Politics › A New Dilemma For Atiku by MetaPhysical(op): 9:48pm On Apr 16, 2019
Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has insisted the result from the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shows he defeated President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential election.

In his submission to the presidential election tribunal, the former vice president gave the “unique MAC address and Microsoft product ID of the INEC server” from where the results were obtained.

According to the result declared by INEC from the 36 states and the FCT, Buhari polled 15,191,847, while Atiku came second with 11,262,978 votes.

But in his petition submitted at the tribunal, the PDP candidate claimed he garnered a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari, who, according to him, polled 16,741,430 votes.

INEC, in response, said the results being paraded by Abubakar is fabricated and not from its website.

But in their response to the INEC’s submission, a copy of which was obtained by TheCable, Abubakar and the PDP said address of the server from which the results were obtained are unique to INEC.

“The Servers from which the said figures were derived belong to the first Respondent (INEC). The figures and votes were transmitted to the first Respondent’s Presidential Result’s Server 1 and thereafter aggregated in INEC_PRES_RSLT_SRV2019, whose Physical Address or unique Mac Address is 94-57-A5-DC-64-B9 with Microsoft Product ID 00252-7000000000-AA535. The above descriptions are unique to the 15t Respondent’s Server,” they said.

“There is no conjecture in the votes and scores in the table pleaded by the Petitioners. The figures are factual. The Spokesperson for the 2nd Respondent’s Campaign Organization openly admitted that the data in question was in the first Respondent’s Server when he wrote and submitted a petition to the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) asking the Security agencies to investigate the 2nd Petitioner herein for allegedly hacking into the Server of the 1St Respondent and obtaining the data in question.

“Specifically, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Spokesperson of the 2nd Respondent claimed in the said petition that it was the first Petitioner who smuggled the data into the Server.”

Atiku and the PDP also alleged the INEC chairman “committed grave errors in the final collation exercise” for the election by “falsely crediting” some persons with political parties, including “Okotie Christopher, Reverend Dr. Onwubuya and Ojinika Jeff Chinze.”

“The grave errors referred to in paragraphs 4 and 5 above were under the hands and signature of the first Respondent’s Chairman, (who was also the Returning Officer) in the conduct of the final collation of the results of the Presidential Election,” they added.

“The Petitioners state that the final results as declared by the first respondent are those that were transmitted online to the website of the first Respondent (www inecnigeria.org).”

How many times does Ibo want to be told he is not wanted nor needed in Lagos?

Akiolu used parable of lagoon to address you. Fashola used destitution as a hint to warn you. Tinubu has told you you are ungrateful and a bunch of free loaders. His wife has said publicly Lagos does not trust you any more. Elder of Lagos, and a former Federal Minister, Alhaji Okunnu, has told you you are rubbish and to go home if you need cabinet positions.

How many times will you be told you have outlived your hospitality in Lagos?

Ok bro.

I am going to keep this answer very short.

Between 1960 and 2019 we have had the following Constitutions.

The Constitution of 1960 - Which introduced Parliamentary System of Government. Even though we were independent The Queen remained our Head of State. This was not acceptable and so brought in a new constitution.

The Constitution of 1963 (1st Republic) - The Federation of Nigeria was renamed Federal Republic of Nigeria and The Queen removed as our Head of State in preference for an indigenous one. In January 1966 we had a coup that terminated 1st Republic and brought in Military and the Constitution of 1963 was abolished. The Military ruled with Decrees.

The Constitution of 1979 (2nd Republic) - Military handed power back to Civilians. We created a new Constitution and adopted American System of Government, Democracy. In December 1983 another Coup sacked the 2nd Republic and terminated the Constitution. We went back to Military Decrees.

The Constitution of 1993 (3rd Republic) - MKO won the election to return from Military to Civilian rule but Banbangida killed the 3rd Republic before it even started. The Constitution of 1993 was thus never implemented. An Interim Government was set up but it did not last before Abacha took over and prolonged Military rule. We returned to Civilian rule in 1999.

The Constitution of 1999 (4th Republic) - This Constitution is the current and only living law of the land as we speak, any other Constitution prior to it are dead and invalid and cannot be applied to conduct Government or to adjudicate. In 2011 President Jonathan signed two Amendments to law, thus it is now referred as The Constitution of 1999 as Amended.

Atiku's eligibility for the Presidency is addressed by the current Constitution. Unless we return Government and the Sovereingty wholesale to the Constitution of 1963, you cannot pick and choose items from it to address in court.

