Christianity EtcRe: See What Pastor Kumuyi Preached This Morning That Surprised Many. by menxer: 5:09am On Aug 29, 2016
newbornmacho:
You are right but I don't see how these negate my point.
Not all that call me lord shall enter..... But none shall enter without confessing him as Lord.
Preaching doesn't mean you are predestined but the predestined shall preach.

The Bible is clear on predestination being a divine prerogative in salvation.
Are you not Chasing your tail?

You are predestined as A, but chooses to live as and wants to be B, how does that add up?

You are afraid of where the doctrine of predestination would leave you as no one knows who is predestined.

In the light of this, It affirms my belief that that "destination" is by invitation only, and you can't invite yourself.
Christianity EtcRe: See What Pastor Kumuyi Preached This Morning That Surprised Many. by menxer: 3:26am On Aug 29, 2016
newbornmacho:
The answer to your first question is a resounding yes. Only the predestined can be saved.
However the second point doesn't necessarily follow. You see, real evangelism is programmed into the believer much like predestination itself. You don't have an option, if you are a believer you will evangelize: Paul said he preaches the gospel not necessarily as a choice but as it were under divine impulsion. The prophet Jeremiah said even when he determined to refrain from preaching and closed his mouth, the word was like fire in his bones and he had to speak! So whether we like it or not we find ourselves responding to inner grace and preaching. So we don't preach bc we want to save the world, but because it is a part of our lives and nature.
If you answer yes to the first question, the second point is inconsequential.

Those that are predestined, is not written on their forehead for one to know, nor is it by believing.

Having a burning desire to preach does not mean you are predestined, for "not all that called me Lord shall enter..."

You quoted the Bible copiously without showing where it condemns the doctrine in question . Firstly you need to know that salvation is a work commenced even before the saved person is born . 'Those whom he foreknew them he predestined to be conformed to the image of his son ' romans 8 ; the eternal foreknowledge of God initiates the Salvation process. Thereafter a chain of events follows: ' those whom he predestined them he called, those whom he called them he justified, those whom he justified them he glorified' still reading from Romans 8. This scripture among many describes a process outside the immediate control of the individual. Just like he didn't initiate it so also he can't terminate it. It's a chain reaction by which the mercy of God essentially railroads the elect into his saving grace. Even when human effort is required it is still operated within the architecture of the working of God : work out your own salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. ' Philippians 2.
Furthermore our Lord Jesus Christ himself said ye have not chosen me but I have chosen you... And again those who the father has given me no one can take out of my hands...
Essentially it is not of him that willeth or of him that runneth but of God that sheeeth mercy. Roman's 9
Is it not an exercise in futility working out ones salvation when one was not "predestined to be conformed to the image of his son?"

It makes nonsense of the evangelizing the world concept, as it amounts to trying to undo what God has predestined.
Christianity EtcRe: See What Pastor Kumuyi Preached This Morning That Surprised Many. by menxer:

What is wrong with it is that to believe that is heretic. One who has been saved (which is the new birth that come by grace through faith as in Romans 10 : 9-10) is expected to live in newness of life (as written in Philipians 2:12 and Luke 9:23-24). When you receive the new birth and don't live in righteousness, you will lose your salvation. Hence, the Bible says we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling. A Believer is saved, being saved and will be saved. The first salvation (new birth) is deliverance from the PENALTY of sin, the second (new life in Christ) which is a daily salvation is deliverance from the POWER of sin and the last (new hope) is deliverance from the PRESENCE of sin.
If u read Romans 5:9-10, you will discover that there is a promise that those who has been reconciled with God SHALL be saved by His life. Also read 2 Timothy 2:10. This is talking about the when Jesus shall come to save us from the world/presence of sin.
A lot of Christian take the massage of God's grace as a license for sin. They believe that God will always forgive them and they go ahead to willfully sin. The Bible has told us that we should eat with BRETHREN (not unbelievers ooo) that commit fornication Titus 2:11-13 has explained that grace hates sin and ungodliness.
Is your God that fickle to have stages of saving grace?

What was Jesus' position on this?
And what is the Holy Spirit's position on this?

The parable of the prodigal son sums our relationship with God: always find your way back home no matter the mess you put or find yourself in, out there.

We should stop belittling God by clothing him with human tendencies to hold grudges.

Christianity EtcRe: If God Created The Sun On The 4th Day,how Did 3 Days Come To Pass? by menxer: 1:13am On Aug 29, 2016
The problem is not with God but those who copied and edited that story from the original material to create the Bible.

It is possible the editors were working with two source materials with slightly different creation days for light and in their bid to syncronize the two materials left that gap.

There sure is a mistake, light cannot be created twice on different days.

