Hello Damkollins.
Please what is the email address CIC normally uses to send PER notifications?
I want to add this email address to my valid email addresses so that it doesn't go to my Spam folder which I don't check often.
I've observed that most mails in my spam folder normally disappear even while I'm viewing it.
I just want to do this as a precautionary measure, in order to prevent losing or wrongly waiting for mail that might have arrived.
By the way, I am an Oct 14th applicant. So I'm hopeful to receive a +ve reply from CIC very soon.

Thanks and CHEERS grin

I'm forever thankful for the help you guys gave. I and my wife are doing fine. Honestly ehn!, I would have been in a deep mess if not for my wife.
And I wouldn't have been able to make that quick "will you marry me " question if not for guru Solowise,Ferdimako, Damkollins and others I can't really remember.
I'm grateful to you all as my marriage has brought me good job. One that pays me 3x my former. One which may have me thinking of permanently moving or just wifey.
Anyways, I'll keep the house posted while I wait for the PER.

The guy on that thread was a year my senior at OAU, he has 1st class BSc. Engineering Physics, Distinction MSc. Reservoir Engineering from Herriot Watt university. Works as a petroleum engineer with Chevron. Yet he was killed by armed robbers all because of a 2008 Toyota Highlander that 19years old kids are driving abroad with peace of mind.
You see, this is just one out of many in Nigeria.
That is why money is not everything in life. The guy who moved from GE by the way, said he only missed his 13th month salary he usually gets in Nigeria.

And to the other guy that mentioned Iraq. Why would I go to Iraq to get kidnapped by ISIS/ISIL cos of money that I can make elsewhere even if it's lower but with peace of mind.

Anyway, bye bye to financial services, I got my first engineering job(O&G) in 8 years and resuming on Monday.
Hi saxy.

The guy in Iraq has been working there since Sadam's time. For him, his family needs to be on a safe side while he works hard for the cash.
You say Iraq, I tell you, he is earning close to 1.55 times the amount his mates in ExxonMobil, Chevron or Total are earning, not to mention Shell.
He's got free accommodation and only feeds when he's off their facility. I.e. just say 12-14 days a month.
I'm not doubting whatever uou are saying, that's why I've always said "these are my observations and opinions".
I fully respect yours.

I hope that they know as they are in naija nd visiting Canada that within 5 yrs, they must accumulate Days that will add up to 3 yrs either by visiting or living for 3 years, if not they lose the PR
Their aim would have been achieved.
The aim which is very clear-Safeguarding the future of their kids. Besides, he can always visit.
In my opinion, its "more in favour" of those who don't have killer jobs in their country of origin.
Just my observation and opinion.
TravelRe: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by Meritl: 12:42am On Nov 23, 2014
ferdimako:
Forget that thing...it is mainly mouthwatering for strugglers...rich folks don't need other nationalities to get by.
Well, "I think" Ferdimako is not too wrong.
I have 2 guys who work I'm Chevron and Shell respectively. They moved their spouse there and came back to continue their work, because, they might not get a job that may pay as high as they've got now.
The Chevron guy moved three weeks ago.
A third guy I know, is a Nigerian in Iraq. The guy earns more than his contemporaries in Chevron and ExxonMobil. My "Broses" , the guy moved three days ago and plans to evaporate Canada when his leave is over due to his impressive job in Iraq. IRAQ O!!
My classmate got a job recently in a Nigerian school, just plans to settle his family there while he comes back because, he's got other "shows" to run here. He should be back soonest
So there are a lot of critical thinking in making decisions like this. E.g.
1. Most will move permanently if their financial/life standard is not up to par in their country of origin.
2. Most will just land with their families, settle them and leave almost immediately because the salaries earned in their country of origin will be OK to take care of their families and avoid been a middle-class guy in Canada while he can live big here in naija and still "spoil" his family in Canada

Please you guys should stop these POF wahala.
For me, I've used some part of the POF I initially submitted. But can provide an updated POF within 3 days or 1 week max.

My friend who moved last week, didn't even show POF at MR request "because the initial POF" was still OK for him and his wife that he added later.

So its quite situational.
But even if a background check is done after first submission to the CIC and they see the account balance is red, they'll ask for and updated POF.

That's all I guess.