Atiku is still not qualified to be President of Nigeria. grin

Exactly. BC was never harnessed by the french or the cameroonians. They were never a country of their own. The only country they've been part of has been Nigeria. These territories including BC and other parts of Nigeria were formerly known as Royal Niger Company Territories .
No, Jada was part of Ganye which was in Adamawa which was a UN mandate territory.

When you talk about Royal Niger Company holdings...those were territories that Royal Niger Company owned and later sold off to the colonial authorities who then integrated them into the pre-existing colony and protectorate of Nigeria. An example of a RNC territory is Wawa and Ngwa areas, now in SE Nigeria.

The UN mandate territory of Adamawa was never a RNC territory. In fact Germany was their colonial master. Germany lost it after its defeat in 1st world war. So Atiku's grand parents and parents were subjects of Germany just as our great and grand parents were subjects of British colonial government.

In response to Punch, here is the entire Chapter 2 of Nigerian Constitution where Citizenship is addressed. I noticed the author of the article said "to the effect". To the effect is a reckless interpretation of legal document. The document is not vague, it is very clear.

Whether by 1963 standard or 1999 standard, the law says Atiku is not qualified to contest for office of President.

Dr. Philip Njemanze is an illustrious son of Owerri. He is many things rolled into one but what is known commonly to many is that he is a medical practitioner of repute, a human rights activist, a scientist and author. In his latest book, Njemanze veered into the turf you will expect to find professors of history doing uncommon thing and stirring the hornet net. In his book titled: Igbo the Mediators of Yahweh, Culture of life Vol. 1, he raised a number of issues that would pass for controversy insisting that the Igbos are the real progenitors of creation. In this interview by our AFAM ECHI, Njemanze maintained that no white man was on earth when the Igbo’s existed adding that Igbos ruled England up till 1600. He also said that Igbos created the entire civilization and argued that all the biblical stories about Jesus happened in Owerri. He insists that every claim he made can be proven. It is an interesting read. Enjoy yourself.

FG had no problem with Ipob. They had Kanu under constant surveillance at his Afaraukwu home and monitored his movement in public. So they were content to maintain that distance with Ipob.

It was your governors in SE that developed anxiety and went into panic mode because Ipob was winning Igbos over to their Biafran crusade and Kanu had become an authority. Kanu was telling Igbos to disobey the governors and ordering sit at homes and boycotts with successful response.

SE governors went to Abuja and lied that Kanu was ready to take over government in SE and if soldiers were not sent in to stop him it could become another bokoharam. This is why python was dispatched to go to SE and dance.

So dont concoct lies to hang on VP neck. Blame your leaders in SE for ipob becoming a terrorist organization. Thats how your leaders wanted it.

Let me educate you a little if your ignorance would allow you read below!

A simple historical research reveals that Atiku was born in Jada Town of Adamawa. Adamawa was old Gongola State, which was created on 3rd February 1976 from Adamawa and Sardauna Provinces, together with the Wukari Division of the then Benue-Plateau State. Gongola was on 27th August 1991, divided into two states - Adamawa & Taraba.

Northern Cameroons became the Sardauna Province of Northern Nigeria on 31 May 1961, while Southern Cameroons became West Cameroon, a constituent state of the Federal Republic of Cameroon, on 1st October 1961.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, was born 25th November 1946 in Jada Village (part of Adamawa), NOT part of the Sardauna Provinces which could have made him a non-Nigerian at birth!

To recap; the present Adamawa State used to be Gongola State. Gongola State was created out of: (1) Adamawa; (2) Sardauna Provinces from the old Northern Cameroon; and (3) Wukari Division of the then Benue-Plateau State. Jada, where Atiku was born in 1946 was NEVER part of Northern Cameroon, as it was located in Adamawa province and not any part of Sardauna Province. If Atiku had been born in any part of the Sardauna Provinces, then he would not have been born a Nigerian at birth BUT that is clearly not the case!

In fact, the people of the old Sardauna Provinces, are now under Sardauna Local Government, South East of Taraba State. These are the people from the old Northern Cameroon, who became Nigerians in 1961.

You may also want to note that the Old Northern Nigeria had 19 Provinces as follows:

1. Bauchi
2. Benue
3. Borno
4. Kano
5. Katsina
6. Plateau
7. Taraba
8. Niger
9. Adamawa
10. Kaduna
11. Sokoto
12. Gombe
13. Jigawa
14. Kebbi
15. Kabba
16. Nassarawa
17. Yobe
18. Zamfara
19. Ilorin.

