I think according to some twitter users, he should have used Igbo-Nigerian signifying they are Igbo before they are Nigerians.

But if this is so, that simply just accuses them off being tribal centric
How can a people dispersed everywhere, and proudly label themselves true Nigerians on the fact of their broad distribution in every nook & cranny be anything other than a "Nigerian" first? grin

2Ebisco:
Muiz Banire, President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominee to turn into Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asset Management Corporation (AMCON), has reminded the three senators against his nomination — Remi Tinubu, Olamilekan Solomon and Gbenga Ashafa — that they could not cease ministerial appointments for the likes of Babatunde Fashola, Olusegun Aganga and Musiliu Obanikoro regardless of related opposition.

As reported by Saharareporters, the three senators are working with Bola Tinubu, National chief of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to persuade the Senate towards confirming Banire.

Responding to the event in a press statement, Banire instructed opponents of his nomination that he would solely worship God, and that “no dynasty or empire lasts forever”, as “whatever has a beginning will have an end”.

He mentioned he’s blessed with so many various contact addresses and consequently doesn’t desperately want a political job to outlive.

“It is those who are professional politicians and whose survival depends on such that can be so threatened,” he mentioned.

He additionally apologized to those that really feel he’s not submissive to worshipping Tinubu and co.

@Kiqbucket, “‘unburdened by the hangups of history’, you see that phrase? I lost all the respect I have for that man.”

@Mickeynon4u, “Not mincing words, that man is a real disgrace to Igbo race, imagine him referring to us as ‘Nigerian Igbo’.”

@,UcheOkeyep, “What do you mean by “Nigerian Igbo”. Putting Nigerian first before Igbo. That was intentional. How have we harmed ourselves in Nigeria?
How do we shed ‘Victim mentality’ this sounds like what a BMC would say. You are part of the leaders, so you must address you too.”

@Tonihamilton922, “Sir, with this thread you are standing firmly on quicksand because politics is local. If you’re actually a good listener, you’ll discover what real Igbos want. And of note, ‘Nigerian Igbo’ is the victim. You’ve successfully removed yourself from them, yet may hardly impress the lords.”

@Unclechach, “Moghalu really referred to Igbos as “they” and “them.” Also, what the hell is “Nigerian Igbo”? This is the same person that referred to Gowon as “humane.”

@Ndukaebubedike, “Mr. Moghalu uses ‘they’ and ‘them’ in this thread because maybe he doesn’t consider himself Igbo. Or at least he sees himself as someone looking in from the outside.”

Kingsley Moghalu under fire for referring to Igbos as ‘Nigerian Igbo’Published on July 5, 2020By John Owen Nwachukwu

Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, the 2019 Presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, has received backlash from Nigerians on social media for using the phrase, ‘Nigerian Igbo’ to address the Igbos.

In a series of tweets on Saturday night, Moghalu said, “Nigerian Igbo complain about political ‘marginalization.’ While true because of the civil war, and while Nigeria needs ‘a new grand bargain’ between it’s ethnic nationalities, the Igbos themselves have harmed themselves.

“They must first shed the victim mentality. Then they must address the disadvantage of being ‘led’ by selfish, greedy and self-centered political elite masquerading as political and social-cultural leaders who are the first to shoot down their own.

“Many Igbo leaders are fine men and women. But there are too many that are envious and self-hating, choose to be politically second-class so long as it serves their little interests.

“Ndigbo needs a strategy, with high impact strategic engagement with other ethnic nationalities with a win-win proposition, not ethnic noise-making.

“Do you think it’s a surprise that @BarackObama became US president despite the attempts of many other black Americans like Jesse Jackson? Obama succeeded because he did not have a chip on his shoulder, though he acknowledged the systemic injustice of racism.

“But he had a proposition, not just a sense of entitlement. He was able to largely because he was the son of a Kenyan man and a white American mother who did not descend from a line of former slaves and therefore was spared of their psychological insecurities.

“The joke in Kenya is that a Luo (his father was from the Luo tribe) could be a US president but not a Kenyan one! I ran for President in 2019 as a Nigerian candidate, not as an Igbo candidate, and no apologies. I love Ndigbo. But I also love other Nigerians, unburdened by the hang-ups of history.

“All of this is not to say we should not deal with the civil war in our national history. It is the elephant in the room. I have argued that Nigeria’s leaders must apologize for the millions of lives lost in the Nigeria-Biafra war if we are to heal. That’s the right thing to do,” he said in the statement he shared on Twitter.

Moghalu tweets, however, received a wide range of criticism as some Twitter users see the Professor as pitting himself against his own people.

The first step is to make available expression of interest forms for vying into political offices affordable. The next step is to do a thorough background check of all the candidates. Then from among the shortlist of the best, a candidate can be picked. This way a pool of credible and good candidate is maintained.
What competency sets are they assessing to select candidate?

OEPHIUS:
…Condemns heinous act by guardians

The Enugu State government has promised to take adequate care of the wellbeing of the 10-year-old finale househelp, Miss Nneoma Nnadi, who was grievously injured and maltreated by her guardians, Mrs. Ifeoma Ozougwu and her husband, Mr. Jude Ozougwu. The state government also promised to offset her medical bills and ensure that she receives adequate medical attention.

It was reported that the woman and her husband, Mr. Ozougwu, who reside at Thinkers Corner, Enugu, and hail from Aku in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, inflicted various degrees of injuries on the little child, which prompted their arrest by the Enugu State Police Command, and rescue of the victim - who is now receiving treatment at the ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu.

