Travel / Re: Iyere Flyover: Umahi Inspects Construction Of Longest Flyover In Nigeria by mex551(m): 3:44pm On Mar 05, 2022
God bless you sir. What Ebonyi need most is what you just highlighted. Do you even know that Level 12 Teachers in Ebonyi earn less than 30k monthly.
I am telling you this because I am aware of this. Salaries of Tea6 are hardly paid in Ebonyi. Yet they are investing in this kind of projects.
wiseoneking:
Though this is not bad but I expected Umahi to toe the paths of development process especially of Anambra state that tends majorly in human index development, sound education etc. Ebonyi state is probably the least developed eastern states and the most illiterate. They should overhaul the primary and secondary education system by making sure that children in rural villages have access to good education. I am really excited about his infrastructures but that is like taking the pattern of Northern states like Kano who ate bend to impress the society by building longest flyover, longest that but having the most illiterate society in Nigeria. Invest heavily in education, Agriculture and small research and not on these for now. In I actually applauded him for King David medical university but unfortunately, the cost of medicine there is as that of private university which defeats the aim of accessibility of the average Eboyians.
For example, the international cargo airport is actually not needed in Ebonyi state for now, I bet you it will be poorly utilized compared to Anambra airport. Fortunately, the few people that will even make use of it are most likely be Anambrarians.
Summary of what I am driving at is that he should HEAVILY LOOK INTO PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION FUNDING AND MASSIVE LITERACY PROG before the pattern of development of a SE is state be liken to a heavily illiterate NW like Kano.

@mex551 How were you able to resolve this? did you appeal to the council? Or did you wait it out. I happen to be in a similar situation, the nearest school, has a place for year 2, the kid has started, the year 4 school is further away, he has not started because we are awaiting an offer from a closer school that has space. However the further away year 4 schools keeps calling that he should resume as its illegal for him to be out of school after being offered a place.
they were able to offer us same school. the kids has all resumed. The kids are doing very few subjects unlike in Naija where they do up to 15 subjects I will advise that you accept the offer pending when another opportunity comes for then to be in same school

Good morning house, Please I need assistance, I want to use Form A to send UPKEEP to my elder brother in the UK, has anyone here done this?
you can do that. So far you have evidence that he is your blood brother. Just fill the cbn form. Link your bank and his account number. When submitting documents, put your brother's admission letter., CAS, evidence of your relationship etc. It will fly. I know someone who has done it. I have also used it twice but it's for my wife as a beneficiary

use oanda rate with small top up because of exchange rate fluctuations

Lol the person Says he got unconditional offer and you say you don't think so. Nawa
Everyone is required to pay initial deposit to guarantee your enrolment. And this is usually after the unconditional offer.

Anyways to answer your question, if you get a conditional offer , the mail usually states how to accept it. It's usually by replying the mail or by accepting the offer via the portal the school created for you after you applied.
so if they give you a conditional offer and you accept it, it becomes unconditional abi? It doesn't work that way. An unconditional offer has conditions that must be met Before the school issues you a unconditional offer

I asked a question sometime ago on this platform on how to transfer fund from binance or coinbase to my UK bank account. Just wanted to give an update on what I did.

I opened a coinbase account and PayPal here in the UK. I also linked my monzo to both. I subsequently transferred my usdt from binance to coinbase and then transferred it PayPal. I finally withdraw the cash to my monzo via PayPal. The withdrawal from paypal to my monzo account was free but I paid about €5 to transfer from coinbase to paypal

Hope this helps someone

Please, how can I get Covid 19 Pass? I got fully vaccinated in Nigeria and I came into the UK two weeks ago.

