Politics / Re: Bicycle Vs Other Means Of Land Transportation! by member67023: 2:03pm On Jan 03, 2012 |
Bicycles? At your own risk. 1. Will bicycle survive rainy season? 2. If there are 100 bicycles in a packing lot, how will you identify your own. 3. Any guarantee on the bicycle security locks, to avoid it being stolen or snatched at gun-point. 4. Are there enough bicycle repairers in Nigeria? |

The average Nigerian must survive. Get ready for amazing inventions that will overcome this ugly situation. I trust those Aba and Nnewi folks. Overall, cost-cutting measures will be the order of the day. |

Hypocrites that are afraid to die. In some parts of Middle East & Asia, christians are being persecuted daily and here in Nigeria, a pastor is cancelling worship service in Lagos because of boko haram in the North. O men of little faith. |

Family / Re: Have You Ever Lost Your Wallet? How Did You Feel? by member67023: 8:00am On Dec 20, 2011 |
I once lost my wallet, phone and keys at different times due to my carelessness. And I learnt never to loose consciousness of any of them as long as I am awake. I also constantly take these precautions: 1. Always carry only necessary required items in the wallet. So if it gets lost you dont lose all. 2. Always have a back-up of information e.g phone numbers, email addresses etc. stored somewhere else 3. Always have spare keys kept somewhere I can reach them in case I lose the original copy. 4. Finally, beware of pick pockets. |
Travel / Re: Transiting In Doha by member67023: 10:00pm On Nov 29, 2011 |
transit passenger management is crap. The airport needs to wake up and deal with the crowd transiting with their qatar airways. I was not impressed at all. They should learn from emirates. |
Travel / Re: E-passport Seized At Lagos Int'l Airport Due To Chip Damage by member67023: 9:59pm On Nov 24, 2011 |
toppycateg:@ toppycateg, I don't have any immigration contact. I was there because my passport was seized at the airport due to chip damage. You can read my story above. They only re-issue specifically for those that are in this category. All other re-issues probably have to go to Abuja. You can call Abuja help desk (09-6706896) for more information regarding your situation. |
Travel / Re: E-passport Seized At Lagos Int'l Airport Due To Chip Damage by member67023: 9:55pm On Nov 23, 2011 |
nakedwire:Back to the topic. I was at Alagbon last week and was lucky to be told that I can be re-issued a new e-passport there in lagos instead of going to Abuja. So I paid some cash, scanned/snapped/fingerprints et al. I was told to come back the next day. The next day, i picked both the old passport (stamped 'cancelled without prejudice') and the new one. It was 2 days of stress and anxiety (as I dont live in Lagos) but it could have been worse. This situation can really be painful. I met someone who was traveling out. His e-passport had the damaged chip problem, he automatically missed his flight with a lot of other negative consequences. |

Travel / E-passport Seized At Lagos Int'l Airport Due To Chip Damage by member67023: 5:39pm On Nov 08, 2011 |
Last week I arrived Lagos int'l airport and during the Immigration check they noticed that my face and fingerprints were not showing on their scanner. That meant the chip on the passport has been damaged. Looking closer, they showed me the cause - staple pinholes on the cover page. There where a bunch of other people with the same problem. They seized our passport. We had to fill a form and was told to come back next week to Immigration Alagbon office to be issued a new passport. Has anyone experienced this and later re-issued a new passport? If you are reading this and you have an e-passport, please be careful so this does not happen to you. |
