Good afternoon Elders

Do international students pay NI in their 20hrs. My wife received her December pay and they deducted over £150 in her statement as NI. Although she did more than. 20hrs as a result of the holidays. I thought students don't pay taxes

Where u go keep all those properties? That's why majority sell or even ask you to come take free. when you have limited Budget., omo,you go get sense.

Even all those second hand items that they sell in Naija. Where dem dey bring am?

Your year 2 kid will get free meal but you will have to pay for the one in year 4. Meals are only free for Early years and Key Stage 1(KS1) students.

If you don't want to pay, you can give your kid a packed lunch (mostly sandwich, fruit, juice, cupcake, yoghurt and crisp).

Can't advise whether you should appeal or not. It is however always better and more convenient yo have both kids in the same school.

thanks for the clarification

Good evening Ancestors on this street. I need your guidance here. We just relocated to Coventry from Naija and in the process of finding school for the kids. We wrote to the council and they scheduled a zoom meeting with us where they interviewed us alongside the kids. (6 and cool they told us that the nearest school of our choice has vacancy for the 6 year old in grade 2 while they do not have vacancy for the other kid who should be in grade 4. They said the option we have is to accept the nearest school for the grade 2 and the other farther school for the other one while we apeal to the council to see if they can reconsider and place both in same school

That is one. The next is that if they eventually place them and we want them fed, we would have to pay to the school for feeding. That one confuse me. I thought public schools in UK feed their pupils. Abi Coventry own dey different. How do I handle this feeding own.

Hello Ihebroke, Kudos for the great job. Please I just finished paying for a small plot in Karu nassarawa, the size is 50 x 45.. Because of the size, can one do a three bedroom duplex, one room , parlor , kitchen and store downstairs while two rooms are upstairs. Is it also possible for the parlor to be open, to the roof, hike the decking carries the other two rooms? What do you think. Not forgetting space for at least two cars

I think the difference between resolution and approval is one is mainly for office documentation while the other is for yours.
Here is a format that can be followed. Be open to edit it.

17th February , 2018
Attn: “ your name"

Dear Sir,
RE: BOARD APPROVAL
This is to inform you that at the meeting of board of directors held on 17th day February 2018 at “company address" . The board approved that the sum of “amount being transferred into your acc from businesss acc" to be given to you for vacation . This will cover all expenses during your trip. The above mentioned sum shall be transferred to your Guaranty Trust Bank Account number “your acc number" with account name “your name" …... . We wish you a safe trip.
Enjoy Your Trip.
Thank You.

Yours Faithfully

Hello team.

I am not very good at writing/commenting but just thought i should share something that may be useful to visa applicants. Especially self employed entrepreneurs and business owners.

Recently applied for a 2 years UK visa and it was approved. This is my 2nd visa. 1st was 2 years ago, applied for a 6 months visa and was approved as well. Used the exact same format i used for the first one.

Documents submitted;
CAC registeration documents with FIRS TIN number letter attached.
6 months bank statement with N1,300,000 balance (N1,000,000 out of that was transferred into my personal acc from my business account right before the application)
6 months pay slip (i pay myself N250,000 every month, even though it was not up to some months but that didn't matter)
A board resolution with all directors signature explaining why the amount was approved for your trip and approving the money for the trip to be sent to your account.
Board approval letter
Leave letter
Letter of Introduction.
Hotel reservation
Family pictures ( if you're not married, attach picture with your siblings or parents)

Be sure to explain every large sum that comes into your account and provide evidence either using a contract, letter, personal receipt etc

A budget of not more than N600,000 for your trip.
Be precise when answering the question of what you would be doing in the UK. Do a research a d mention tourist attractions.

I hope this would be helpful to someone. Cheers.
thank you for this. Pardon my ignorance, do you still need a board approval letter after board resolution? What is the difference? Can you please attach ur board approval, leaving out personal details. This will surely serve as a guide

6 months bank statement is okay.
Why do you want to print just 5 months as opposed to 6 though ?
because the earlier one has zero balance. That's August.

Hello @Justwise and @ekpotek, thanks for answering my questions. Do you think that 5 months bank statement will fly for q first timer or must it be 6months? Am just wondering because I need to apply in January so that I can travel around March during my leave.

Hello @Justwise and @ekpotek, thank you for responding to my earlier question. I wanted to also confirm if as a first timer, can I present 5months statement as against the 6months. Do you think that will fly. Has there been any testimony of a first timer presenting 5 months and been granted. ?

Technically, if we use the extreme part of disposable income, then it's 250k because thats what you can save. But Follow the given advice; reduce unnecessary budgets. Include all necessary documents that show your ties.

Wish you good luck!

Thanks. I was thinking my budget is frugal enough

What if I do it his way? Can it fly?

Your budget for your uk vacation is more than 2 times your disposable income of 250k. This may increase your chance of visa denial. You can reduce your miscellaneous, accommodation and may be feeding budget but ensure that your total budget is not more than 2 times your monthly disposable income (the amount you save monthly, 250k in your case).
thanks for your observation. But if you check well in my post, my Disposable income, after taxes is about 570k. 250k is just my monthly savings. What do you think?.