Those were parts bought from the international market and crudely put together by the Biafrans. If those parts were indeed made in Biafra what happened to the foundries that made the parts? Did anyone destroy any factory after the war?
I don't understand why people are lying to themselves.
Exactly my thoughts after seeing the pictures and the sophisticated designs, some were definitely made by cold presses, not just hand welding. What happened to that industrial complex?

There is no report the Nigerian army or Biafran army blew up any such facilities during or after the war.

Was it feasible to set up an armored tank manufacturing plant in less than 3 years with war going on?

Have a happy sunday.
Point of correction, you don't know me.

We all know Mal 3:9, differentiate between tithe and tax in context with the time it was written, can you do that for us?

While at it, do yourself a favour and read Deuteronomy 14:22-29, Leviticus 27:30-33, Numbers 18:21

All you saw was the title of the movie. Smh.

God instructed HIS people in malachi 3 vs 10...so, tithing is strictly for christians and those who believe in HIM.
Like seriously? God instructed christians in the old testament?

Paying tithe is like paying tax, it is to keep the system running, it has nothing to do with securing your fortune or future.

look for this movie 'Gods of Egypt' and watch.

A member of the HOR, Honourable Bede Eke Uchenna from Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, Imo State.

I think we need to be a little more enlightened in public discourses. Government is a continuum and not everything is about party or the President.

This bill is sponsored by by a PDP Rep after all.

The question should be, is it good or not?, not insulting personalities.
I never insulted anyone regarding this, I asked because knowing who sponsored the bill will better equip one to understand the trajectory of the bill.

You rightly asked, is this bill in our best collective interest?

The telecom sector that is praised as doing well and not affected much by the economic downturn is now targeted by this bill, have they thought out the consequences?

It's little relief knowing the bill is a PDP product.

There is a cure....it involves us spending more on fixing the lights, and fixing education, and ending corruption.

We have an opportunity....and the solution is not selling more things whose prices we cannot control.

The problem is....it is going to take a long time. Frankly speaking, I hope our government is interested in doing this.

We cannot rely on oil again.
I never said there is no cure, from the enlightened posts here, but "we" always see things through party and ethnic lenses.

I agree with you, how do you think it can be done without some group crying "persecution" in the fight against corruption?

That is why I said thinking of a long lasting solution without overbearing personal, party or tribal interest won't be easy.

Think about Dutch disease as being dependence on exporting raw materials(Not just oil by the way) whose prices are controlled elsewhere , and using the revenue from the exports to import stuff we are already making at home.

Add the fact that Nigeria's industrial sector is not innovative enough....we do not have the tools to compete with the imports because we have an educations system that produces clerks, not thinkers....and you have an economy that cannot export things whose prices we can set....and is dependent on the rise and fall of our raw materials whose prices we do not control

Dutch disease.
So technically, it is not the economy that is diseased but the people, because economy does not think but people do.

It is like "we" are paralyzed by the mere thought of a cure for the Dutch disease.

Some enlightened posts in the house today, but then Nigeria is a place where principles and practices that worked elsewhere don't fly.

How do one explain a situation where Nigeria is suffering from Dutch disease but non oil export was booming?

As someone above pointed out, majority of us are averse to "thinking" out a solution especially when we stand to gain nothing (personally) in the short, medium or long term.
Christianity EtcRe: The Birth Of Christianity From Pagan Knowledge by menxer: 6:53am On Aug 27, 2016
Believing what your MOG says is better and more convenient than searching for the true meaning of the scripture.

Christianity is replete with so called pagan symbols yet most Christians don't even know or care about its true meaning or origin.

As Jesus said, it's only those that seek to know the truth behind the symbols will find the answers.

Christianity EtcRe: What Happened To The Ark Of The Covenant? by menxer: 4:10pm On Aug 25, 2016
I read somewhere that the content of the Ark was the reason the Israelites were pursued by the Egyptian army, not to bring them back to slavery but to retrieve that "object", which was the reason for the Egyptian prosperity and civilization.

It went on to say that the "object" was the power source that powered the pyramids for the purposes it was built for.

It is said the "Gods" themselves created the "object" from materials brought from "heaven".

I take it was an object used to create a Stargate.

I guess the original owners of the "object" took it back rendering the Ark empty artifact.

Hahaha hahaha
I know someone is coming for my head.

We will always find what to blame for our short comings, a greedy person is a greedy person not because of MMM.

MMM can't take over your life that had a pattern, a style, it can only complement.

Every thing should be done with moderation, there is a disclaimer on MMM site to use only spare money, which cannot or should not impact negatively on other responsibilities.

I believe MMM encourages a kind of savings mentality when you think of and get 30% at the end of the day.

I know in Nigeria anything that does not involve hardship, whipping up our negative emotions cannot be a good thing.
