This is really an interesting read Mr Solo. I clearly see how thorough these guys are, and how clinical I've got to be as an applicant. Just as Oga Ferdi said " I'll be okay in just borrowing money in order to obtain a "Bank Balance" at this application stage, while I build my account". Hope you agree with that. Thanks.

Hello Oga Solo and Ferdi. With this apparent confusion on POF,I have become a bit uneasy with myself. My plan is to borrow money in order to get a "bank balance" which I will initially submitt with my application. Afterwards, I intend to put regulär funds in my account. Hope this is cool.

@Ferdi and damkollins is it cool to attach degree cert with transcrip request form for school to send to ECA so as to safe cost? And from experience which ECA body would you recommend? Thanks

It's better to send your certificate by yourself, as the ECA body may suspect foul play if it's sent together by the school. In addition, I used WES for my verification and it was a nice experience. Cheers.

Liss: I had this same situation when I tried paying for my WES fees. I also used my GTBank mastercard & got a bank balance showing two debits but one record of payment at WES..

I made a complain at the nearest GTBank & the customer service person explained that when doing foreign transactions, the bank holds an extra payment just in case you withdraw before the foreign transaction is concluded. In my case, my money was reversed as I didn't overdraw my account & I didn't have to write any letter of complaint to anyone.

Hope your own works out easily too.

This is another point of view. I actually experienced sth like this while paying for application fee to a Canadian school. It's just that my first payment attempt was successful but was debited twice. I didn't want to suggest this initially as he said he was not successful at the first attempt. He can wait till his WES account shows "paid" and see if GTB unblocks his account.

iykedare: Hi guys, i used my gtbank mastercard to pay for my WES. The first time i tried it, a message "error token session" came up. Had to go to d bank and they asked me to try to pay again. Tried it again. RIGHT NOW, THE MONEY HAVE BEEN DEDUCTED TWICE FROM MY ACCOUNT. Has anyone had similar incident like this? Can i get my money back? Money was deducted for d second time on Saturday.

Just Send a mail to WES. State your complain and they'll get back to you.

lol Oga Ferdimako. I love her too. You know she has to play her part too. My uncle arrived Canada in Märch 2012 and has been enjoying some benefits like housing. He said that CIC may not award me the points under adaptability because they live in a house provided by the government. They plan to move to their own house by early next year.

yes. I'll be having 71 points from my " designate wife". I don't know how express the express entry will be next year. So I just want to forge ahead with this and do the waiting game, which may reduce drastically.

My uncle left in 2012 and it took about 18 months to process and move. Someone told me that the process will be faster with the proposed launch of the Express Entry.
Keeping fingers crossed.

solomonwis: very very laughable...They seem to me to be making a mockery of the processing speed. But believe me,so many people especially the prospective applicants will be happy seeing this slow pace.

that's correct Solo. I see the update rate and keep encouraging myself. Perhaps, they are only updating complete applications. What do you think the number should be? 10,000 or completely filled up.

ferdimako: Some folks don't change any name...there are other ways to show there is a legal union as others have said. I'd like my wife to keep her names.

solomonwis: This will not affect the application in anyway.As a matter of fact,you are expected to make use of the name as written on her international passport. The determining factor here is the name on her international passport and not just her marriage certificate.

You can decide to change her international passport details (bearing her new names) prior to the conclusion of the processing of her application at a later date (and you can decide to do it now if you've got the time and money).

"BY THE TIME I GET MARRIED TO HER AT A REGISTRY, HER LAST NAME WILL CHANGE AND THIS WILL NOT CORRESPOND WITH WHAT IS IN HER INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT. What I'm I to do afterwards? Thanks.

solomonwis: Yes please...in the eye of CIC,this carry more weight( Please don't get me wrong....others must have included sworn affidavit and scaled the hurdle).Judging from recent rejection experience,I will always advise people to go for the NPC's birth authentication document.

When I first sent my documents, my status read ...Documents recieved- review in progress.

Later, the status changed to -waiting for verfication from institution (they sent me a mail to notify me of this).

I just checked today and the status now reads ...documents recieved- review in progress.(They didn't send me a mail)

What does this mean? Does it me they've gotten verification from my institution? Does it mean my evaluation is almost done?

This evaluation has taken so long. I've sent mail to ask for directives to use courier service to do the verification from institution and I haven't gotten any response

If you are sure that your institution has sent a reply back to WES, and your status changed to "review in progress", it means they are doing a final review after which, they'll post your verification to you. The final ECA report could be sent via UPS between 3-5 days. Quite frustrating but surely.

It is not anything too difficult once you are psychologically and spiritually prepared. When you get to Canada the burden will be light,two heads are better than one you know.

ANBAKO: House, Is it allowed to start filling a form electronically, print it out and later complete it (the same form) by hand (Writing with Pen)? This is in respect to forms like IMM5669E with the tiny spaces.

I think it is better to fill all forms using a computer.
Moreover, it is better to fill a form using one means ( electronic or hand ) at least for uniformity.

solomonwis: Of course applications received are much more than this. There are many unprocessed applications.

You need work experience, which is a very good source of marks. Also, you will be only getting 5 marks from Education section which is very very critical.

I think you can use the " documents checklist " to know who and who is to fill a form. Otherwise, you can always ask for the help of our gurus.

damkollins: It's quite acceptable to update your status after you must have passed the application stage.
Update of status to include marriage,new born baby,divorce,change of jobs and so on are acceptable.
The local visa office in Accra can always be contacted to update your status with necessary supporting documents as evidence of change.
Marriage status supporting documents will include legal marriage certificate document,update of generic form,update of background information forms and additional information forms,you will need to pay processing free charges of 550CAD for a new spouse or 150CAD for a new baby,passport photographs,biodata page,PCC and so on.
If you have plans for marriage in the coming months,this should not delay your application package submission now as you can always add them to your status later on as you progresses.

For question 1, your school is to send the transcript. When they send it, it will be received and your online account with WES will be updated. After WES has received your certificate , transcript and payment, they'll proceed with the evaluation. Usually, WES will send you two copies of the evaluation . So you can keep one and use the other for FSWP. WES will use a Courrier service to deliver it to your house.

damkollins: It's a decision left to you.I have seen a friend of mine demand for such service with half the amount for registration of the exam.....but at the end of the day,he had the same score and had to register for a new one to make it.You may not be able to win them in their own court as they will prove to you that their marking was right.
Personally,I will suggest that you register for a new one and aggregate all your indefatigable efforts into the writing section since your result suggest you are excellent in other sections.
Writing section seems the cheapest to me after speaking.....you just need to have the right secret in answering your question so that you won't answer off point.
I understand your pain but I'm sure you know that for you to be in this stage,you have given and invested enough so you need to forge ahead regardless of this setback.

technolee: Nothing like girlfriend here. Even if you have been with her for 10years. Your options now is to get married to her this month or submit your application and get married to her in between and notify your officer of the development. Finally, you can marry her after you earn yourself the PR and move her in. I hope I am on point @gurus?

solomonwis: What you need to scale the hurdle is 67 points. Even if you score 100 points,you are at no advantage over the person who score 67.

So,there is no need adding more to the points once you calculate your point well enough and you cross reference the calculation.