An agency asked for the Covid Pass. I have NHS number though.
have you registered with a GP and gotten your NHS number ? If affirmative, download NHS app , follow the directive on how to get covid pass. They will assign you to a location where they will physically collect your vaccine card and check it. After that, they will now upload the pass into your app. That might take up to 2 weeks after the physical verification of your Naija covid card. I did mine few weeks ago

While I would happily take your money off you (I paid almost 1.50/l for diesel today, Putin is mad), I'm working this weekend and will instead encourage you to do some research on the internet and tailor your CV accordingly (which was frankly what I did when I first came to the UK as a student), and if you feel you still need a look-through, DM me next weekend.
thanks

Correct regarding the above.
Relocation expenses of course have to be both documented and reasonable (some organisations have exhaustive lists) and its also fairly standard for those expenses to be repayable if the employee takes off again before the employer has gotten plenty work out of them.
sorry to digress a little bit. Do you review CV for a fee ? I noticed that you are a HR personnel. Can I send you a DM?

Lol, okay that’s great. Thanks so much for the info. The 2 pounds 50 per day do you drop it as school each day you drop them off. Or is it something you can pay for in bulk ?
there is usually a school app where you pay in and order the type of meal you want, based on their menu for the day

E go hard. When ukgov announced it, they made it clear it was for 12 months renewable. That’s most likely what most coys will give.
not sure that is correct. What they said was that it will run for 12 months in the first instance. Not the duration of the Visa but the program

Good morning people,
I applied for my NI immediately I got my brp 2 days after I got into London. I used my hotel address hoping it'll be ready just like the brp (I never knew that was not a good one.) I applied on Feb 5 and I have left the hotel since Feb 8. I was told it'll be ready in 16 weeks so I was chilling. Not until a friend who entered last week got his own yesterday.
I called the hotel immediately to confirm if they received any package on my behalf and they said no. Please, how do I track to know it has been delivered, or if not, how can I change the delivery address to my new address. People I asked said it should have been delivered by now.
Please I need help. I got a job through a referral but I couldn't push through because NI was requested.

Pls help...
relax. You will get it. I got mine one month after applying but my spouse got hers in less than 10 days.

Our ppl always muddying the waters for others...smh
I saw an advert the other day, a website offering this service to prospective students.
I have a close pal who is in sch right now and she has not enjoyed the experience so far because 90% of her class mates both Nigerians and Indians etc are always out there working to make up their fees, so have very poor participation level both in class and in their grp projects. I felt bad for her because going to school is not only about the certificate but also about getting to meet people, networking, gaining new perspectives from the interactions....
Las Las, the UK will put stringent rules in place and everyone will rest finally...I actually heard something about having proof of funds for 6 months before visa application, I don't know how true it is but at this rate, they will be demanding actual fee payment before visa application.
I just weak. Tougher times ahead for who never cross. By the time they make it more stringent.

I am having a challenge with my electricity supplier due to the bills am getting. I live in a 2 bedroom flat and I used electricity for everything including heating. My first and second bill are over £300 monthly and I 've told the electricity supplier am not paying it because it's outrageous. My boiler is on auto so we used heating for only 11 hours a day especially at night when we are back from school and work. We 've checked the meter and it records I consumed about 1,000 kWh in a month. The funny thing is that the heating is only on in the sitting room and one of the bedroom. Me and the kids sleep in one room in order to reduce cost of heating.
I have already switched to edf on a fixed rate which we come into effect as from the 20th of this month.
Please anybody with experience should let me know if it's ok to consume that much kWh in a month and what's the process with sorting out a faulty meter which am suspecting?
call them and then change to fixed direct debit. Alternatively, you can ditch them and look for another energy company and do fixed direct debit, it shouldn't be more than $130 per month. You need to also factor in the tariff hike in April

Good evening, please I need advice.

I want to buy a new phone cos mine does not have space for more apps. Am in UK. I approached EE and was given an offer of credit and spread payment in 24 months with a increase in interest rate at a point.

Or do I save up and just buy or phone or go for it to build credit score?

Are they places I can buy phone and spread payment without subscribing to a mobile network because I have Vodafone and Giffgaff already.

Thanks
if you decide to go for it. You can buy it and still retain your old number. That's what I did few days ago. I bought lebara when I came but this week, I ported to sky mobile and still retained same number