You will not find Sardauna amongst the old Northern provinces, as Sardauna was part of the Northern Cameroon until 1961. People who historically came from Northern Cameroon, are found in Southeast Taraba State today. Jada was part of the old Adamawa province, listed no. 9 above, and was never part of old Northern Cameroon!

Lawyers acting for the APC could have spent time researching on Wikipedia before rushing to embarrassingly showcase their poor knowledge of history.

And if anyone of them, or their supporters think Wikipedia is not a reliable legal research engine, I refer them to the case of EDWARD NKWEGU OKEREKE v. NWEZE DAVID UMAHI & ORS, SC.1004/2015, decided 5th February, 2016, where the Supreme Court of Nigeria held as follows:

"According to Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopaedia, the INEC card reader is a portable electronic voter authentication device. Designed, specifically, for the accreditation process for the authentication of eligible voters before voting, the machine was configured to read only the PVCS of a particular polling unit and can only work on Election Day, Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopaedia, (last accessed on January 30, 2016)". Per NWEZE, J.S.C., at P. 36, Paras. A-B.

They should also see the case of PML (NIG) LTD v. FRN (2017) LPELR-43480(SC), Per AUGIE, J.S.C., at Pp. 52-56, paras. A-F, where the Supreme Court referenced Wikipedia thus:

“Now, double jeopardy is a procedural defence that prevents an accused person from being tried again on the same or similar charges and on the same facts, following a valid acquittal or conviction - see Wikipedia…”
Get yourself a copy of the referendum of Cameroon of February 11th 1961 and learn sharp sharp.

Nigeria never had anything called Adamawa province prior to June 1st 1960, couple of months after the referendum vote in February.

I will keep my talk short and simple.

British colonialists were the administrators for both Nigeria and Adamawa province. Adamawa province was in trusteeship under Britain. They should have appointed a Governor General to rule Adamawa province but because of proximity to Nigeria, the Governor General of Nigeria oversee the affairs of Adamawa.

If Cameroon did not get its independence (1st January 1960) ahead of Nigeria it would have fallen under the administration of Azikiwe the succeeding Governor General after our independence on 1st October 1960. When Cameroon became independent in January Britain relinquished its trusteeship of Adamawa to Cameroon. At that point Adamawa is in sovereign Cameroon.

Prior to January 1st 1960 when Adamawa remained a trust under Britain, it was never recorded as part of Nigerian protectorate. Let me emphasize the legal difference here.

Protectorate of Nigeria was a treaty between the Chiefs of Nigeria and the Crown of England.

Adamawa province on the other hand was a trust of United Nations, given to the British colonials to administer on behalf of UN.

By this distinction Adamawa was never a part of Nigeria even though both were administered by same authority.

I hope you are clear.

FemiMaduka:
You are ignorant (I mean no offence)! The crisis in the Western Region had taken thousands of lives and was fast taking up a civil war dimension, as the Akintola camp and Awolowo camp were ready to pull everywhere down. The central government headed by Tafawa Balewa (who was a stooge to Sardauna) was in support of S.L. Akintola who many felt was not even worthy to lace Awolowo's shoe.

The crisis was very messy and bloody. It created discontent all over. It was obvious there was no end in sight; particularly, the central government was not going to be able to quell the bloody crisis because it was found to have a hand in it!

The problem is that we do not read! This whole thing happened not very long ago, barely seventy (70) years ago. Many of the central actors (including Igbos and Yorubas) have come out to state that the coupists planned to install Awolowo as the Head of government - even Ojukwu, who was very averse to the coup (and actually fought and quelled it in Kano), revealed that the coupist targeted Awolowo to head the government. Never! You blockheads never learn anything of worth!

The leader of the gang, Kaduna Chukwuma Nzeogwu, was more Hausa than Igbo. He was born and bred in Kaduna. And the guys that knew him testified that he had a nationalistic fervor...

The excuse that the 1966 coup led to the pogrom against Igbo civilian population is very silly at best. The core north had killed Igbos on a large scale as far back as 1953, that was almost a decade before self-rule, and thirteen (13) freaking years before the coup!

The plan truth is that at that time Igbos were dominant in both the military and in the civilian sector. The North felt that natural jealousy and insecurity. 'The Igbos were taking over everywhere'. And also, at that point, there was a preponderance of Igbos in the officers corps of the army such that there was no way the army was going to be involved in any major military operation that there wouldn't be a dominance of Igbos.