Dear All, I want to confirm if after getting an Educational Credential Assessment Report from WES or any other body assessing credentials, it's also mandatory for one to submit secondary or post secondary education documents (certificates, diplomas or degrees) and even transcripts for successfully completed secondary or post secondary studies or the ECA report is enough as proof of education?
You must submit your certificate for your undergraduate study.
Submitting of transcript is optional.

Baba, could you please interpret this information I found on cic website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/#mi13

excerpts from the above link

Ministerial Instructions 13 (MI13): Processing of new and existing applications for temporary residence and permanent residence
Ministerial Instructions have been issued in order to assist in the prevention of the transmission and spread of the Ebola outbreak.

Effective October 31, 2014, CIC will not process any new permanent resident or temporary resident applications and will stop processing existing temporary resident applications for which a final decision has not been made if the applicant has recently been in an Ebola-affected country.

For pending permanent resident applications, visas will not be issued unless the officer is satisfied the applicant has not been in an Ebola-affected country within the three months prior to finalization.

These measures are temporary to protect the health and safety of Canadians, and until further notice.
CIC will not process new permanent resident visa applications made by foreign nationals who have been in an Ebola affected country (which includes having resided, travelled or transited) within three months prior to the date the application is received by CIC.

These Instructions do not apply to applications from foreign nationals with valid temporary resident status applying for permanent residence while in Canada.

In order for an officer to issue an approval (final positive decision) of a pending permanent residence visa application, the officer must be satisfied that the applicant has not been in an Ebola affected country (which includes having resided, travelled or transited) in the three-month period prior to the issuance of a visa or other document under section 11 of IRPA.

She'll have to take the General training test version as CIC only accepts the General training test version.

After 2 months of applying for remarking of my writing test i did in July. British council sent me a mail that it has been processed. i went to their office to pick up my result and from the previous 5.5 i was given, it was upgraded to 6.5. meanwhile that was the reason i had to retake the test because i scored above the recommended 6.0 on others.
they never told me it would take two months until i had paid. so i just decided to write again to save time, and made a band total of 7.0.
imagine if they had marked it correctly, i wouldn't have paid for another test because i was sure of what i wrote atleast to score above 6.0 in the writting test.
i just feel it could be intentional to make people take the test more than once, thereby increasing revenue.
Thank God for the turnaround.
But if you read their site thoroughly, you'll see that the remarking period takes almost that time.
So they are not entirely wrong.
Congrats anyway.

Hello gurus in the building , m rili late into this, I must v bin sleeping ......anyway sorry to draw you all back, bin searching briefly but cant find wat m looking for. undecided

My questions are, for a new applicant , is it still open, cos I saw 2014 on it though my occupation hasn't reach the capped 1000. cool

If its still open, do I fill it myself or do u suggest an agent. Have seen so many of dem, online and off, Nigerian and foreign. If m to do it myself, how do I start ( sorry if this question is dump) , if u say agent , any recommendations? embarassed

If these questions v bin answered inside the thread, please just quote me and point me to it. ( sorry if m asking to be fed, v tried feeding myself....lol)....thanks in advance. kiss

In other news, my aunty and sister v bin telling me about this but I kept saying my field isn't there, little did I know I v bin sleeping on okada. Now I hope I don't fall..... cry
According to the official information, this programme is ending on the last day of April 2015. So you can still apply if your NOC is not filling up fast. Secondly, there is no advantage of using an agent. It's a process that you can do on your own. My uncle started the process around 2010/2011 and he did the process himself and successfully travelled in 2012. I was quite ignorant of the process as at Mid-may but thanks to gurus in the house who have enlightened me thus far. I successfully submitted my application this month and by God's grace, i'll make it alongside other nairalanders.

I really don't know the timeline of your application .
If you have been charged an received PER ,then you will have to inform Accra of your change of job .If you have not been charged, wait until you're charged before notifying Accra visa office.
Don't worry if your new job is related or not ,what is important is that your profession used in applying is authentic with all relevance supporting documents .
If your WES evaluation is federal skilled version, you have no issues.

I applied under 2131 and my new job is not related to it but I just had to leave because the pay nor be mate (x3 of my former). Also in respect to DoubleBam2x's post, i believe my type of assesment with WES can be independently viewed by CIC. Lastly, how was your medicals or you haven't gone? ( I remember helping my Uncle find his way to Yaba hospital then in 2012). As things stand now, you may not celebrate Easter in Nigeria. Any help damkollins?
