheap, unarmed, long endurance drones that provide good situational awareness to patrolling troops. A lot of these things come cheaper than the cost of training, equipping and kitting one soldier..... Not to talk of the value of his life. These young men are just being wasted for NOTHING |
Naija no just wan funny this week..... Another one in Katsina. https://dailytrust.com/many-soldiers-feared-killed-as-bandits-attack-military-outpost-in-katsina |
The writer said IMOlites condemned the decision. As far as I know, that's a LIE. I saw and heard a lot of appreciation when the estate was seized and even more when he was arrested. |
bidexiii:Those bastards have just successfully rearmed themselves....... Or made us destroy our equipment. This raises the question of an army air wing.... Even if its just for air support roles like this while the air force handles air interdiction missions. This is sooo annoying |
Quick question ; Are the military installations in MARTE and DIKWA super camps? Its scary how they were comfortably attacked in the midst of a military offensive. Marte own dey vex pass. |