How can a country thrive with this much misinformation!
Save us your tale by moonlight.

The coup was planned prior to 1966 by Ibos to take over government. Ojukwu had ambition as early as 1963...long before Western crisis..... to overthrow government. They have been plotting this thing soon as Midwest was divested out of Western region. They wanted a total take over of oil producing regions and that was Midwestern region and Ogoja and Cross River area. They actualized this Ibo plot in 1966, January 15th.

The presence of people of other regions in it does not absolve Ibos of guilt and cruelty. Banjo was in Biafra....should we then say Biafra was not an Ibo war?

The coupists had no credibility after murdering govt officials. Whatever they say cannot be given any weight of truthfullness, including their false assertion that it was a plan to install Awo.
Just like Ojukwu said Biafra advance into Ore was to save Yoruba. Save Yoruba from what? Since when has Yoruba appointed Iboman as a savior?

Normally, I don't like communicating with people that insult others (it's a sign of immaturity).

1) Mallam Sabo Barkin Zuwo was a 2nd Republic Senator who despite of his limited Western Education, defeated Former Governor Abubakar Rimi in 1983 Gubernatorial election in Kano State.
In the heat of the electioneering campaign, many people questioned his indigeneship (not citizenship)of Kano because his parents were Nupes from Niger State and only came to live in Kano. He was neither Hausa nor Fulani.

In Kano, you can become a Governor even if you are a non-indigenes in as much as you are a Muslim and born and bred in Kano.

Ex Gov Barkin Zuwo was from Niger State and
Ex-Gov,Mallamm Shekarau is from Borno State.

2) Amb Babagana Kingibe, pioneer chairman of SDP, Frontline Presidential Candidate and later the running mate of SDP in 1993, Former Minister and Former SGF.
His Citizenship was never questioned but I think the first person that mentioned him on this thread meant to refer to Alh Abdulraman Shugaba Durman, a charismatic 2nd Republic politician( the majority leader of the then Borno State House of Assembly and a leading light in the GNPP) and a harsh critic of the then ruling NPN.
On January 20,1980 Shugaba was arrested and deported to a village in Chad on the order of Alh Bello Maitama (the then Minister of Internal Affairs) simply because his father was a Chadian. This drew public outcry and several legal fireworks were ignited up to the Supreme Court on the appropriateness of this deportation
Thank you bro. I caused the confusion with name mixup. Durman is who i meant, not Kingibe.

Southerners call them illiterate so they refuse to read english.

On a serious note ....any culture in Nigeria can have newspapers write in its language. You first declare that your people are everywhere in the nation, then express your desire to promote your language nationally to reach your people. If the media refuse you bring economic emphasis by boycotting their business in your cultural homeland. If your homeland has an economic bite on their business they will yield to your demand.

What makes Ibo is not state line. Its cultural homogeneity. Ibo is Ibo. Ibos that settled in Rivers like Jaja or in Delta like Nzeogwu are still Ibos.

If Nzeogwu is not Ibo how is Ngozi Iwealla then Ibo, both from Delta State?

chrisxxx:
I am particularly surprised that other than Atiku no soul from Adamawa has rebuffed this claim by APC. If Atiku is from Cameroon and not qualified to run for the exalted office of the presidency of his supposed residence country, this is by extension everyone from Adamawa irrespective of political divide.
Atiku can not come from Cameroon while his monarch is from Nigeria.
Will it be proper to say all allocations to Adamawa be suspended pending the tribunal decision on Atiku's nationality? This is because if Atiku is Cameroonian all people of Adamawa are also Cameroonian including the landed properties.
hahahahahahaha.... grin grin Ibo don panick after hearing Atiku is not qualified to run for Presidency. He is calling everyone in Adamawa to speak out. You should call out Taraba people as well. Adamawa and Taraba were both in Cameroon before the plebiscite. In fact, you should call out all Ibos in SE to speak out in Atiku's defense. Because Ibos may also not be qualified for Presidency.
(he's going to blow his top...watch) grin grin

The case is not about Atiku's citizenship but his eligibility for presidency.
Go read up that section of the constitution
In fact he should read 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. I already replied to him on another thread. He got the language wrong and misunderstood the clarification between CIVIL and ELECTORAL.

But you Yorubas use to maintain that there is no Igbo in Niger Delta. Nzeogwu have become Igbo today because we are talking about his coup.
What culture bear Nzeogwu, is it fulani?
