No one is talking of citizenship,we are talking of qualifications for the office,Simple logic, only people born in Nigeria can be President, part of defunct Gongola State now Adamawa state were atiku hails from became part of Nigeria via a referendum,Atiku though a citizen is not Nigerian by birth, same way people from Bakassi can never qualify to rule in Cameroon, only those born in bakassi Cameroon after the referendum.
Please, do not ignore the Constitution. Citizenship is at the foundation of becoming a qualified candidate for the office of President of Nigeria. The Constitution speaks to you.

They were laughing at APC,Tinubu and President Buhari, they were calling our President a dullard ,meanwhile the strategists in APC knew,People up North know also that Atiku for a fact is no Fulani and not a Nigerian,it will take the people down south another 5 years to get the info.
Anyone that believes Atiku is Fulani is illiterate. Each tribe have distinct features that is generic with its members and not found in people outside its gene pool. Fulani have physical traits that stand them out, even in cross-bred population. Atiku does not possess any physical trait of a pure or a cross-bred Fulani. When you look at his features and that of Chamba tribe, he fits in that gene pool perfectly. Chambas are not Fulanis. There is a mystery sorrounding Atiku's background. Obasanjo highlighted this in one of his books and said his background is "shady". No one truly know his background beside what he claims and said.

TonyeBarcanista:
Firstly, what is the geographical territory called Nigeria? Is Adamawa state no longer within Nigeria territory as defined by the constitution irrespective of when they joined the Union?

What the Constitution mean by those born within Nigeria has to do with those born within the present geographical entity called Nigeria as defined in the Constitution. Let's not showcase uninformed opinion
The steps to becoming President of Nigeria consists of many building blocks. One of them is that a candidate for the position must be a citizen. How do you define who is citizen? This is answered by our Constitution and is outlined above. In many countries around the world citizenship is not addressed by the Constitution, but in ours the topic is fully narrated by our Constitution. So we cannot ignore it.

Adamawa State is part of Nigeria beginning June 1st 1961. No where in the Constitution is the classification of citizenship defined by State, geography or adoption of territories. Please reference the Constitution paragraph above for informed input.

Chapter III - Citizenship

25. (1) The following persons are citizens of Nigeria by birth-namely-

(a) every person born in Nigeria before the date of independence, either of whose parents or any of whose grandparents belongs or belonged to a community indigenous to Nigeria;

Provided that a person shall not become a citizen of Nigeria by virtue of this section if neither of his parents nor any of his grandparents was born in Nigeria.

(b) every person born in Nigeria after the date of independence either of whose parents or any of whose grandparents is a citizen of Nigeria; and

(c) every person born outside Nigeria either of whose parents is a citizen of Nigeria.

(2) In this section, "the date of independence" means the 1st day of October 1960.
Those qualified to become President of Nigeria must, by virtue of the constitution, be classified under the two following headings:
1- a person born "anywhere" before October 1st 1960 and whose parent or grandparent has indigeneity in Nigeria.
2 - a person born in Nigeria after October 1st 1960 and is thus a citizen, or born "anywhere" and parent or grandparent is a citizen of Nigeria.

Citizenship of Nigeria by law constitutes:
1 - "indigeneity" before Independence.
2- After Independence birth in Nigeria or "anywhere" to parents and grandparents with Nigerian citizenship.

Was Atiku Abubakar born in Nigeria? NO.
Was his parent or grandparent a people indigeneous to Nigeria? NO.
Where is their indigeneity? ADAMAOUA, CAMEROON.
Were his parents or grandparents born in Nigeria? NO.

When did Adamaoua, Cameroon, become Adamawa, Nigeria? JUNE 1ST 1961 via REFERENDUM.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is now a Nigerian, his citizenship gained via the referendum of 1961. The Nigerian Constitution and Law only recognizes citizenship, and by extension qualification to the Presidency, via birth or parentage, not by plebiscite. Unless the Constitution is amended to include those who were absorbed by plebiscite in 1961, Atiku Abubakar does not meet qualification, nor satisfy the law to be President of Nigeria, his prior public office notwithstanding.

That does not impeach their claim on his foreing birth and citizenship. He could have been a past president if judgement is given against his qualification then he can no longer stand for any future elective office.

