iblawi: Haha but the guy made a point na.
The bike would be used to chase criminal in areas not motorable and would mostly move at slower speed. So drag is irrelevant.
No need for insult please. They can only chase down criminals on foot or bicycles or keke. Criminals on bikes with similar capacity without there modifications will outrun these bikes anytime, anyday. To be fair to the army, i believe its a prototype(or concept)still being tested and with time, the.flaws will be worked out but..... Like its being pointed out here..... This motorcycle modification isn't okay at all. A fact I feel they should know by now |

GeneralFarouq: Jury judge Executioner. It amazing how u guys are willing to kill even those who surrendered... Mind u not all those captured may be bandits. Some may actually be low life criminals or innocents just at the wrong place at the wrong time. And this is more likely having regard to shut down of neteork communication accross the state. So it necessary for the sake of justice does unfortunate group of persons are given chance to protest their conviction... If it happened to ESN camps am sure some pple will come claiming some go buy bread and we're rounded up as IPOB[ Overall the military are atleast reasonable. That wan concern you. Innocent person?low life criminal? Wrong place at wrong time? Justice?fault of shutting down communication network? Haba! Even VOLTRON didn't defend the universe this well. |

RiceProducers: Elevated shooters don't change c. g because the bike is also weighted at the lower front by the ballistic protection of the rider.
This other stuff about drag is irrelevant. The speeds we are talking about are too low for drag to be a design consideration. Drag is not a design consideration for tricycles for instance. So, in your book, the center of gravity is just about weight (and if for some weird reason it is, the ballistic protection weighs as much as a full grown man)? Well, if high speed isnt a consideration for bikes in a combat zone for you, I concede to your high intellect. No be engineering class be this sha. I drop my pen. |

RiceProducers: Won't work how?. You need to know the use case first. The motorcycles are not fighting platforms. They are silent engine 2-wheelers for recce and assault. Using them in the field might involve frequent stops for observation with field glasses or NV scopes. They are ideally for minimizing effect of ambushes and IEDs on the platoon.
I don't think the men shoot in the mounted position on the bikes Physics101 the ballistic protection in front will sooo produce drag on the motorcycle that it will be impossible to go at full throttle. The elevated shooters seat will change the bikes center of gravity and there's obviously no measures to counter this. Let's look at a scenario where the bike has to high tail from a dangerous situation. How do you think it will handle at turns with this changed center of gravity. The intention is good oooo but..... The product is lacking. |

1.Sim was inserted in a different device. 2. They then used the USSD to check the account number(because the loan has to be paid into an account number) 3. They applied for the loan and cashed out from POS locations.
My recommendations. 1. SIM PIN. With this, the SIM can't be used even if its inserted in another phone. 2. Block USSD transactions from your account or have another account(a backup) where you transfer money into when you want to do USSD transactions. 3. Keep your main ATM card at home always. Have another one where you transfer just enough cash to cover your basic necessities and something for emergencies. Even if they steal this one, money no plenty inside. 4. Instead of sitting down "SHOCKED" when robbed, run around and look for someone's phone to borrow , call customer care or use your banks USSD code to block your account. 5. It will cause stress but..... You can go to your bank and officially write to them to block some online transactions (like this loan thing). If you need a loan in future, its you that will walk to the bank. To avoid stories that touch
Sorry for the loss. |

Whyem15: The bandits are kidnapping huge numbers of people as they are running from the military onslaught to use as human shields especially against airstrikes. How will the military cope with this? The hostages will definitely slow the bandits down but will also grant them protection. One of the downsides of shutting down communication networks in the state. Villagers could have used it to pass info on enemy movement and location. It could also be used to send relocation notices to recognized village heads to move their townsmen out of the general area of fighting. Yes, the informants can use it to pass info to the terrorists but.... The military can also use it to pass and receive info to and from the civilian populace as well. This human shield and the ensuing rescue operation just complicates an otherwise, straightforward operation. |

