Hmmm... So, I'm to write back to the Council pleading that I shouldn't be sent? It's just £150 so not like I'm missing out on so much.

Another thing I might do is look for email addresses of UKVI and inform them of the mail I got from the Welsh Government.
u get time shaa

Welsh Government has announced that a £150 cost of living payment is to be paid to the account of all occupiers of properties that are in council tax bands A, B, C and D.

The £150 is not a rebate on the council tax bill, it is a payment to help with the rising cost of all utility bills.

A working Government.

My question is "For those on Tier 4 visa not eligible to Public Funds, Is this Public Funds?"

I should think so.

Hello fam.

Please, how can one get a very cheap car rental service in the UK that includes insurance, MOT and service? I just want to pay monthly rental while the car company takes care of the rest. Got NHS job that requires driving to the homes of patients.

Can't afford to buy a car as the trust requires I have a car to drive for the job on resumption day. And I don't qualify for car salary sacrifice scheme according to the trust.

Please, kindly help.

Thanks
why not look for cheap car and manage first. A whole lot on Facebook market place

Your earnings are still within your personal tax allowance, income tax deduction will kick in once HMRC estimates your annual income to be above that threshold.

Thanks. Just wanted to be sure that they won't calculate and take all at once.

Would your gross earnings from when you started work until the 5th April be less than £12,570? If you answered yes, then you have nothing to worry about, as you would have earned below the annual income tax-free allowance for the 2021/2022 tax year and therefore exempt from paying income tax. You should however see a change from the 6th of April. Don’t worry, you go pay tax tire.

Dear Elders

I noticed that for the three months that I have worked, the only deduction from my salary has been NI, PAYE has been zero.

Is there anything to be worried here? Hope they will not come with sledge hammer and take all at once. Should I complain to my employer?

Morning all

I don come again. My daughter in Year 4 class told me that they have upto year 9 abi 10 in their school here. Is it an equivalent of JSS in naija? Am asking because their elder brothers in JSs1 and 3 will join them soonest in the UK. They are 11 and 13 years old respectively. Will they be admitted back to Primary school? Or Secondary school. Honestly this UK school system is confusing

Don’t worry. If you like, call the newspapers all the derogatory names in this world. Experience has taught us a lot.

A GP practice will tell you to only call at 8:00 am. There will be thousands calling at the same time. You don’t get through. You complain about problem with your skin, the GP practice insists on a phone/video appointment call. Me that is using a Nokia Torchlight. Me that is black skinned. How can video call help GP to examine me.

Madam… we have heard you.

We (at least myself) don’t need the newspapers to tell me that GPs are LAZY. They use the excuse of CoViD to hide behind phone and video appointments.

Between Lexus430’s advice (born out of experience) and your own. I know which one to follow, which one yields results.
well captured. If you complain on two or three issues, they will tell you that they only have 10min for you and that they will only attend to one. Very nasty experience with this UK GPs. Abeg Naija medical system seems to be better than this. Save for the fake drugs

Hello Nairalanders,
My dependant's visa application was submitted the first week of February. Didn't hear any more thing from UKVI.
I called last week and was told the decision was made on ~February 14th. I asked them to escalate.

Out of curiosity, I went to the post office today, and speculatively presented page 1 of the application form. The woman came back with a BRP in a brown envelope. She asked for the Passport and vignette, I could not present it. She said the BRP was received by them since February 20th.

I called UKVI again. The lady rudely told me that my issue was escalated, and I should wait for another 15 working days.

Does anyone have an idea where my dependant's passport maybe? UKVI? Home Office? TelePerformace? IS there any number or contact that folks have used previously, please? Help me biko.

did you not tell her that you are Boris Johnson

Ancestors, help me look into this matter,

I don't seem to understand healthcare in the UK. Maybe cos of where we are coming from. I got across to my GP since last Monday complaining of acute waist pain and pain In my left knee, spoke with the Dr following day and he said he was recommending xray. On Wednesday. no show, I called again requesting to book to see dr. For a different reason, did that the following day and reminded them that I am yet to see any report or request for xray, he told me that he has forwarded the request to University hospital and that I should. E patient.

My question is, if I no fit waka again nko? Plus the excruciating pains, will I wait for ages before them attend to me? Is that how they operate here?

If na naija, at least you walk into any hospital and you are attended to.

Please what do I do? Is there any pain reliever apart from Paracetamol which I brought from Naija that I can buy easily from a shop ?

Just to add, I have been taking vitamin D and c since I relocated as recommended here sometime ago

This https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/eligibility/credit-cards/search/ is a great way to start.

It will show you which card you are likely to qualify for before you apply. Used it and got mine when I eventually applied.

Select 'credit (re)building' option.

thanks for this. I registered yesterday night and my credit card is on its way. Despite being less than 3 months here. At least it's a good way to start, even though nah £250 dey inside. Am sure it will assist with improving my credit score

if you are still in Naija.

Just freeze the oil. Wrap it that morning of your travel with newspaper, and caron, use celotape to tie it well . Put it inside a waterproof and thank me later. I came with 5 litres of oil and another 3 liters. . For the other items excluding Meat, put them in ziploc transparent bags and get it labeled. You are good to go.

Legally, if you leave your child with anyone below 16yrs you’re still legally responsible. So if kasala bust they have nothing to do with the older child. It’s you. I’d say avoid it if you can unless it’s for very very short periods of time and if possible with cctv in place to monitor.

So what did they submit to support the application? Did they not submit the parents Visa? Did they attach the mothers Visa page? What did the mother fill in her earlier form as regards to the kids or was she silent on them? Was there a consent form filled and signed by both parents and attached in their Visa application? Am asking because some of these so called agents don't know their left from right