Politics › Re: See Names Of Nigerian Drug Dealers Jailed In Saudi Arabian Prisons by MetaPhysical: 11:12pm On Apr 10, 2019
Truth be told, all these crimes on international soil and on foreigners can be summarised under one bucket - ritual killings!

Those in SE butchering children taken from baby factories and selling to ritualists. Those in SW kidnapping and butchering humans for body parts to ritualists. Those in North under guise of fulani herdsman, bokoharam, zamfara bandits, kidnapping, beheading and harvesting human organs to sell to marabouts.

Ritualists and marabouts are hired by yahoo+ boys, drug mules, human traffickers.

The day after the woman was beheaded in Saudi Arabia, another Nigerian was arrested at their airport in Jeddah for drug. Some of these people put a lot of trust in the efficacy of the soap they use to bathe them in the shrine and are misled to think they are invisible underneath all the lotion and jazz the jujuman used to fortify them. So they arrive foreign ports believing Arab cannot see them, Malaysian cannot see them, Phillipino cannot see them. I wonder what shock goes through their mind when intercepted.

These are poor people. Where did they get money to book airline, book hotel on foreign soil? Someone financed them. This someone owned the drug. This someone paid for the butchered human parts. This someone paid the ritualist and marabout. Who is this someone?

We need to find them and start butchering them and deny their relatives the joy of burying their body they way their atrocities have made their victims unknown and unfound.

For a human to hear on news that Saudi just killed a person for drug offense...and then to get on plane a day after and head to that same fate.....my people something is not right. I even wonder if these people themselves are victims...acting under hypnotic spell and turned by the jujuman into a zombie that just goes through the motions, all reasoning and logic muted in their brain.

As long yahoo+ is rewarding, drug moneybis rewarding, human trafficking is rewarding innocent children will keep dissapearing from our streets on a regular and baby factory will not stop production.

Buhari has capacity to stop this bullshyyte. He did before in 1983. Every week a Nigerian was caught in US or Europe smuggling in drug.

Convicted drug pushers and their financiers were executed right in front of their family house and the corpse left there for the family to resolve their shame. Within six months after this brutal but necessary response not a single Nigerian was reported caught trying to smuggle drug into any foreign soil anywhere on the planet.

We need a similar enforcement. The level of cruelty of these yahoo+ boys, the drug barons and the human traffickers on innocent citizens is beyond tolerable. We are at a point these beasts are becoming mainstream elites in society.

NextLevel should kill this nonsense!

Politics › Re: Bill Reducing Cost Of Burial In Anambra Passed By House Of Assembly by MetaPhysical: 5:31pm On Apr 10, 2019
cyrilamx:
The Anambra State House Of Assembly has passed a bill that seeks the reduction in the expenses of organising funeral and burial rites in the state, and to prosecute offenders.

Sponsored by Hon. Charles Ezeani, the member representing Anaocha 11 constituency, the bill was passed after due consideration by House during Wednessday's plenary session.

The just passed bill provides that in the event of death, no person shall deposit any corpse in the mortuary or any place beyond two months from the day of the death.

The bill also noted that from the commencement of the law, no person shall subject any relation of the deceased person to a mourning period of more than one week from the date of burial ceremony.

Apart from the number of days recommended for burial ceremonies, the bill equally frowns on other flamboyant means of celebration that may cause destruction of property, gunshots, praise-singing, blocking of roads and streets during burial ceremonies; it also states that defaulters shall be punished in accordance with the law.

It further states that burial ceremonies in the state shall be for one day.

The bill further stipulates that during burial and funeral ceremonial activities, the family of the deceased shall provide entertainment for their kindred, relatives and other sympathizers at their own discretion.

Speaking further on the signifance of the  bill, Charles Ezeani, the sponsor of the bill who represents Anaocha 2 Constituency, maintained that the bill also made provision for a monitoring and implementation committee that would enforce the law as well as their responsibilities.

The lawmaker described  the bill as "an important and great achievement by the 6th Anambra Assembly", as it had put to rest the high cost of burial and funeral activities in the state.

Rita Maduagwu, Speaker of the Assembly, commended the lawmakers on the quick passage of the bill, saying it would "moderate burial expenses in the state".