Consequently, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State directed his Commissioner for Gender Affairs and Social Development, Rt. Hon. Princess Peace Nnaji, to immediately visit the victim at the hospital to ensure that she receives proper medical attention.

Hon. Nnaji, who was accompanied by the Chief Medical Director of ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu, Prof. Hycienth Onah, to see the abused child, empathized with the victim and her immediate family and promised them that the state government will not take the matter lightly.

She stressed that “we can never sweep it (matter) under the carpet”, pointing out that the dastardly act undermined the Child Rights Act “His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration spent millions of naira, time and energy to enact in the collaboration with UNICEF, to make sure that every child in Enugu State is protected, given education, healthcare and right to life, among others”.

According to her, “Enugu State government is not taking this lying low. The state government will take care of all the medical bills, facility and everything concerning this girl”.

Expressing shock at the ugly experience the traumatized little girl encountered in the hands of her guardians, Hon. Nnaji thanked the neighbours for bringing the cruel incident to public domain, describing them as “Good Samaritans”.

Responding, the mother of the victim, Mrs. Nnedinso Nnadi, expressed gratitude to Gov. Ugwuanyi for the state government’s concern and intervention, disclosing that it was a traumatic experience for the child and the entire family and asked God to reward all those who have played roles towards the rescue and treatment of their child.

In his remark, the Chief Medical Director of ESUT Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu, Prof. Onah, explained that the victim is responding to treatment and being take care of adequately, adding that “her chances of full recovery are high”.

Enugu State is in the hands of God!

Actually the personality and quality of a candidate vying for an elective office matters. These features may decide the outcome of election result. However no candidate should be allowed to become a cult personality that towers above the party.
So then define those candidates on your list. What quality can we expect, and where can we see it evidenced?

Thank you bro.

We already know every administration will face challenges. Yoruba will be president in 2023.

This will be the first democratically organic Yoruba son presiding over Nigeria. We want to think and act ahead so the problem of Ibo and Biafra is not something he has to deal with.

It is therefore very important and crucial that Ibo is forced against their will into competition in 2023. This thread is part of the mission to awaken and steer them to take hold of their own political destiny.

They cannot start a political train on their own, somebody has to do it for them. Thats what this is.

A campaign to point to them reason their homeland is where it is. They can change it around and develop but past misfortunes should be transformed into future promises.

PDP must nominate Ibo candidate and bring them into the competition. This is the only way they can see their truw worth and value in Nigeria.

For now candidates are out of the equation. What is important is the party composition. Who and who are in the party.
grin grin

In an earlier post i pointed out Ibos do not think ahead and imagine outcomes in a politrickery.

You just demonstrated the point.

If Tinubu moves to KOWA party and ask Yorubas to vote KOWA, APC will be displaced in SW. grin

Meanwhile Akeredolu cannot get same result by asking people to follow him to PDP or even in APC.

Think about it.

Its called forecasting. Parties hire analysts and pay them good money to calibrate and find the best 3 candidates to sponsor. Out of the three a winner emerges.

So the candidates you listed earlier are empty?

What are their values to national progress? Define it.

I think 2023 should be more about the party than the candidate. Our experience with strong and powerful candidate teaches us to do away with the philosophy of powerful and and great candidate. True.

What values are your candidates bringing with them to move Nigeria forward?

I am not here to answer those question until you tell me what made Buhari and Tinubu more qualified than Dr.Ogbonnaya Onu,Dr, Chris Ngige,Nnamadi and OUK etc....
Fair.

Buhari is not a candidate in 2023.

To have a forward progress Nigeria needs a leader with a socialist agenda to uplift citizens and a capitalist agenda to build and sustain economy and trade.

Our winning candidate must have proven records and tracks of success at promoting and practicing diversity and inclusion. The candidate must have a sustainable blue-print for structural growth and efficiencies in manpower, labor productivity as well skills and knowledge acquisition.

We want a candidate that understands and appreciates the contract between govt and citizens and effect policies that is balanced, not oppressive.

The candidate must understand the dichotomy between ruling govt and opposition government and exploit the opportunities of partisanship to move the country forward.

All my candidates without exception qualify on this definition.

From your writing the Igbo political elite never invest in any political project on a national scale. They wait to claim the trophy. Once the soup is done they will come forward with their soup bowl. They are waiting for the tickets to be shipped to them.
That has been their political history in Nigeria.

They are acutely deficient in forecasting and strategizing a political outcome.

They are not involved in Edo. They are hiding at moment....but if Obaseki wins they will troop out and claim their support gave him victory.

They are not founders like Yorubas who are known for pioneering and exceling. Ibos are political opportunists.

Similarly they are unable to found developmental and industrial initiatives in Iboland but they take opportunity where industries already exist to eeke a survival.

The opportunities they have had are abundant and at this point Ibo should not be crying to Feds about lack of development in Iboland.

Beside political opportunities there is also economic. They make money elseqhere and still refuse to take up a marshall plan and renew Ibo out of self-help.

Ibo ruled government with Balewa. Ibo was the ruling government in Ironsi's military. They ruled government with Shagari. Ibo ruled with Babangida. Ibo ruled with GEJ.

Yet no development corporation or industrial estate.

PDP owe Ibo. 2023 is time for Ibo to get paid and PDP must make it happen for them. The presidential candidate of PDP in 2023 must be Ibo. This is absolutely deserved....after their sweat and sacrifice to that party.
