Yes there is freewill. For you to open, read and/or comment on this thread is an exercise of freewill. And it ends there, because If you take a step into religion or church, I doubt. Let's try something... Jesus said, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." I guess those that claim to "believe" in Jesus did so using their freewill. Using your freewill, can you say the quoted verse is fulfilled in you? We have used our freewill to elevate the works Jesus did beyond what any other person can or should even attempt to do. How can one do greater works than Jesus when the exercise of freewill is more or less emasculated in today's churches? If you exercise your freewill and question some things you will be called an atheist. In the church, there is nothing like freewill but "conform-will." PS: Church as used here refers to any form of organized religion. |
Statsocial:there are exams that all the given options to a question are wrong, in which case we make "none of the above" the answer or leave it blank. @bolded, is why wars are fought, lives lost, and the reason for this thread by the OP. |
That guy is running on noot-steroid. ![]() Ps: @seun, I have seen too much of the attached, it's becoming a nuisance.

ivolt:The life I live is as a result of the choices I made, I understand that, so i don't seek for sympathy even if/when the reward is negative; because all in all, what matters is the experience |
Lubyna:Meaning any conduit outside religion that reaches God is illegitimate. Right? Now to your question, which was: I have noticed that most of the threads on this board are anti-christian threads that try to descredit Christianity and invalidate the existence of God. Why? I don't think that is entirely true. I believe those that do such are trying to make others (Christians in this case) to think outside the confines of religious doctrine and dogmatism, which itself is a valid view point. I for instance, if most of my comments are viewed from the conventional dogmatic Christian point of view would sound like .... Lets say somehow. I realized everyone wants to be right, but that shouldn't be the case because..... Lets take the atheist view point for instance. He believes in the Force. Absolutely he is right. For instance, Gravity is a Force. Does he worship Gravity? Of course not. Does Gravity demand anything from him so that he can step off a cliff without consequences? I doubt. Look at a bird, it jumps off a tree top without consequences, why? Because it understands and works with another Force: Levitation. Does that make Levitation good and Gravity evil? Of course not. It is the interplay of these two forces that enable us fly and land airplanes safely. Does that mean we don't have plane crashes every now and then? Does it mean pilots make "sacrifices" to appease the Force of Gravity or Levitation to fly an airplane safely? The answer maybe "yes," in the safety checks of the plane prior to flight, in line with the training they underwent. Would you board a rickety looking plane with smoking engines based on faith though the pilot is licensed? Would it be safe to say on board an airplane the pilot plays the role of the pastor in church, taking the people safely to a destination (end of service?) |
Lubyna:Hhhhhmmmmm Don't see it as hate (except that is your view point), because we are merely looking at or experiencing the same thing from differing perspective. A Christian looks at God and sees Yahweh A Muslim looks at God and sees Allah A Hindu looks at God and sees Vishnu An Atheist looks at God and sees Force Who amongst them is wrong? |
Certificates are just pieces of paper that are always filled away. Emphasis should be on character, peace, love/care, productivity, not a piece of paper nobody remembers after the wedding day; Because if one can't deliver on those the certificate counts for nothing. |
that question was addressed here: https://www.nairaland.com/1850383/nigeria-zip-postal-code-confusion
|
ndiko:that is because you were conditioned that way, to see certain actions or behavior as sin. who made it a sin to express ones affinity for sexual intimacy with more than one partner and why? sin is just a concept to keep us under control. |
she is saying the truth, though our societal conditioning won't let us see it that way. |
I watched that episode of myth buster that debunked the myth of cell phone causing fires at petrol stations. The myth busters proofed rather that more fires are started by static electricity resulting from contact between our clothes and the car seat. Thankfully, in Nigeria we don't have serve-yourself petrol stations needing the driver to work the fuel pump, thereby carrying the static electricity close to the fuel fumes. If only our people could be sensitized more about this than use of cell phones at petrol stations. |
Jackossky:Issorite! Let the fun continue. |
GavelSlam:You took the words from my mouth. The easiest way to manipulate Nigerians is to align your case on the side of religion. |
9jakohai:It's the same thing the gods that created man did, can you see the cycle repeat? |
Seun:For the first time, an official FYI thread is commented on. I guess a man only looks up when he is down. |
Sex with a minor, though against the law, is not always rape. |
thiruarasu2515:And what has this got to do with credit card and fraud? |
Jackossky:@Bolded, why then are you guys not happy when the igbos claim Lagos because they were born and brought up there? |
9jakohai:It's funny, some people that are congratulating him doesn't see where this will led yet they are very religious... All I can see is the movie "Transcendence" loading... |
OLAADEGBU:We are made to believe it's because of the covenant Abraham made with God, but in ancient Egyptian and Sumerian practices of that time, an heir must be born of a spouse who is a sister, half sister, or cousin. This most times creates hereditary tussle if the first born is from a spouse who is not a blood relation with her husband. Was the wife of Isaac not his cousin? What of the wives of Jacob? If it was the will of God for Ishmael to be banished from his father's house, why did God appear to and save Ishmael from dieing of thirst in the desert? |
hahahahahahahahahaha what is all these about? bride price? make that groom price. hello, welcome to gender equality. |
onatisi:i guess he was voted into the senate by the court. |
obataokenwa:how did you know the recall did not follow due process? since you said the governor is a failure, may be this recall will be his singular achievement. ![]() |
it depends, because i pee a lot if the weather is cold or i stay too long in an AC environment (whether i drink liquid or not), else i can pee like once or twice a whole day (if i don't drink liquid). |
sometimes when i read write-up like this i wonder why we are so preoccupied with the concept of "following God" or "seeking God" to the extent of losing sight and getting lost in the matrix, forgetting the axiom: "man know thyself." our journey in life is one of self discovery and mastery, yet we are comfortable talking about the mastery of Jesus and do nothing about ours. today everybody is expected to conform to church doctrines and practices yet forgets that the Jesus we claim to be followers of was not a conformist to the doctrines and teachings of his day. yes, there is nothing wrong leaving ones church in the pursuit of self discovery, not just to assuage the church going ego. if Jesus quoting Psalm 82 said, "Ye are gods," and in another place it is written "your body is the temple of god," what does that tell us? Have we come to know the god that we are, living in this temple of flesh or still grovelling in a church building? |
Why are we always responding with insults instead of facts? This man, whether he is right or not, is making claims based on facts available to him, why can't we refute his claims with facts also instead of insults? |
Sssssshhhhh! Don't mention lest bad Belle people get heart attack. |
Lifestone:That is the man I voted for. |
All those writing eulogies to their fathers here are wasting it except their fathers are on nairaland and knows their moniker. |
I thought smoking is fun and part of enjoying life that I am missing out? The way I see it, habitual smoking creates a path in the body, and as with all paths that are no longer in use, it takes time for nature to reclaim it, and even longer if the path was tarred (in this case with nicotine.) |
So some people go to church to connect to camera while others go to church to connect to God? |
The next thing you will hear is, "is it your child?" |
