Thank you very much. I think you're one of the very few accessing the situation from a different angle. A 21 storey building in Uyo is worth less than its equivalent in Lagos. Real estate in Lagos is hot cake compared to any other state cos Lagos is the centre of the nations economy. Let's forget the obvious sentiments and say the truth: that 21 storey building if built in Uyo would only be good for pictures of Uyo skyline without any real economic again.

I believe the govt has a cogent reason for building this liaison office despite the seemingly huge cost. Its could even be to save logistics costs of running state business that may take place in Lagos like hotel bills and renting of conference rooms and so on. I think we shouldn't be in a hurry to conclude until we hear from Udom.
@ bolded, I guess that explains why the Ibom airport, Ibom Tropicana, four point hotel, Uyo - Ikot Ekpene highway, Science Park, are either abandoned or uncompleted projects. And the Ibaka Deep sea port will forever be a pipe dream.

Udom then must be a very foolish type. He should listen to the people whose mandate and affairs he is managing. After all, he only has 2 more or 6 more years as gov and if the people say we don't need this house, what's the need building it?
In Akwa Ibom, we play politics of imposition.
Udom was imposed on the people and he is now imposing an unwanted and unnecessary project on the people.
I think it makes logical sense from that perspective. grin

I don't normally comment on post like this because of the hate being manifested here by the so called youth. Are the guys commenting on this topic youths at all? Do they go to school at all and pass exam?
I am yet to see anyone comment anything that shows intelligence. When Mr Charles Ogbu address Mr president speech, he does it intelligently, based on what he heared and is fact. Looking at it, without being biased, he is almost 100% correct. Can anyone imagine trump leaving the US for more than 100 days? When British wanna leave European union, did European union stop them?
I am not into politics, am not supporting anyone bt even if the country divide, are these the set of people that wanna move it forward? All i see is empty brains and bootlicker both the north, south, east and Central
It's just a pity there is no Article 50 in Nigeria for you to invoke, sorry.

Jesus is not the message but came with a message: if your eye be single, your whole body shall be filled with light.

Mis interpretation of the word of God
By who?
Christianity EtcThe Third Eye: The Pineal Gland by menxer(op):
All ancient religions talk about the light, enlightenment, spiritual awareness; they all talk about, point to, make reference to the third eye.

The pineal gland, is depicted in ancient literature, art and architecture as a pine cone, from whence it got its name. This is reflected in the pine cone on the head of the Buddha, the architecture of Angkor Wat, the pine cone staff of the Pope, the eye in the pyramid on the dollar bill, and the Egyptian eye of Horus, which bears a striking resemblance to the pineal gland physiology in humans.

The Bible talks about it, when Jesus said, "if thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be filled with light."
Certain spiritual practices and bodily exercises enhance the function of this gland, and by extension the mystical experiences it bestows.

The pineal gland is the the bridge that links science, religion, spirituality and mystical experiences.

According to science, the pineal gland produces DMT (dimethyltryptamine), a molecule that enables the brain to experience other states of reality and other dimensions of existence.

Traces of DMT is also found in plants and animals. It is found in potent concentration in certain plants and as secretion from a desert toad, which bestow the same mystical experiences when ingested, injected or smoked.

Imagine what a dose of DMT can do!
Imagine being able to experience what took mystics a lifetime to experience with just a dose of DMT!

The problem is, the third eye has been demonised by contemporary Christianity that terms anything mystical beyond its control as against the word of God and subjugated by contemporary society by the use of fluoride in our food and health industries.

How are we to see the light Jesus spoke about when the very organ to achieve that is blanketed, blinded and calcified with fluoride?

We consume copious amount of flouride everyday (in our toothpaste) to ensure we remain docile, blind and never get to truly see the Light.

"Let there be light.
The toad is happy."

I disagree with him. Nothing is a waste, everything, both success and failures are what shapes us and moves us closer to who we need to be.

His time in comedy definitely propelled him in some way to the person he is now. Who would have known him if it wasn't for comedy?
He just wants to be sensational, he should have said it took him ten years to hone his mentorship talent.

Five years from now, he may contest and win a political office, then the years of mentorship becomes a waste because he just discovered he was supposed to be a political leader all along.

I doubt anybody became a mentor at the age of one.

We are not shouting about data validity period because most people feel they can and do exhaust it within that 30 (or 33 on 9mobile) day validity period, but most times some data still get wiped off because of validity expiration.
PhonesRe: 5 Ways Social Media Giants Are Brain Hacking Humans by menxer: 8:53am On Aug 22, 2017
@phidelity

Hacking is not always negative, but making a device work in way it was not originally intended, with better performance.

For instance, running a custom ROM on a phone is hacking that phone, which voids the legal warranties but makes the phone perform better.

Brain hacking is tricking or getting your brain to perform better. This may mean doing certain things in a certain way.

Playing a maze game on social media is a brain hack as it gets your Brian to function better in a certain way.

Social media is a brain hack that makes you to see things in a certain way: you are hacking our brains to see social media as you present.

Highlight the good benefits of social media brain hack also, not just the negatives.