bidexiii: This are NA ‘Combat unit, Fighting with motorcycle’. A recently re-modelled version of locally available civilian motorcycles which can be armed with an AK-47 or a light machine gun. It carries two soldiers and was designed to support hot-pursuit operations against criminals in the North West/central.
I know someone folks here will come for my head for posting this ... Imagine how the gunner would feel when he is shooting at full auto mode... At high speed... On an untarred bumpy road...under the rain..... And having to shoot (at say...a 60 degree depression) Then also imagine what the ears of the rider would be passing through with the gun firing that close to his ears(protection might reduce the noise but also prevents you from hearing your team mate). Whoever designed this should be airdropped naked into one of those bandit camps. |

Covert1: Have to spare precious time...for this retort. This attitude and exactly the body language of your Buhari is what has become our headache
Listen the intelligence community here don't eat our own except of course till this present dispensation but have they the salafists gotten anywhere with there shenanigans, no! Rather they will find themselves naked without power and helpless if they dare.
How dare you...listen even the mad man on the street know there are salafist sympathizers in this Bubu government. We have never shied away but now to come out and say it like it is you think is some sort of joke.
What do you take us for, you think this is some sort of habadashri business or your archaic police beat of kobo kobo. You think the intelligence community throw out half baked nonentities into the system. Get off your high horse and listen all over again to the fine gentleman without bias and some patriotism.
Propaganda my foot. Are you serious. Please tell me you are not a police officer. How low in intellect can you go to suit primordial sentiments. You see why the police is not respected in any way in Nigeria. It's a shame to castigate the sacrifices of an intelligence military officer because you hate his positions on national issues which by the way are hard facts at risk of life and limb.
This country has never been so divided and that is a fact. The escalation of our internal crisis can be traced straight back to Aso Villa where the ascetic Buhari for whatever reason acts ignorant of intelligence estimates and briefings he receives but kowtows to people who think their ideology should be the law of the land creating more fires than the army can put out at any one time. Hey wake up and smell the coffee. The time for this nonsense has passed.
And stop waiting for evidence when your very Bubu is the very person with authority to do something about it but refuses to do so. Having said that not all though agree what the ramifications of that exposure will be but the problem here is Nigeria is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society and if you go after characters in the south then your body language at least should also reflect likewise in the north and that is not the case.
Foreign intelligence agencies already report now this Bubu government to their home governments as an Islamist northern government. That's a shame in 21st century Nigeria that has had in the past Fulani leaders. WOW!!!! WOW!!!WOW!!!! Standing OVATION SIR!!! I have disagreed with your views on a lot of issues but....... On this, you hit out GUNS BLAZING. |

BlackBaron: I do not understand why Buhari should NOT be blamed? In times of win/achievements, it is not Shehu Shagari that would claim the spoils.
The Nigerian Armed Forces has a culture of apathy and dysfunction. Over time, this behaviour has been learnt, adopted, increasingly internalised, and passed down generations to the present state of affairs. Essentially, the current crop of defence Chiefs are a product of that system.
Rt Gen Buhari rode to power on the wave of solving increasing levels of insecurity and was one of the major critics of the previous administration with a promise to ‘lead from the front’.
Just like a FTSE 500 company would elect/select a leader to turn around their fortunes or steady a rocking ship by identifying areas of weakness. In that time, lack of elements of leadership have been GLARING with Buhari.
All previous failings should have been enough to provoke a defence review and innovative adjustments applied. Human components, updated leadership training for officers, adopt best practices, revamp army culture, recommendations to plug operational gaps, intelligence gatherings, and so on.
Instead, we are still playing from the same old military era rulebook, buy new equipment and think we can build a successful army when we haven’t addressed the human factor.
Let’s not get too hung up on this thread too, but read through the indices, study the dynamics of what NA failures is doing to communities.
IDP camps springing up in Northern states, food famine due to deserted farms, migration from the North, already impoverished families selling up lands to richer folks to be able to pay ransoms. Who should take the blame for this otherwise? YOU MADE TOO MUCH SENSE HERE. THREE GBOSA FOR YOU!!! |
