sukkot: its an interesting perspective but its not correct. this is all about CRIME AND PUNISHMENT. you are supposed to become a better person. thats the intention. you are passing through the fire and each time you are supposed to get refined. through your several reincarnations you are supposed to be perfected. if you fall short and you do evil there is karma to pay. ultimately ? treat others how you will like to be treated and love your brother like yourself. do not steal, sleep with another mans wife, cheat, etc etc and all the evil that men do because there is karma to pay at the end of every evil. thats the whole mission. to make yourself a perfect being. @bolded, that is the Aim, the last stop, but "intention" is the path we take to be that better person, soul, being or attain that Perfect Being. Karma fits in perfectly with this. Hitler may have been the reincarnation of a person to experience Life with a to-do list to mastermind and annihilate a people, because of the value points such an experience will add to him and to Beingness, thereby giving others an appportunity to tick off their to-do list of experiences adding to Beingness. In a sense affording a furnace of experience to refine the gold of Being. Meditate on it. |

sukkot: they are kids to you but the spirit in those kids is tens of thousands of years old. we humans are not our flesh, our flesh is a vehicle. we are spirit beings. so what you see as a kid may be a very wicked man in past life who killed many people. and his judgement was saved for this lifetime. the ways of YAH are too great for many to understand. even that new born baby born today is a very wicked soul. you dont know if that was hitler in past life. point being life is wayyyyyyyy deeper than you think it is and the age of the physical body is just an illusion that the carnal hinge their opinion on. me ? i dont look at the age of the physical body. its just flesh. a vehicle. Hhhhhmmmmm I understand what you are trying to say. Another way to look at this is through the concept that to have an "Experience" is why we (re)incarnated, that we made and bring along a "to do list" of experiences that we intend to get and the Universe will put together series of events that will afford us the best opportunity to have those experiences in Life. |

Gwaihir: Even as close as David was to God's heart, God refused him to build a temple for him. Why? Becauae his hands had spilled blood.
Now to the man who built this church who the attackers came for, what sort of man do you think he is? Did God tell him to build a church for him? And did God tell you His presence is in that church?
Everyman is responsible in seeking God out, not all churches are for God, not all men of God belong to God. Answering the bolded is why people choose not to go to church. I guess the 150 persons that reportedly died just discovered the answer to that question. |

Mr jelani, u know yourself better dou, i wish u all d best I know you are entitled to your pessimistic opinion, but I guess you read where Aliyu said let ’s look at new technologies that we can adapt for Nigeria , with the ultimate goal of providing cost -effective vehicles for the people”, meaning there is probably a design concept in the works to that end, so that you wouldn't necessarily need to be a millionaire to own a new car. |

Rapmoney: Some nice tips you have posted but I want to let you know that the point you made about using ATM machine is flawed!!!
The distance of the bank should matter. For instance, I use Access Bank which is some kilometres from my house and about 200 Naira from my house, using public transport. Ecobank and Zenith Bank are very close to my house. I use my Access ATM card mostly on Ecobank and Zenith Bank machines to save cost of fuel or transportation. Using Ecobank or Zenith will cost me only 65 Naira.
We shouldn't be penny wise and pound foolish. I was wondering why he didn't consider that. Most times, Spending money is all about opportunity cost. |

You haven't been to a farm before nor have any interaction with farmers and farming in Nigeria I can see. Look at the pyramid in question, the bags are well packaged it is not like a produce just harvested on farm. But then, whether it is processed or unprocessed, stacking them in open field is not best practice. And you failed to answer, what if it rains? |

fkj950ax: This is still done everywhere in the world. Warehousing usually happens when the next level of grain or produce processing commences. These farmers want to sell off and won't have added cost of warehousing and transportation inclusive. That is not true. Look at the pyramid, does the bags look like it contain unprocessed produce? Warehouse is where products/produce are kept before been moved into the market. A company that produces a pyramid of rice and uses open field as storage facility is joking, unless it is a PR stunt. What if it rains? |

Christianity Etc › Train Up A Child by menxer(op): 9:26pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
How true is the above quote?
Does it apply to a case where a child is born and raised/trained as a pagan only to grow old and chooses to convert to Christianity?
Does it apply to a child born and raised/trained as a Christian only to grow old and chooses to be a pagan, Muslim, hindu, kabbalist, atheist,...?
Does it hold true for the child that was trained to be a doctor, geneticist, physicist, aeronautics engineer, etc but grows to become a petty trader?
Are we supposed to factor in the socio-economic climate the child grows to find itself in, since that was not considered in the quote?
Many a child was born in the backwaters of this world, where fishing or subsistence farming was the way of life, only to grow old, migrate to the city and beat a new path in life to success in business, politics, sports, entertainment, industry, academics.
Does such a child nullify the validity of the above quote by beating a new path in life different from that laid out by its parents?
The answer is 'yes' and 'no.'
Yes: If the child was trained to uphold a certain dogmatic belief system, profession/occupation, lifestyle.
No: If the child was trained to uphold prudence, justice, temperance, courage, charity.
But then, nothing is certain, except the uncertainty of the choices yet to be made. |