PoliticsRe: Pdp’s Understanding Of Restructuring Nigeria Shallow — APC by menxer: 11:14pm On Aug 21, 2017
Primebuilders:
I don't understand this APC guy. You dust up PDP 2014 conference of restructuring from the achieve for review and you claim PDP do not have restructuring on their agenda or if they have a shallow one, my question why looking into the 2014 confab report. Since you are the one that understand restructuring why not come up with your own version. APC mouth making party
There is a difference between APC as a party and APC led Federal Government, it is PDP led Federal Government that did the confab not PDP as a party.

The confab report is a federal government's document not party's document.

The point APC as a party is trying to make is that in its manifesto restructuring and devolution of power is succinctly captured unlike in the case of PDP manifesto, that the PDP led federal government even after conducting two national confab did nothing with the report.

This is not to deny that there are legitimate concerns. Every group has a grievance. But the beauty and attraction of a federation is that it allows different groups to air their grievances and work out a mode of co-existence.
The National Assembly and the National Council of State are the legitimate and appropriate bodies for national discourse.
That is the summary of it.
What PMB is simply saying is, No amount of e-warring or hate speeches will change the status of our unity as a nation if not discussed by the above mentioned bodies.

Hittites would lose their culture offcourse to the Isrealites. Cause and effect. See?

Identity is identity. Wherever you want to claim.
If we all keep marrying fron other places it would get to a point most of us wouldn't even know where we are from.
Hahahahahahahahaha a

At what point did we start identifying a people as Jews?
From Abraham, right?
Beyond Abraham what identity did his ancestors claim?

Abraham married his half sister, hinting at inbreeding, is that cultural value and means of identity still held today?

What do you have to say caused the complexion of the present day Jews to differ from that of their ancient ancestors of Sumer, if not intertribal marriage?

Do you know what you're saying at all. Cultural values changes? That's the biggest joke I've heard this year.
Farming methods and cultural values don't correlate.
Values are found in respect, traditions, language, uniqueness of the culture from others. What you stand for, what you're known for THOSE ARE YOUR VALUES. So as a Yoruba boy we postrate to greet elders that's one of our VALUES. How can you say that should change? You're still confirming my point that cultural values are lost EASILY with this intertribal thing
Besides what do you mean "how far i can trace that identity ?
The fact that you even mentioned "YORUBA" you've contracdicted yourself. That's where the identity belongs. That's what makes me unique, that's why I'm not IGBO.
So which identity do you claim in intertribal marriages?
I bet you understand what "for instance" means.

Identities are and can be claimed.
Let me explain.
In the bible, it's on record that David took Bathsheba (a hittite) as wife who gave birth to Solomon, is Solomon a Jew or a Hittite?

In Nigeria we claim our identity from our Father's tribe but in Ghana it is from the mother's tribe.

You are digressing. That's not my point.
What i mean by cultural preservation is THE VALUES OF A PEOPLE NOT THEIR TECHNOLOGY. Technology evolves.
.
BUT OUR VALUES NEVER CHANGES and if they are not passed down to the next generation they will become extinct.
Now you've not still answered the question of IDENTITY?
**modified**
I still don't see how technological advancement and change is caused by Intertribal marriages
@bolded, I never said it does. But you have to understand nothing exist in isolation, marriage is all about interaction, synthesis.

Going by your perspective, The best way to preserve our identity is by inbreeding, which is being frown upon in today's world.

I disagree, our cultural values changes as we do.
Take any cultural value and see how far back you can trace it without it changing.

For instance, There was a time our cultural value of wealth was built on the idea that you must be a farmer with great physical strength and ability to do farm work.
Has the cultural value of creating wealth by farming diminished in any way?
No.
Has method of farming remained the same?

Identity.
If you say you are Yoruba, for instance, how far back can you trace that identity?

What do you mean by the bolded?
Mingle? Where is the place of our identity.
Lalasticlala please is it possible to get more views on this?

You're not answering the question of identity?
Cultural preservation?
Intertribal marriages can NEVER stop inter ethnic clashes. They will continue to exist till we all die
There is nothing like cultural preservation (Except in the sense of historical artifacts), culture changes and evolves are we do.

If we had insisted on using clay tablets to write because that was our cultural way of writing, do you think you would be typing on that device right now? though the device is a Samsung "tablet" it is not a clay "tablet." meaning we have evolved from the culture of using clay tablets to Samsung tablets.
FamilyRe: Do You Think Intertribal Marriage Should Be Encouraged? by menxer: 9:38am On Aug 20, 2017
Yes. Don't forget inter tribal marriages were conducted to form and cement alliances and foster peace between warring tribes.

The idea was you won't go fighting and killing your in-laws, would you?

Secondly, to mingle and acquire good genetic traits.
For instance, if your tribe is not good in business marrying from a tribe that is known to be savvy in business will guarantee your descendants being business savvy.
RomanceRe: Should I Marry Two Wife? by menxer: 9:19am On Aug 20, 2017
Guy, to be honest, if you are ready, feel, think and you know the second wife will add an iota of value to you, the experience will be yours, Let no man deter you.

Any man that wants to experience life with one woman in marriage is his choice, and should not deter he who wants to experience same with two women.

Just that society wants to define and impose its perpective of marriage on all, which shouldn't be, in as much as the parties involved are adults and consented to having that experience nothing should stop them.
